Than we want to go anywhere from this place, and go and ask every car to get out of there. In 45 minutes come one lady and say that she can go to the Zadar. Good spot, it is the magistrale on the coast. Some people stop there to park an swim, but we got a ride directly to split. I stood at the split between the exit and the motorway on the concrete section, trying to head north. There is a fairly wide shoulder for cars to pull over. Cars were going fast. Although the police saw me, they didn’t do anything, even though it's still a motorway with "no pedestrian" signs. Had a nightmare getting out of here but I think I was unlucky.Recommend asking for rides to next service station, most rides far to Split or Zadar are full tourist cars. Also speaking to people works much better than just a sign (they'll dismiss you if they're not going to where the sign says)

Most cars are going to the highway from 2 directions, so it's the best chance to get out of Split. We got picked up after 1 hour and 30 minutes by a guy going to Sinj, so additionaly you can do a sign for Sinj and then asked to be left at Dugopolje, where you can hitchhike from the tolls. Just a gas station, you have to ask to get somewhere. If you're lucky, you can probably get all the way to split, but most people pass it on the way to the airport. This place is okay, because there is a lot of space for the cars to stop (it's a bus stop, those are the best). Sign to ŠI/ST (šibenik/Split)We got picked up by a guy going all the way to Split, but he needed to do something in Šibenik, so he left us at a restaurant and promised to come back for us and he didn't. It was quite shitty, but he helped us a lot and he was nice. Lesson learned: always take a phone number if you agree on something like that.
