Not loads of space for cars to pull over but they are going slow and can see you clearly. We used a sign Travnik. We were very lucky and got a ride almost instantly, but I think it should always be quite quick to get a ride to Travnik from here as all the cars are going in that direction even though the amount of traffic isnt huge. The lovely people that picked us up were so kind that they drove us all the way to Sarajevo when it wasnt even their original destination. We were a couple.

In front of the gas station, this is the n'est spot in Bugojno to go towards Sarajevo

Good spot direction Kupres and Sarajevo. Although hhing in bosnia works quite well, I waited for over an hour. Maybe bad luck, the spot itself looks good.

Headed south towards Sarajevo, used a sign sayin SARAJEVO/TUZLA. Most of the people crossing the border were Croats who were signaling to us that they are going right back or stg. After some time a kind truck driver took us to Šićki Brod (close to Tuzla).

With a sign SARAJEVO we got a ride to Živinice in a matter of few minutes, not the best spot tho, quite dangerous, lots of traffic, the cars dont really have a place to pull over without blocking the traffic.

Great guy who later offered to take us to Sarajevo and sleep in his apartments for free 2 days later

Very good spot to hitchhike. A lot of cars in direction to Sarajevo. Spot where cars can easily stop. Took us truck.

Much traffic and many Cars going to Sarajevo or Doboj

We thought it would be better to get to here by bus from Sarajevo as it might be easier to get a hitch from here. Turns out it's some gypsy city and most of people were laughing at us. After 3 hours we've came to a conclusion it will be better to try to get back in the direction of Sarajevo and stop at the gas station on highway. It's possible to walk under the tunnel to an other city of the highway

Very good place, a lot of traffic. Got taken there in 20 minutes right to Sarajevo. We were 2 guys

A place with beautiful views and a station with a bathroom. We tried to hitchhike to Livno, and that was our mistake. I recommend hittingchhiking to Bugojno first, as most people deviate to Sarajevo.

Don't stop here. Someone dropped us here from the exit of Mostar as we were trying to go to Sarajevo. Very bad move ! We thought with more traffic and plenty of space to stop it would be good, but literally thousands of car (got so bored I counted lol) passed by and no one seemed to care at all. After 2.5 hours we ended up giving up. Then you can't walk to any better place, everyrthing is too far away. The guy in the gas station in front was friendly and called us a cab to reach the next train station 15 minutes away. Cost us 20€ but it seemed like the only way to get out of this awful spot where no one seemed to care at all and it felt like cars could go endlessly without one ever stopping. (French couple in their 20s with no sign - doesn't look like having one would change much, April 2026)

Stood with a sign to Sarajevo pretty much got a ride instantly

I wait 10 minutes, and a nice Guy pick me Up and bring to Niksic and Pay for me a Busticket to Sarajevo.

Go in this exact spot, where truck drivers stop. Don't bother with cars if you're going to Sarajevo or Belgrade. Get the sign and ask them nicely when they stop. The 4th truck I asked to brought me all the way.

Probably it's the best to go to the end of the city to avoid local traffic. Previous driver left me near that place and it was good. Actually my driver was going to Modrica and the best way is via Zivnica, but he changed route for Sarajevo for me.

Really good spot, big bus stop and quite a lot of cars to Rogatica/Sarajevo

Good spot, good visibility, helpful people on the gas station, only one disadvantage is little traffic. Anyway I get a car in 3min and actually they were going to Sarajevo, I wanted to get only to Mokra Gora at that moment.
