Friday around 11 am September, there was construction work at the gas station and that makes hitchhiking difficult. But despite that I managed to find a direct ride to Vienna (I had a Wien sign) I waited for about an hour at the exit of the gas station

No one wanted to take us to Vienna, but at last two czech girls saw us from the parking lot and decided to take the side quest

Good if you're going to Vienna and want to look for trucks, and it's not sunday - as on sundays trucks are prohibited from travelling through Austria. Not many cars here, so had to use the sign on the road. By miracle found a couple going to Italy, but the place seems difficult if trucks are not an option.

previous ride dropped us here, not ideal, traffic is too fast, you have to go around and ask people. our destination was vienna, but writing a sign for mikulov got us a ride with a very nice local guy quickly and from there it’s super easy to get to vienna, took us less than 5min

lots of traffic, unfortunately we had to wait a lot longer than anticipated. talked with an elderly couple with vienna plate two minutes after reaching the spot but they didn’t want to take us with them. after that just waited at the exit, there’s an „official hitchhiking spot“ sticker had two signs, vienna and brno, got picked up by two workers on their way to brno. seems way easier than going straight to vienna

The first guy we asked took us straight to Vienna. But that was probably also lucky, the gas station was very small. But it's right by the highway, so good spot to go south!

Not a lot of traffic in the direction of Austria (we were there from 10:30 am to 1pm and maybe around 10 cars every 10 minutes) and actively holding out our sign and asking people for 1 hour. If you ask for the highway A2 a lot more people are willing to take you. But not ideal to go all the way to Vienna in one ride.

This place sucks, we got a ride to brno after a full day and 2 nights sleep. First we ( 2 people) tried getting to prague or germany but no one from crech republic wanted to talk much or did not stop. Later we gave up on that and just tried to get anywhere but there was only people who could take us to vienna. There was a cool local bus driver that gave me some snacks and a drink. It is BIZAR how long this took felt like a fever dream. There is a nice camping spot at the water tank and easy to walk underneath the toilet gate at the macdonalds, fuck that genocidal company anyway. Wish you the best of luck this direction is kinda rough.

Probably the best way to leave vienna without going too far out of the city center. The gas station has an okay amount of traffic and there is a bus lane so cars can also stop on the road.

Very huge traffic lot's of cars. First asked driver in the parking lot was heading towards Vienna center. Hard to get from the city center.

Stood at the exit of the McDonalds parking lot with a big sign Österreich. Took quite some time but shout out to Michi who brought me all the way to Vienna.

Tried to get a ride to Nuremberg at night without any luck. However, I got really lucky in the morning and found a truck driver who took me about 60 km from Vienna.

WHAT A LUCK! We got to the parking spot through a hole in a fence (no other way around), got hastled by police and then got a sandwich at the Viva. Its open till midnight and we headed out of there at 11 pm. Thought we were going to sleep somewhere around till morning, fortunately, my friend thumbed a car for fun right when we got out of the gas station and they took us right to our city! Great spot for the ride out of Vienna, its walkable distance to get there, if youre adventurous :)
