I got dropped of on the highway the evening before and walked here in the morning. The fence at the tollstation is broken and its easy to access the highway up a small slope. The workers greeted me back nicely and i got a ride in no time by a truck to Romania. At the border we got X-Rayed and my guitar was inspected and played by the police:)

Not much traffic off season. Mostly Turkish cars with 34 area code. Many trucks with 16. I needed to go to Sofia so i tried to go east with sign Bulgaria and west with Sign Thessaloniki. Sometimes both while standing in the middle and turning for cars/trucks. Going to Turkey should be possible since i got offered rides by truck drivers. The police were really chill only checked my Passport and told me they have to kick me out if someone reports me and chatted with me about traveling while doing their checks. The checkpoint and police presence probably made the drivers not stop for me. 1 male

I bet its a good spot during the season but for me it didnt really work out. There was a police control so i first climbed the fence and tried on the highway and on ramp but had no luck. Later the checkpoint was gone so i went opposite the hardware store( Inside is a free water fountain right at the entrance straight on). Later an employee took me on his delivery run and i unloaded the loads with him to drive me to the toll after. 1 male

There is a gap in the fence to get to the highway after the toll station. Its also possible to walk to the rest stop. 1 male

Tried to get to the toll station by buses but two scheduled busses didnt drive. Tried to hitch a ride until the bus 91 came.

Locals are very friendly and will drive you to the next towns or ferry. Mind it was after the season. Might be different when it's full of tourists. 2 males

Traffic to the highway goes slow or onto the road here and can see you. They have to stop in the road tho so have your things ready. Luchi the legend drove us to the border and bought us a whole table of food<3 2 males

Okay spot for cars to stop after the gas station Lots of traffic to Pernik after work but also Macedonia/Greece highways Some shade available FYI Tickets for public transport are 80cent per ride and capped at 2 € per day for any amount of rides. 2 males

There is WiFi and shade. Alot of traffic from cars trucks and busses. Sign to Sofia. Alot of busses leaving the parking looked and gestured me like they would have taken me but couldn't stop again so maybe be visible to them or directly ask them. Just before i wanted to call it a night in the nearby field on my last round of asking people a trucker took me all the way to Sofia:) The walk across the border to BG is longer than usual if you get there by truck since they get separated a few hundred meters earlier 1 male

Sign Nis/Sofia Literally the first car stopped. (Fancy BMW 7 series Limousine) Not much space for stopping tho so need to be fast. They only needed to go half way to Niš but drove me all the way. Helped diagnose their car and fix it at the gas station before Niš with a nice ice cream:) 1 male Friday

There is no gas station anymore. Not many people at all here. If you get here anyway you should enjoy the garden, lake and bridge over the lake and see this beautiful spot. The few trucks who stop here are all local. Toilet and Water from the restaurant were allowed to be used by me and eventually a local drove me to the city toll station. Not before buying me drinks and a big lunch :) Friendly people here

Good Shade, Market and WiFi. Sign Nis/Sofia It can be a good spot to hitchhike but i think i just got quite unlucky since most cars were full. People were really nice and brought me water, energy drinks and good conversation so the wait was nice. I feel like sticking to tolls/rampas is more efficient in Serbia tho. (And dont get off at the station i got to) 1 Male

Took the Bus 493 from Sava Centre and asked the driver to drop me off here and he kindly did.(If they dont you can try at the on Ramp where the bus goes off the highway, its a good distance already and currently all public transport is free) There is no shade at this place. With Sign to Niš/Sofia a guy stopped after 10 Minutes and said 100km but went to another highway and dropped me off at the next gas station. Staying here to get a ride to Niš would have been easier. He shared his smoke with me tho so the rest was more fun:) 1 male

At the end of the Station there are trees for shade Big Station with many people stopping/resting and approachable. Truck reststop also in the back of the gas station. Most people have full cars tho. Too crowded station for my liking 1 Male Friday 5pm

Getting of here to switch rides to Vlorë worked for me but i can see one get stranded here. 1m 4PM Wednesday

Went to road that is north and got told to go to this road. On this road people told me to go to the other road i have been to... After a long wait and an hour of walking i got a ride by a construction truck who already saw me on his journey to tirana 1 m 2PM Thursday

Wanted to go to the gas station to catch also the traffic coming from MNE. Tourist saw us walking by the road and picked us up. 3 m 11AM Wednesday

Most people will go to Albania/Skhöder I tried at the exit of the town but no space ro stop and no shade. At the roundabout people might not notice you but shade and shops nearby. Got a ride from People going to Tirana to my Hostel in Skhöder. 1m Sunday 10AM

Free Ferry for pedestrians, just walk on. Free WiFi. Ask around on the ferry. First person i asked took me all the way through MNE.

Good shade. Plenty of space to stop. Can ask people on the parking of the restaurant when then have MNE license plate. Took a while but some guys living in the mountains drove me further to the border. Alot of local traffic turning right.

Shade from the street signs. Not too much traffic but easy to be seen and stop. Lovely ride to Trebinje.

Good shade in the morning till midday from a tree and from the afternoon from the houses. Can even sit on the curb of the unused house. Free open WiFi from the caffe at the corner. Tried in the evening but left after 20 mins and went to sleep by the river upstream which is really pretty. In the morning good traffic to Trebinje.

All you need to know: DANGER! WARNING! NEVER GET OFF IN THIS WHOLE AREA! If you need convincing: Didn't want to go to Neum. Got off here to go to Stolac. Its like a dessert highway. People going at least 150kmh. No water. No shade. No nothing. I waited for an hour and decided to start walking all the way to Stolac. If you walk the main road people honk and shout at you and you could get ran over since there sometimes is no space to walk next to the road. Got to a little farm where i got water, tomatos, bread and cheese from the kids and could chill in the shade for a bit. On the small path next to the main road there is no traffic but at least you dont get run over. Saw alot of big ass snakes and wolfs, most of them dead(probably because of dehydration). But also a cool ass tortoise so the 1 star goes to you Tom. Asked some people at the town 15km down the road and got a lift to Stolac. Thought i would pass out and fall in a ditch from dehydration.
