Avoid hitchhiking near the checkpoint. Another guy and I were kicked out, and they even called the police. Even though we were standing at the end of the motorway—which technically wasn’t a motorway—they forced us to buy ferry tickets. Don’t accept a ride to Rødby unless the car is actually going to Germany. I recently sent a complaint to Scandlines, but it didn’t help. From now on, I’ll either avoid their ferries or hitchhike more strategically. Screw Scandlines and their policies!

This is a great spot for hitchhiking! My original plan was to hitchhike to Kaiserslautern via Nuremberg. After just five minutes, a car stopped, but I turned it down since it was only a very short-distance ride. Twenty minutes later, I got lucky with an 80 km ride to Augsburg, which I gladly accepted and decided to adjust my route for the day. This spot is also excellent for night hitchhiking from Munich.

I got stuck there on a cold and rainy night. A car going to Hamar stopped, but it was not on my way. After an hour came a police car, we had a nice chat and they recommended me to wait and get warm in McDonalds, which is 24/7 open. The police was worried about me staying next to a 80-90km/h lane, which is next to the roundabout. Technically this spot is good, but the combination of darkness (there are lights there) and a Norwegian rain was not perfect in their opinion. But McDonalds was a good choice.

Traffic going to Hamar, Rena, Oslo. IN case you got stuck on night or rainy weather, wait in McDonalds, which is 24/7 open. The staff there is nice, be nice to them too :) I spent a rainy cold night there till 6am and got a ride to Oslo in 45 minutes. Before it cars to Hamar and Rena stopped.

I appeared at this spot accidentally because my previous driver accidentally made a mistake and took other way to Leverkusen than he planned before. Anyway, this spot was not convenient in my case because I was trying to get back to A1. Anyway, I didn't have any other option when I got there. After approx. 1 hour a kind soul helped me, drove some extra kilometers and took me to the gas station at Burscheid on A1. I think there is much local traffic there, going to Dusseldorf, Duisburg and Leverkusen.

Much traffic going north (Sweden, Denmark, Norway). I was going back to Norway, asked a Norwegian driver, but his car was full. Then after 10 minutes a girl with a small dog came to me and asked me "Hi, What is your story?". Hehe then she asked me if I had a driving licence and if I drank alcohol that day. So she was going to Gøteborg and then to Stockholm. She asked me if I would like to join her and help her driving to Copenhagen. So I became her driver that day and did it to Copenhagen. At that gas station you should even use "Oslo" sign :))) it is what I exactly did - I had 3 signs, i.e. Bremen, Hamburg, Oslo.

Ha ha ha, what should I say, guys? Last time I wrote that this spot is not convenient, and the next time after 20 mins wait (around 7.45 pm) a car from the main road pulled over. The car was going to Trondheim, my final destination. Maybe I was lucky that day. But as an experienced hitch-hiker I would technically avoid this spot. 2nd day of Easter (April 2024), a 70 minutes wait and a 422km ride to Kløfta (close to Oslo). To get there take a local train to Lundamo stasjon, this is the last station to which you use a single ticket (46 NOK) valid in transportation zone A. At that point you are well visible and right by the E6 motorway, cars go 50 km/h and there is a large shoulder for drivers to pull over. I used a sign and my thumb. This spot is perfect because all the town and very local Trondheim-traffic is already filtered out.
