All heading to salzburg not many to insbruck A few to italy

met a friend there then tried hitchhicking together, only few going towards salzburg many to innsbruck and to the south of munich (BUT Sunday afternoon)

Long wait if you are going to Salzburg. Most cars go to Germany. Definitely not the best but there probably isnt a better one around (next time I would try to get a ride past this). If you dont mind waiting someone will eventually take you.

Lots of cars, had to ask just 5 cars, Many packed due to holiday season, you will find a quick ride in direction of Salzburg male, white, 20

At first we (young couple) tried for hour and a half standing at the exit before entering the highway with a sign "Salzburg" and "Austria" but had no luck. Most cars here are going to České Budějovice. As soon as we changed the sign to "Budějovice" a sweet guy picked us up. He recommended us a good drop off spot past Budějovice and offered to take us there - a bus station in Kaplice nádraží.

Good spot, to get out of Salzburg, I tried at the highway first but most cars were full. Here it’s more local cars that don‘t go as far but have space.

The bus station on the way up Hill so because there but I have luck to stop a guy who goes to Salzburg

1 f 1m Aug 26 BAD SPOT FOR GOING SOUTH Bad spot, started asking at 17:00 pm and got no ride until 22:00 Decided to sleep in our tent nearby and returned the next morning From 7:30am till 15:00 (with breaks) no luck. Got than taken by a lovely dutch person to south of bolzano Had a sign with „Italia“ and asked around aswell. Seems to be decent to go to Salzburg or further East tho. There is a BurgerKing and a McDonals with very clean, free toilets.

Better to ask around, still not easy to get a ride to Salzburg. Took me 90 minutes to get a ride 30km in direction salzburg. Dont know if there is any better spots around though so this might ve your only choice.

This spot is decent. Small rest area but plenty of people stopping there. Had a guy take me to Salzburg because he was returning back home. Might not be the best spot though because again it’s kind of small.

Wanted to go Vienna but decided to hitchhike without a sign, Just to get on the Highway. Guess i was lucky, bc someone took me Salzburg

We were trying to get out of Salzburg on the A10 to Villach. There is a lot of traffic going to the A10. We waited for 5 min before somebody took us:). Great spot but maybe we were just Lucky.

Worked alright to go to Salzburg

Dropped here because our ride went to Innsbruck and we wanted to go to Salzburg. Not great spot but eventually we got away.

There were lots of cars with many locals coming from Innsbruck because of the shopping center, but almost nobody was driving towards Salzburg, so I had to wait a long time.

On the way to Salzburg, I was super lucky. The first car driver picked me up, and there were many truck drivers at that spot.

Good for Salzburg, possibly for Linz. Total shitty for Graz! Lot of cars with families... Better to go somewhere else.

A Hungarian couple took us to Salzburg after asking them at the gas station.

Most people are driving towards Salzburg, we got a ride to Raststätte Golling after approx. 2,5 h waiting at the traffic light (so cars can stop behind us at the junction) with thumb out an a sign (A10/Villach/Ljubljana) on Easter Sunday.
