This spot would be good if not for one small thing. This is Greece, country famous for not being to hitchhiking friendly and we are very close to a Turkish border which is probably making hh here even harder. From positives there are 3 petrol stations here, place for car to stop and not too bad amount of traffic but litteraly no one stops. A lot of people were turning around here and showing me that and that's all from driver's reactions. Only car that stopped was police but fortunately they only checked my passport and wished me a good luck, I gave that spot 2 instead of 1 star only thanks to very nice staff of shell petrol station that bought me some snacks and water while I was WAITING, because of how shitty hh worked here I slept nearby this spot and then took a train to Aoexandropoli (fortunately it cost less than 5 euro) to try hitchhiking from there. My general advice is DON'T COME TO THIS PART OF GREECE IF YOU WANT TO HITCHHIKE, JUST DON'T, IT'S NOT WORTH IT

There is some space for stopping but because of road closer and lack of transit traffic from Serbia getting to Osijek from Vukovar is now quite hard but I was able to get a ride towards road from border to Osijek. Still not the best place right now

Space for stopping is nice and you have good visibility but still getting a ride was quite hard here. Almost no one was stopping and most people weren't going far away but eventually I got a ride to the border but that's only because my driver drove me there even though he wasn't going all the way to border. Traffic to it is extremely low and I think that because of that going through this border isn't the best way to Croatia from Vukovar

It's probably best to take a bus to sobranec and hitchhike from there. I already gave up and was waiting for a bus but decided to still try hitchhiking till the bus comes and somehow it worked but yeah, it's not an easy spot

Not bad space for stopping and nice place to sleep near by the abandoned tools but it's very hard to get here from Thessaloniki, probably the best way is to hitchhike here. There is a bus but it's a ghost bus that exists only on Google maps and as it was already dark I don't think that hitchhiking would work well. At the end I had to WALK HERE FOR OVER 18 KILOMETERS which took me around 4 hours and I got here around 4 am... But except for that I think it's not a bad spot for going to North Macedonia

I had to wait a little but this is Greece so it wasn't unexpected. After little over two hours I got ride further towards Thessaloniki to the tools station. You have quite good visibility here and there is space for stopping, technically you are still standing before highway entry sign so if police comes you can try to use that fact to don't get fined but it's very unlikely that you will see them so don't worry about it too much. Also in small forest in between two highway ramps and highway itself there is not bad place for sleeping, it's not perfect either but it works

First car stopped in like 5 minutes but it was a Turkish border guard who could only take me to the border and confirmed that I can't cross it on foot so I declined, than after some time has passed Turkish military truck stopped and they told me that I can't stay here, that this is closed military area and that I need to get closer to the roundebad(I originally standed right between that spot and border itself). So I moved to this spot and first car I thumbed to stopped and after I showed the driver my eu passport he took me to Greece

First I tried at the end of shell gas station but after being there for 10 minutes I saw big dig approaching this station from direction of second one further down the road and as I remembered warning regarding aggressive dogs on that station left by somebody on this map I decided to change my spot and moved to small path right before place where truck and car lanes merge. I stood centrally in between of them and used my right thumb to flag trucks and left thumb to flag cars. Unfortunately most trucks ignored me or showed that they aren't going far. With cars most of them were Bulgarians who probably only went for probably cheaper fuel and back home, many of them even showed me that they aren't going far. They were some Turks too but they weren't stopping and I still needed to stand here for long time. Police only once stopped, they checked my passport and asked me what I'm doing, then they just left and didn't say anything to me so I continued hitchhiking here. I camped nearby in a tent and nobody saw me aldo in the evening I heard some people talking near me, probably border guards but they didn't find me, spot in which I camped is next to a small river going to the main border river very close to Greek border. To get there you need to walk from the border crossing to Turkish general speed limit sign (right next to ATMs) and then turn right towards Greece, you will see big empty field that's supposed to be a parking lot. You need to go through it close to the right side of it (don't be afraid of proximity to the police building) and wall till you see a place in which there is gap in fence and ground goes down. Go there and that's the spot. It's quite secured from unwanted eyes thanks to it being in lower terrain, not perfect but it worked for me

Just a marking that you can cross this border on foot. On Bulgarian side it doesn't matter if you cross this border in car checkpoint or in buss checkpoint but on Turkish side you can do it only on bus checkpoint

I was waiting here only because police stopped me here and told me that I can't go to the highway. Even though I was trying to explain to them that I'm only going to the ramp but they still insisted that I can't go there and that I need to stay here. So I stayed till they left (they were controlling cars speeds here) and then some time after to make sure that they don't come back to son and then I moved to highway ramp. I agree that this is a nice place. In opposition to what map shows you it's not yet a highway so no problem about legal issues plus it's easily reachable by public transport from the city center. I had to wait a little but i think that this is better spot than the one little bit before as you are catching cars from both roads and most of them still are driving quite slow. From negative sides of this spot sometimes taxis are dropping tourist here or locals are going on the main road from here and you have to wait for short time as there are usually blocking space for driver to stop but from the positives, right in front of this spot on the other side of road there very nice urbex for sleeping with beautiful view over Dubrovnik old town

Just a marking that you can walk through this border but also warning that there is construction site on road starting little behind border and going for like 6 km till bridge. As I didn't wanted to sleep next to a construction site as workers would have probably come here in the morning I decided to walk till end of it and thumb to every passing car. I have mixed feelings about this spot. From one hand it offer not bad place for stopping and traffic. There is toilet however it's paid toilet so I can't recommend it and there is even an official hitchhiking spot sticker placed here but at the same time waiting time was very long. Abandoned gas station. Good for sleeping near by as there aren't any humans nor dogs here but visibility is limited and speeds are quite high. I came here only because spot before was occupied by local hitchhikers and it wasn't a good idea aldo sleeping here is something I can recommend. There is a nice spot on top of lower clif aldo it requires a little climbing to reach

Space for stopping is quite big and there is nice place for sleeping near by close to a river (I tested it) but waiting times are high here. First, not many people are going from Serbia to Kosovo. Second, most of them aren't really willing to take you also one Kosovo Albanian stopped but he wanted money so I refused ride. After waiting for two hours on a day before, camping close to a river and then standing for another two hours the next day I got lucky with Kosovo Serb who took me to Serbian town of Gracanica south of Pristina. Over all if you want to hitchhike from Serbia to Kosovo it's doable but requires a lot of patience so maybe it's better to just go there through Macedonia or Montenegro instead but if you want to go like me than good luck, you will need it

First about the border crossing. You can cross it on foot without any problem, I crossed it from Transinistria to Moldova yesterday in the evening because I could stay in Transinistria only for 12 hours without accommodation and I wanted to wildcamp which I did on Moldovan side of border on small grass area in forest next to main road but when I wanted to go back to transinistria in the morning guards had problems with me carrying a pepper spray and told me that I need to throw it away if I want to cross border. As in Moldova and Transinistria a like there are a lot of stray dogs that quite often are aggressive I didn't wanted to be without anything to defend myself so I decided to go back to Moldova. Now description of spot itself starts, there is place to stop almost everywhere on that road between border control and bridge. I just stayed in the only place that had any shadow in the morning and was close to border control. Cars goes slow after border and I quickly got ride to Chisinau city center

Got ride to Bendery city center almost instantly. Litteraly third car stopped but I think I was just lucky aldo spot looks really nice. You can sleep in a forest nearby but be aware of dogs. One came to me in the morning and started barking at my tent but as I was inside I just waited till he got bored and only when I didn't heard any dogs outside (and you will hear their movement even if they are quiet because of a lot of trashes and sticks in that forest) I only came out of my tent. It was my third night here and first time I had such situation but be aware of possibility and maybe set up tent further away from path (I put it quite close because of my lazynes). Also they don't let people without plane ticket to the airport which is sad because one year ago you could go there freely to use free toilet and charge your phone but check that as it may change in future

Police want let you walk across this bridge. Because most of the traffic are Ukrainians transiting true this small part of Moldova to other part Odessa oblast and this border zone has some special regulations due to high risk of people escaping mobilization and this may lead to some problems. If you aren't shy there is an opportunity to hitchhike this border as every 30 minutes or something que forms before this bridge and then you can ask cars with Moldovan plates will they take you across. As I'm in fact shy I after thinking for a while what to do decided to take a bus across and as price was the same for close distance and got going to chisinau airport I decided to go over there as there is a forest right next to it which I already camped once and first bus that I could buy ticket online was quite late in the evening (there is no real bus station in that town)

Small truck stop right after block post. Probably the best space for going south aldo you have to be patient. Police don't mind you standing there and you can just walk here past it to this spot however I to be sure asked them can I hitchhike there and they had zero problem. Not the best spot for cars for stopping but they still do. After 25 minutes of waiting and rejecting one offer in different direction than mine driver approached me and told me that he didn't had place to stop at the roundabout so he stopped at the parking nearby and told me he is going towards Ulm. I accepted ride as it was on my way but later I found out that he was actually going to Saxony but it was pure luck. Nether the less good spot for Ulm and Munich even if it doesn't look like that

Refused fiew short rides in different directions then mine and after realizing that hitchhiking through Austria will probably look like this, you wait 1-2 hours to get ride like 10 to 20 km I decided to change my plans and leave this country as fast as possible so after sleeping in nearby wood and before that chilling at the river under bridge with beer I got from one of the drivers going into different direction I slept in nearby forest and took a train to German border. Very good decision as over there I got very long ride in like 25 minutes

Very shitty place for car to stop when you are standing at the highway entrence but still doable. I was extremely lucky with getting a lift so fast. In terms of getting here from the town, when you get to road connecting truck stop on petrol station for going north with roads outside of it next to a bridge over highway you need to walk on small path in to the forest that's going right next to the fence. Then after like 20 meters or something you will find small hole in fence wide enough to get into service station through it. It will be marked by log penetrating the fence (that probably was used for creation of it). Then there is a safe underpass next to a petrol station itself that you can use if you are going towards France

I tried to get a ride to UK for 9 hours with sign with big letters "UK" but failed so next day I decided to change direction and go to Luxembourg instead as I also would have little issue with getting local sim card as next day on which I would be buying it if I succeeded as it would be a Sunday and most stores for that would be closed so I thought that fuck it, this country is not worth that struggle. I leave the sign in bushes next to highway exit right after road from truck parking connects to road from gas station on right side of road so if somebody want to use it feel free and good luck to you all

You have to wait a little but it's fully doable. I rejected fiew rides to Hamburg itself and went with driver who was going towards Bremen however during ride I found out that my driver was actually going towards the Netherlands so I decided to go there with him. At the spot itself there is nice forest for camping at night, you can access it by first crossing first fence using an open entrence for service road located in between two fences, then go litte bit north till you se place in which fence has been cutted. Then you are here, actually I would say that this spot is much better for sleeping than previous little bit up north of here and yes, thumbing at the exit works, you just need to be patient so if you are shy like me just stand there and somebody will stop

Great for going to Germany. You can get here from service station going up north using bridge on small road little bit north of that place. Getting from the "northern" service station to bridge is easy as there is small road connecting it to the service station but if you don't want to REALY go around while going from the bridge to this spot you will need to walk a litte next to a highway, just keep that in mind. If you are brave enough you can try to run through the motorway but I don't recommend that

Good amount of traffic but better not many people stops. From positive sides there is a bus bay which gives you perfect space for car to stop. I recommend to don't accept shorter rides than those to Mantsala

Here is the place where you actually should stay if you want to stand with your thumb up at the end of service station. There is buss stop with bus bay that gives enough space even for truck to stop. Directions Suwałki/Białystok

Work great, only downside is that if you want to get here from the city than you have to climb over the fence, the best is to do this in forest as in other case (like mine) you will likely be reprimanded and if you are unlucky staff might call the police (I was lucky and they didn't, only said to don't do it again)
