I don’t recomment this gas station, 90% of cars are going back to Vienna. We wanted go to Graz but end up in Hungary after 2 hours

It isnt so bad. I understand, that trying to get a ride to Vienna or Budapest from here might be quite a hard task. However, it was just fine for hitching out of Bratislava. We used sign Jarovce which worked great and got us to the OMV petrol station in Jarovce (on D2, southbound).

You need to be patient or have luck because this spot is very bad. We were catching for 3hours to Vienna and nothing Drivers faces were strange, cars drove so fast 15-18 hours

Very nice spot, great visibility, cars going slow, plenty of space for them to stop and there is quite a lot of traffic. Ideal for Vienna. In our experience this spot was also better than asking around the gas station as there isnt that many cars there.

Honestly shocked that others say that this spot is shit for Budapest and good for Vienna — I had exactly the opposite experience hitchhiking to Austria! Three hours waiting with a sign for ‘Graz’ (I was on my way to Zagreb), and the only offer in that direction that I got was to a town just over the border. Yet three people stopped to ask if going to Budapest would help, and two more people stopped to apologize that they were going to Budapest! I had banked on people going to Vienna making the connection that Vienna is on the way to Graz, but as hour three closed I made a sign for Vienna, and it was STILL another hour. There is no shade at the on-ramp and it gets hot. The traffic is a steady trickle but honestly not that much. I would try another spot next time, no question. Lots of space in the surrounding area to camp unseen, though, if this spot does serve you. I walked here from the end of the tram line at night to cross the highway with less traffic and start early (not that the early start helped!), and was at least well rested for the frustration.

This spot isn't really best because of the nearby highway, so you can only stop cars coming from the gas station. Still, it's probably the best spot you can choose in the area. We wanted to head down toward Vienna/Graz, but an older French couple stopped on their way to Salzburg.

Friday 10am dead as hell wanted to go to graz and avoid Vienna altogether , but after an our of few cars I gladly accepted a ride to Vienna city center

these reviews are so funny. bro is going with the companion and complains that less people want to take 2 passengers. spot is good. you can also stand a bit earlier, there are 2 huge lanes. or ask around. everything works. i had sign "vienna/bratislava"

Not the best spot to get out of Vienna in my opinion, but it's okay. Drivers seem not to like to stop here.

First car took me straight to Vienna.

We got here from Brno by a train and a bus. There weren’t that many cars stopping here and its gonna be hard to get a car to stop by standing with a sign next to the road (at least in this particular spot) as there’s a “no right turns” sign there (maybe because of the construction nearby, i’m not sure). But we managed to get a ride to Vienna from here so maybe we got a little lucky.

Lot of people willing to take us, but everyone was going to Vienna or Linz, we wanted to go to Graz or Slovenia or somwhere west. After 1.5h we got lift to Italy.

Everyone goes to Vienna!! (Saturday morning, two guys, sign Graz) We asked around, hitchhiked with a sign... About 20 cars would be willing during those 3 hrs to take us to Vienna. So recommendation would be to take anything, or not come here in the first place if heading to Graz. I was here before solo, and had a different experience (read below)

We waited there for about two minutes with a sign saying “Ljubljana, Graz, Vienna,” and after two minutes, a man from Slovenia with Mercedes picked us up and drove us over to Ljubljana.

No luck here, not a lot of cars don‘t go to vienna. Cars did not even slow down. I‘ll move to fischamed and try there

The cars don't have a perfect opportunity to stop but with the drive threw beeing directly beside the chance of finding somebody driving to Vienna/Linz is high

Don’t recommend this place. Really not good spot to Graz direction, so we (2) waited too long and in the end, man working on gas station took us back to Vienna. Everyone went just to Vienna or Eisenstadt on M3.
