I stood there with a sign saying "Ruse." The problem was that it was already late for such a long journey (8 p.m.). However, one guy offered to take me to Pleven. There is a lot of traffic at the gas station and at the exit.

Not a bad spot for getting out of Pleven, easily reached by public transportation. You will probably first get a ride to Dolni Dubnik or around there from where most traffic will be going to Sofia.

If you take some bus out of Pleven, you can ask to be dropped off here and hitch here towards Sofia, where traffic from both roads merges.

Enough room for cars to pull over. It is an exit to Pleven,Sofia.
