Have sign novo mesto, Zagreb. My goal it's to just go out of the city, and next find some gas station.

Waited near the exit for 2 hrs with sign to zagreb hr. Probably one Croatian car every few minutes but mostly full family cars. No luck and gave up.

Nice station going to Zagreb. Got there from the overpass west of there, then slipped under the bridge and after jumping the fence (1.5m high, pretty accessible) had to go along the rail for 100m or so. The station can host many trucks but there weren’t that many of them on an early summer Wednesday. In the end I approached mostly people at the gas station. Also, the toilets cost 1€ but easy to hide behind a truck.

Hole in fence is still there. Path a bit overgrown but okay. Definitely worth it if going towards Zagreb.

Great spot for going East (Ljubljana in my case). Asked everyone for a lift and a truck driver took me on his way to Zagreb. Employees said hi, pretty cool folks. But I didn’t dare take my LJ sign out in case the Police stopped by (happened to me in Padova)

Great Gas Station for Zagreb, friendly staff, gave me cardboard and marker to write Zagreb, people bought me water. Had to wait less than 10 mins for a ride directly to Zagreb

Bad spot for SLO. Everyone stays around in Zagreb

Many cars with Zagreb plates and there is enough space to stop.

IMPORTANT: this worked before the autobahn was finished! got a ride to Zagreb from girl going to Slovenia. Cars go slow after roundabout, place to stop. In the middle of nowhere, but i was dropped off here.

Not much traffic (I'd say about 15 cars per hour), cars had mostly local plates or were full for the holidays. We were trying to get a ride to Zagreb, but after an hour of trying we accepted an offer from a trucker going to Varaždin.

The spot is not bad, there are definitely cars heading to Celje or Ljubljana, but not much traffic to Zagreb. The traffic is too fast to stop, but the cars often stop at the red light. We (a guy and a girl) stood with two signs Zagreb and Ptuj. We got taken to Ptuj and the driver said that he was going elsewhere, but he changed his way to take us to Ptuj.

Got lucky a guy bring us to the gas station after Slovenia border but there is not so much cars, mostly with Zagreb shields

Cars going too fast 2-3 cars stopped and could bring me to Zagreb and one guy took Budapest, but I wanted to Ljubljana Decided to go to another spot

Asked people and then one guy took me to Zagreb

Honestly shocked that others say that this spot is shit for Budapest and good for Vienna — I had exactly the opposite experience hitchhiking to Austria! Three hours waiting with a sign for ‘Graz’ (I was on my way to Zagreb), and the only offer in that direction that I got was to a town just over the border. Yet three people stopped to ask if going to Budapest would help, and two more people stopped to apologize that they were going to Budapest! I had banked on people going to Vienna making the connection that Vienna is on the way to Graz, but as hour three closed I made a sign for Vienna, and it was STILL another hour. There is no shade at the on-ramp and it gets hot. The traffic is a steady trickle but honestly not that much. I would try another spot next time, no question. Lots of space in the surrounding area to camp unseen, though, if this spot does serve you. I walked here from the end of the tram line at night to cross the highway with less traffic and start early (not that the early start helped!), and was at least well rested for the frustration.

My friend and I waited here with a sign saying Zagreb and got picked up alm immediately by a beekeeper. Now I know what Royal Jelly is! 10/10 can recommend

In theory great spot for Split/Rijeka/Zagreb, it's just full of tourists that don't take people and for the truckers it's good to catch them at the right time(for me early morning, as i slept here)

I got quite unlucky at the southern spot and went to the gas station, asking a trucker gave me a ride to zagreb in 5 minutes...

waited at the end of the station without a sign, took five minutes for a truck driver to stop who would've gone all the way to zagreb
