cars going really slow because police takes time to control the passports not many people going into montenegro an not many stopped, evetually somebody stopped and we (2 people) had to split up because they could only take one police didn't alow us to go in before the post and ask the people in their cars might be smarter to just do it or wait before the post and ask the drivers and if you find somebody crossing the border by foot and then to get into the car.

Many people stopping and eating, first guys i asked took me to Split

Quite good spot if your aiming for Zagreb or füttern sout-east I wanted to go to Split and very few drove to that direction, had to take a ride to zagreb and then walk out of the city

Was trying to go to hortobagy but noone stoped for me even tho the spot is nice. Big bus stop and sometimes there is lights where cars stop. But eventually some car stopped and took me to the next split in the road

I met other hitchhikers here! we were going different directions so split ways very soon again, I just got a lift to the next rest stop on motorway, cars are kinda fast but I guess there's soo much space

Decent spot- think I got unlucky with the timing and there wasn’t much traffic - had a sign that said JUG Split and finally got a truck going south

Had a sign that said Jug Split. Got super lucky, there was nearly no traffic for an hour and the 4th car that came through took me - a Dutch guy that was heading to Himare. Was with him for 2 days heading down. Top bloke.

Started hitchhiking in the afternoon with a sign reading Split and a Slovenian guy took us all the way to Zadar where he offered us that he'll drive us to Zagreb the next day (it was late when we got to Zadar) which we happily accepted

kinda low traffic and many drivers are retuning back to Split, but there is big chance some driver will take you to the toll station

If u want to Go to Vienna, don't. Almost everyone goes to the south or their Cars are completely filled. After 2 hours three other hitchhikers joined me and we asked Split Up and asked around. I was able to get the First Ride bc the guy had only one place left.

Good spot to get picked up if you’re going toward Jönköping and onward. We were offered rides as far as Lund and Helsingborg. Traffic slows down in the roundabout, and there’s space to stop by the road. You’re also clearly visible from the parking lot by the Sibylla. If you want to go along the West side of Vättern (towards Skövde), a tip is to hitch a ride to Stjärnsund (about 5 mins away), where roads 49 and 50 split. On the 49, all traffic is going in the direction of Skövde.

Waited around 40 minutes without any cars stopping. Switched spot but ended up coming back to try again and got picked up after ten minutes all the way to split. We stood after the toll booth bc there is a lot of space to pull over but many cars are just speeding up right after the toll booths.

we tried to get so split but no one took us, we had a huge sign with „split, jug, south“ then we changed sides and the next car took us to Zadar gaz station

Good spot a lot of cars are stoping by. In 30 min 4 Cars stops to offer to take one of us. But we didnt wanna split. After 30min we got a ride all the way to Triest:)

We were hitchhiking in a group of four, we planned to split into pairs. The driver took all four of us, bought us water and sunflower seeds.

3 ppl going south we were hoping to just get to Ancona on our first day but in the end got picked up by a guy going to Foggia so we stopped in Termoli. He asked us if we could split the highway fare tho :(

This is a great spot, there is a lot of trafic and a lot of people going long distaces. Drivers can stop here easely, a few of them stop there to take pictures, so you can ask them directly. We made a sign and got pick up almost immedeately. A very nice Kanadian man took us straight to Split.

(2 people, f, 26 + m, 49) We split up. One of us approached drivers at the gas station while the other tried hitching from the side of the road. One car stopped and asked for money. Shorty after got a lift us to Suceava from the side of the road. The driver was very kind and took a huge detour. He brought us to the station just in time to hop on our train.
