Good spot. Big tolls so get your biggest sign ! ;) I went to Lyon and some people go up north (Paris/Oyonnax): you can still jump in there car and be dropped to a gas station before the roads split

spend the night here and started looking for rides in the morning when people showed up. lots of workers going to avignon and the surroundings, so i stopped on marguerittes. the idea was to catch traffic going northwards, so it was important to go furher from the split towards east

An old man took us. It's not a bad place as it's quite but the roads split and most cars don't go eastward along the coast. We ended up taking a short ride to Gotsu after passing many.

To be honest, from my experience, Szczuczyn is not a great place for a hitchhiker. Multiple roads go in the same direction from here, and cars split. I wanted to reach Suwałki, so it might have been better to take the highway rather than a local ride to Grajewo. If going from the south and able to do so, avoid Szczuczyn and Grajewo at all.

Decent spot for traffic to see you. The split in the road can give cars a spot to stop but might cause some traffic and angry honks. Best to have a sign as the highway splits north and east further up

Very average I would say. I’m trying to get to Istanbul and I can’t exactly recommend this way but also I’m not sure how good the old roads and town hopping is anymore. Hopefully some hitchhikers take the town hopping route and we can judge in 2025/2026. Got dropped off at the gas station before the road split towards istanbul

Non ride despite having a "Split" Sign (2ppl)

There is no good place for drivers to stop on this road. There is a barrier for like kilometers, so I used small crossroad and it worked good. I had sign Opuzen and I recommend it. It should be quite easy to get to main road in Opuzen and then you can go to Dubrovnik/Split

Stand a bit further, where the on and oframp split. There's a side rod there where drivers can pull in. Had a few offers for direction Brussels but I waited for a ride towards Lille and got it after 38 minutes.

I was dropped off here by a local, but had to wait here quite some while before someone picked me up. Spot itself isn’t bad, people can see you and your sign and have a place where to stop before and after the toll. I had a sign Split/Zagreb. Eventually an American couple stopped and they were driving to Ljubljana!!!

Don´t start too early in the morning. We did and there was not too much traffic. After unsuccessfully trying to hitch the country road we came back split up and found a lift for each of us pretty quickly.

Trucker from Kyrgyzstan took me all the way to the 80/84 split east of Salt Lake.

Good amount of traffic goes by here. We asked around at the gas station and stood by the split with a sign where all the cars come through. Got a ride all the way to Arnhem with a dutchie.

The spot was good with plenty of cars leaving Angers and room to stop. But I don't know if it works for long distance, since the driver offered to drop me at the Bauné area few kilometers away on the highway and just before the highways A11 and A85 split.

Duo, m/f Sunday morning Fine spot for going west. Thumbed at the exit for 15 minutes, then we split and I decided to try with a sign next to the highway. Technically it's highway but theres an extra lane to pull over on, weird design but got us a ride straight to Warsaw (sign said warsaw)

Tried to move towards Italy. The spot is okay to go towards Gotthart. Many people move towards Bern though.aybe try to catch the Autogrill after the A1 and A2 split. During Holidays most cars are full of luggage. Found a guy who took us towards Como eventually, which was great. I would say the spot is alright but not great.
