Lot of cars are full but I could easily find somebody who took me to Vienna

Very huge traffic lot's of cars. First asked driver in the parking lot was heading towards Vienna center. Hard to get from the city center.

Stood at the exit of the McDonalds parking lot with a big sign Österreich. Took quite some time but shout out to Michi who brought me all the way to Vienna.

WHAT A LUCK! We got to the parking spot through a hole in a fence (no other way around), got hastled by police and then got a sandwich at the Viva. Its open till midnight and we headed out of there at 11 pm. Thought we were going to sleep somewhere around till morning, fortunately, my friend thumbed a car for fun right when we got out of the gas station and they took us right to our city! Great spot for the ride out of Vienna, its walkable distance to get there, if youre adventurous :)

Great fruit on the trees, recommend trying. Good spot to hitch hike to Vienna, met 2 guys who were on a hitchhiking raise, funnily enough, we got us a ride before them, although they were closer to the round about and were there before us. Worth the wait, the guy who drove us even gave us 20 euros.

Two random guys took us up to Mikulov, which was great, because we were heading Vienna. The only reason for a star down is that those dudes didnt talk to us at all.

Me and my friend wanted to hitchhike from there to Vienna on a Monday afternoon. Surprisingly, many cars were local and no one wanted to take us further on even if they went to austria. Dont recommend.

After reading the comments idk I guess this place is just a hit or miss. Got here around 6 PM and tried asking around a bit, stood by the exit, and stood in front of the gas station for about 3 1/2 hours and had no luck. The place is beautiful though so I camped by the lake and tried again next morning. Next morning I waited another 3 hours until someone offered to take me near Wien/Vienna. There was a good amount of people in the morning but idk they didn’t really care to see or look at me lol. So yeah I think my luck was dwindling and you might have a better experience than me. I think it’s still worth to hitchhike here as one of the primary spots people stop at and head towards east potentially.

Pretty great spot for heading East or West. So much traffic and there’s a place where people can pull off into. Got a ride to Wien/Vienna in 20 mins.

lol the spot was so bad (even that it’s incredible, it’s just the traffic) most of them are locals i got lucky and i guy finally drop me at the mcdonald next station but here i was so stuck good luck it’s hard to leave vienna to north 🫠

We (2 dudes) asked around, there were mostly full cars, we got a ride from a Czech car to Vienna

okay the spot is still 100% insane ahahah got took to vienna in almost 30min with a direct ride :))) place yourself just next to the stop sign (and with a sign) and everything will be good ! good luck the spot is perfect 🙌🏼

Not a lot of traffic. Asked around and got quite lucky to rather quickly find a ride to Vienna

I took the train to weiskirchen and walked to this stop due to its great ratings. And it lived up to it. I was there on a Tuesday around midday and only asked maybe 6 people until I found a person with an Austrian plate (I tried to go to Vienna) and the person was heading to Nürnberg and dropped me off at a gas station before entering the city. There was quite a few people from the Netherlands who also drove to Austria but didn’t have any space left. One person also offered to take me to Würzburg. If I’m in the area I will definitely come back to this spot to cover greater distances.

If u want to Go to Vienna, don't. Almost everyone goes to the south or their Cars are completely filled. After 2 hours three other hitchhikers joined me and we asked Split Up and asked around. I was able to get the First Ride bc the guy had only one place left.

Wanted to go Vienna but decided to hitchhike without a sign, Just to get on the Highway. Guess i was lucky, bc someone took me Salzburg

getting there is a pain in the ass but i think it’s worth it. many people going in the direction of Graz or Vienna. got a ride from a woman driving to vienna for work.
