bus stop on the E18 towards Göteborg and Oslo. I was going towards Oslo and my ride was going southwest so i asked to be dropped off in Grums, thats the last town before the roads Split.

if you stand right at the roundabout exit this can be a great spot. its before the lanes split going onto the autoroute, theres lots of cars going both east and west so bringing a sign is necessary. we got a lift with a sign for besançon very quickly, theres a mcdonalds across the road where you can ask for cardboard or use their bathroom.

Spot is okay with a bus stop and space for cars to stop. Did here for 2,5 hours in the afternoon but had to take a bus in the end. Direction sibenik tried with thumb and then with sign to split.

Spot is good with cars going slowly and a gas station nearby. Had a sign to split and stood here from 8 to 11. Nobody stopped and i ended up taking a ride to the next town. However this messed me up as i was unable to make my way to split. Prefer the highway.

Waiting for a ride to split. I got approached by a local on foot which kicked me out of the town. He was pissed at me, only spoke Croatian and refused to collaborate using a translator. Had to walk to next bus stop on the side of the road. Spot is otherwise okay.

Hitching with 3 people, the spot looked pretty good with quite some traffic and gas station but we still had to wait for some time. Eventually got picked up by a funny couple. When we had to wait in line at the border, the driver wanted to get as close as possible to the car in front of us. Then at one point he kept going and his girlfriend was like what are you doing?? And then he bumped into the car in front of us and that car bumped into the one in front of him. And we where shocked in the back seat. The guy said that he confused the brake pedal with the clutch pedal! We didn't really understand how any driver could confuse that especially since he was a driver by profession hahaha. Well, he paid some money to the angry people outside and that was that. A bit later on, when we were on the road again, suddenly around a corner there were cows on the road. One calf was totally unimpressed by our presence and didn't move an inch. This time, our guy managed to find the brake. A split second later, a car appeared behind us and had to break and swerve to the side in order not to hit us or the cows...
After some interesting conversations we reached the beautiful small town of Trebinje. What a day

Awful spot. Waited for three hours to go to split from 15:30 to 18:30 with no success. Got lots of reactions from drivers but nobody stopped. However there is lots of traffic and space to stop.

First tried to hitchhike north from here at 1pm, and failed utterly - gave up after three or four hours in the freezing wind, trying various spots in the immediate area. Came back next morning at about 11am and got a ride all the way to Puerto San Julian where I had a couchsurfer waiting for me. I recommending standing west of the highway interchange, as cars are emerging from it. Under the bridge some of the cars will be going slower, but the ones coming from town are in the wrong lane and the ones coming from the bypass are distracted by having to merge onto the highway. Whether you're going north or west, consider accepting a ride to the "Güer Aike" (pronounced "Where I K" police checkpoint about 25km west of here, which is before the split and the police are reportedly helpful.

Its a good spot if you want to go rijeka/zadar/split. We stood with a sign at the exit of the station but you can ask people instead. Hard to get there though

Good place.
A decent amount of traffic, although most of it are full cars going on vacation.
Got there in the morning by bus from Zagreb, and found a shade at the end of the gas station.
A couple going on vacation took us all the way to Vodice on the coast near Split.

We camped in the forest nearby, so it made sense for us to hitchhike from here. There is probably a better option somewhere outside of Lysekil before the roads split. Anyways, we quickly got a ride by some Germans to a roundabout up north.

Route 14 - Buenos Aires

We were two and as we failed we decided to split and after that we find ride in 30-60 minute.
Be insist with your tumb to truck drivers.
If you are lucky you can find a ride to Capital but most of cars split after Zarate so if you stuck in Zarate intersection ask people for 194 Bus station which is 3500 Pesos.

As we experience waiting long time is common in Argentine.

We were two Backpacker from Germany and Turkey (male) waited here almost 2 and half hour . After we failed we decided to split and we went under the bridge which Cars slow down and they come over bridge so after moving under the bridge finding ride was better as a solo!

I spent too much time here. I thought it would be easy to go to Split (I had on my sign), but the opposit was true. Try to get just any ride, I drove to Odmorište Prokljan, where it was much much easier to move forward
