Everyone going to Plovdiv… was standing on the bus stop

Asked one guy at the gas station and gave mea ride near to Plovdiv

Car are not going very fast but noone wanted to stop. After 50min I changed the sign to Nova Zagora and the truck driver took me to Banya, 55km from Plovdiv

Sign to Plovdiv but he gave me a ride to Gurkovo only, what was not a very good choice… there I stayed for one hour to get a ride..

Sign to Plovdiv, got a ride to Veliko Tarnovo

A nice rest area for cars to stop, held a sign for Plovdiv but the first car that stopped for me ended up being on the way to Burgas so I got a ride there.

Best spot to exit Asenovgrad towards Plovdiv, Sofia etc

Very good place to find a car to Plovdiv

Prendre le bus numéro 1 puis marcher 45 minutes jusqu’à la bretelle d’autoroute. Sans panneau, deux voitures se sont arrêtées en 15 minutes mais les deux allaient vers l’Ouest. Après 40 minutes d’attente au totale, un homme s’arrête et nous (ma femme et moi) dépose à la frontière Turque (notre destination). Bon spot pour sortir de Plovdiv

Very nice couple took me right to the center of plovdiv from the gas station. The spot was alright, if you stand at the exit people have time to read the sign and still stop for you

Great spot for Plovdiv. Take bus 5 and then walk for 30 mins and it’s super easy, got picked up right away

We tried to hitchhike to Istanbul. Overall, the location seemed quite good, but we had significant difficulties – few drivers were heading to Istanbul; most were heading towards Burgas, and the Turks heading to Istanbul were reluctant to pick up additional passengers. Eventually, we managed to hitchhike to a gas station outside Plovdiv.

An excellent location under the highway to catch a ride from Plovdiv to Sofia. This is where the ramp to the highway begins, and vehicles have sufficient time and space to stop.

Got dropped here in the early morning and very quickly got taken by a truck driver to Plovdiv. Seems to be a good spot.

My ride from the day before had invited me to stay the night and took me to the other side of Sofia to a great spot towards Plovdiv early in the morning.

I first tried to take the road south of Sofia towards Plovdiv, but people to Plovdiv are actually using the highway north of Sofia. Not very good place, seems like only local people stop. I got invited to spend the night in the Apartment of a couple as it was getting late. In the morning the woman took me to the other side of Sofia to a much better spot towards Plovdiv.

Most traffic is going to Burgas. Got stuck here all sunday afternoon + monday morning. Cars are full, I asked to truck drivers but all declined until one drive me tl little before Svilengrad. For Turkey better to wait longer to get a direct ride from Sofia/Plovdiv.
