This probably used to be a good spot but the McDonald's is not here anymore and there is only a Shell gas station. The station is basically empty and there are almost no cars or trucks. We got lucky and got a ride to Zagreb with a romanian guy who was taking a nap in his parked car. I would highly suggest to not hitchike in this place. Only luck got us out.rating: 2/5, wait: 80 min 💬, ride: 186 km ↙

We left the place after an hour and took train to Kupljenovo on the highway. The place seemed relatively good, but cars from Zagreb are above, on the bridge, and half of cars from Zapresic are just going on highway to the southrating: 1/5

We took a train ride from Graz as we didn’t feel like hitchhiking from the city. There is a plenty of space in surrounding area to camp as well. We got to this petrol station around 10am. There was already a lot of traffic mostly fully packed family cars. We cold approached drivers and got a ride all the way to Zagreb.rating: 4/5, wait: 120 min 💬, ride: 154 km ↓

croatia joined schengen in 2023 so this border is no longer strictly controlled and cars might be more willing to pick you up. but still, if you can, try get dropped at the service station before this one. we might have been here longer but we got a ride quick enough to zagreb from someone going to bosnia.rating: 3/5, wait: 30 min 💬+🪧, ride: 28 km →

a lot of german, austrian and hungarian cars here going north and east as well as slovenians going to maribor, less traffic for zagreb but that was maybe the time of the year. very busy spot but in summer mostly families or cars with not enough room for two hitchhikers. we tried first asking for rides to zagreb but got a lift after we put novo mesto on a sign and asked around.rating: 3/5, wait: 60 min 💬+🪧, ride: 119 km →

Decent placeNot much traffic.
Got dropped here by a local, so I would say probably one of the best places to get a ride towards Slovenia - Croatia.
A guy noticed our sing and we managed to get with him all the way to Zagreb.

Good place.A decent amount of traffic, although most of it are full cars going on vacation.
Got there in the morning by bus from Zagreb, and found a shade at the end of the gas station.
A couple going on vacation took us all the way to Vodice on the coast near Split.

Not many cars going to Zagreb but it is possible to find a ride here. You can charge your devices in the gas station and eat and prepare a meal outside on the benches.
We first tried asking people directly on the station but due to the lack of traffic we decided to stand with a sign and a thumb on the exit to the highway and got a ride after about an hour

Got stuck here a whole sunday plus a good hour on monday morning before I get a ride to Zagreb airport. Little traffic, mostly local, all cars with croatians plates were either packed or not caring at all.If you come from Maribor, better to stick to the traffic light in Hoče.

Many cars going to Rjeka, Pula and Zagreb, not many going south. Also lots of Romanians and Bosnians, but most cars don’t have a whole lot of space, so better for solo travelers. Got a ride to Zagreb after asking someone with the right numberplate. Nice and helpful staff at the gas stationrating: 3/5, wait: 120 min 💬+🪧, ride: 193 km ↘

We (two guys) first waited on the feeder road to Zagreb Highway but then switched to here. There is still the cut open fence, but right beneath the cesta dveh cesarjev you can find a door through the fence as well.First businessman on his way to Split offered to take us with him.
