Good spot, asked around, got a drive to Prague really quickly

We asked around and a Polish couple agreed to take us all the way to Brno

Started hitchhiking in the afternoon with a sign reading Split and a Slovenian guy took us all the way to Zadar where he offered us that he'll drive us to Zagreb the next day (it was late when we got to Zadar) which we happily accepted

Waited here for two hours (on a Sunday evening so it's kinda understandable) before a guy who saw us earlier went out of his way to take to the border.

We tried to leave Mostar on a Sunday afternoon but not many cars were going this direction at that time so it took quite a while. We first asked around the gas station and then held a sign near the main road.

Not a bad spot. There are lot of cars not going that fast and there is a place for them to stop but almost everyone was either full or heading somewhere else but eventually a guy took us to Ston even when it wasn't on his route.

We had a sign reading "SEA" as we wanted to get to the seaside and a young lady took us almost immediately

We had a sign reading Opuzen and a young lady took us (M+F) there after ca 10 min

We were really lucky because a guy going to Konjic stopped almost immediately and took us there

There is a former bus stop (so there's a space for cars to pull over) but it's not ideal as the cars don't see you until they come from a turn before. We head a sign to Konjic and eventually a Slovenian couple offered us to take us at least half the way before making a turn elsewhere.

Do not go here along the highway - the cars go slow but there is not enough space for pedestrians. We got there thanks to a local who saw us standing with a sign reading Sarajevo on the branching from the main road a took us here, before the toll booth. Then we waited some 10 minutes before a car stopped so overall a good spot

We put up a sign reading Sarajevo and a guy stopped immediately and offered to take us half the way to Zenica (which we accepted of course)

On a Sunday morning a guy stopped almost immediately to take us to Doboj

On a Sunday morning not many people were here but a kind couple agreed to take us (M+F) to the toll booth further north. We wanted to get to Sarajevo through Doboj and Zenica (but we were told that many people go from Banja Luka to Sarajevo through Jajce - the southern route).

The first driver we asked took us to Banja Luka

We waited cca 8-11 on a Saturday morning but there where only locals from Zagreb. We asked around and had a sign, we tried standing next to the highway too. Ultimately we decided to walk to another gas station 15 km from there (45.7500547N, 16.3010861E) by nearby roads (not along th highway) - fortunately a driver took us a part of the way

Good spot to get to Zagreb. We asked around and even in the evening two Croatian guys took us there

A bad spot but we were extremely lucky. We (M+F) got dropped off in Baden by our previous driver (we were trying to get from Czechia to Bosnia) so we were just trying to get out of there back on the hughway but a kind older lady took us all the way to Leibnitz. If you ever end up in Baden this bus station is the only possible spot to get on the highway I think.

We asked around the petrol station but there were just locals and nobody going longer distance on the highway so we eventually put up a sign to Wiener Neustadt and stood before the traffic lights on the opposite side of the crossroad. The cars have to stop there so they see you and they can wait for you on the bus stop or at the petrol station. A couple eventually took us but only to Baden (which was a mistake probably).
