waited at the end of the station without a sign, took five minutes for a truck driver to stop who would've gone all the way to zagreb

honestly, I hate it. if you ask around the McDonald's - you lose truck traffic and mcdrive. if you hold mcdonalds lane, 80% of the cars turn left to Maribor and you are just wasting energy. standing at the exit towards Zagreb/Ljubljana and no one stops. not even asks. I may have been EXTREMELY unlucky, but something is off here.

Not the ideal but probably the best to go out of Zagreb. I took bus 281 but you can also take bus 276. A car stopped after 20mn but they were going north. Got a ride to Slavonski Brod after an hour. Thank you Šimečka. You will need a big cardboard and you can find some in the trash in the corner of the gas station outside.

Nice bus stop. Bunch of cars with families or old couples that won't stop and the cool kids cars are already packed. Aimed for Zagreb but accepted Zadar and took the bus there.

Hitchhiking from here towards Zagreb is about as much fun as chewing off your own tongue and then choking on it. Maybe good to Beograd, but I waited at least two days.

I don't know if I was really lucky but I found(ask around) ride 150 km. That guy went to the Zagreb. Bur drivers that I asked before, they were locals.

First car accepted me. You can take train from Zagreb to Kupljenovo after that 20 min walking .keep in mind that you have to cross the highway to the opposite side if you are going towards Slovenia, when I was there there wasn't much traffic, January morning weekday

If you're going to maribor like me, dont be picky, take the first car even if Its going to zagreb centre, And Hop on a train direction zabok, exit at kupljenovo station and walk around 30 minutes to the gas station. I was picky And wanted to go straight to slovenia, but all Cars went to zagreb.

Croatians dont take hitchikers. Still i thing this place Is better than the bus station uphill, if you go in direction zagreb.

Worth to go there. I was going to exit ramp with sign Zagreb and rider approached me before I started to hike. You can get there from Cesta Dveh Cesarjev, then go down to the bushes between golf field and highway. There is a small path. Go with the highway fence to the metal gate. Gate is closed but just next to it there is a hole in the fence.

Most traffic goes to Lublana. I had a sign with Zagreb on, but it can be really difficult to get someone further than LJ.

I was dropped off here by a local, but had to wait here quite some while before someone picked me up. Spot itself isn’t bad, people can see you and your sign and have a place where to stop before and after the toll. I had a sign Split/Zagreb. Eventually an American couple stopped and they were driving to Ljubljana!!!

Takes some time to get a ride. Probably because of the no Autostop sign. People only go in the direction of Zagreb m. If you wanna go south, you should take a ride to dobra gas station. You can get to the other side of the highway via a tunnel.

2 guys with backpacks, we tried the hitchhike spot from the guy from 2013 and it still kinda works. High traffic, drivers have nice place to stop, but very very low success rate. Waited 135 minutes until we got a ride to Zagreb. Got 2 signs: "Zagreb" and "highway". Got there by bus from Zadar from the main bus station. It was bus number 4 but these things change over time. Just get to the main bus station and I strongly believe you will manage. Long wait but got all the way to Zagreb

It’s a very good spot! The ferry goes every 30 min and you can get on for free as a passenger. You can try ask cars before they go on the ferry, but it’s quite busy and people might not be in the headspace for it, since they are focused on following instructions to get on. Rather go on the ferry and ask people there or make a sign and stand there while people get on. I personally looked for german license plates first and asked them (my final goal was germany), but when they didn’t take me in, I pulled out my sign. One of the cars that I asked took me in after all, when they saw that zagreb would be ok as well, they weren’t sure if they’d drive all the way to germany because of their kid. I hitchhiked in the morning around 10 am and a they took me all the way to Zagreb, which is great.

Good Spot to go to Croatia but you need some time, I stood at the exit with a sign Zagreb Lubljana, possible to sleep near the River

Mostly all local plates and some to Zagreb. Most people didn’t look at me, tough crowd. Little shade place to protect yourself from the sun. After two hours I just walked to the station and got a bus.
