Everyone goes to Vienna!! (Saturday morning, two guys, sign Graz) We asked around, hitchhiked with a sign... About 20 cars would be willing during those 3 hrs to take us to Vienna. So recommendation would be to take anything, or not come here in the first place if heading to Graz. I was here before solo, and had a different experience (read below)

We waited there for about two minutes with a sign saying “Ljubljana, Graz, Vienna,” and after two minutes, a man from Slovenia with Mercedes picked us up and drove us over to Ljubljana.

No luck here, not a lot of cars don‘t go to vienna. Cars did not even slow down. I‘ll move to fischamed and try there

Not much to the north (Vienna) / talked to a few people but most were going south. After 1h I got a ride

The cars don't have a perfect opportunity to stop but with the drive threw beeing directly beside the chance of finding somebody driving to Vienna/Linz is high

Don’t recommend this place. Really not good spot to Graz direction, so we (2) waited too long and in the end, man working on gas station took us back to Vienna. Everyone went just to Vienna or Eisenstadt on M3.

Terrible spot to Graz direction. Everyone went to Linz direction or just to Vienna. From this place we (couple) moved just a few kilometers (20 minute ride) to gas station under Vienna.

Not so frequent gas station, but last in Slovakia in a way to Austria/Hungary. We (couple) spent some time here and asking people directly and also with sign to Vienna/Graz, but we didn’t manage it to Graz that day.

Really nice spot for Znojmo and Vienna, cars are slow from the roundabout, can see you clearly and almost everybody goes in this direction. Even though it didn't feel really safe a truck stopped for me after just few minutes. But for a passenger car, the spot is large enough.

Winter ride to Vienna middle of day during week not too much passage lots of foreign plate. Many rich Austrians who don't pick up good spot none the less

Picked up immediately headed to Vienna with sign. Lots of traffic during the week lots of places to stop and very visible despite the cars moving fast.

A young Czech couple dropped me off in Vienna. We played card games in the car. It was very nice. I had a Vienna sign with me.

A local said to us that it’s a best spot to leave Graz direction Vienna. Mostly people leave from the other side. But we had probably luck. Got a ride directly to Vienna- Patience is the key;)

Got here in the evening on a multiple day trip heading to vienna. A friendly local took us to a very good camping spot with a great view of the alps in the area. Not so good for going far distances. Summer 2025

A lot of trucks to vienna, italy and Brno

Hitched from there to take the bus at the nearby village, Markt St. Martin. its different from time to time. one time i waited 10 minutes, another time i gave up. once get a ride to vienna from there, waiting 15-20 mins. All without sign. I standed in front of the crosswalk. so people have to notice you because it seems that you want to cross.

The first car stopped and took me to Vienna Enough space to stop and cars are going slowly and have enough time to see you

just go along the road and ask around where most of the people are. i decided to do something stupid and went to Vienna by foot, which took me 14 hours, but at this place you get a ride just by existing. cross the border.

mostly to Austria. spacious lane to stop at. just wait until your lovely vienna ride. I went to the border cause i wanted to stroll.

in theory this is the best you got in order to escape the north of Vienna (hell) workday morning was very tough, but I persevered and reached Prague in 6 hours even with horrible luck. please ask to take you to gas stations, direct rides to brno or prague are very unlikely.
