Towards Tallinn, great spot, very good visibility and low speeds, the bus stop also has a speeding up lane before it so you can stop anything here, wait times of 5-15 minutes expected

Perfect spot to go to Tallinn, we just stayed under the "Tallinn 177km" sign on the road and a car picked up both of us in 15 minutes directly to the city

Quite large Gas station with a lot of people going very far to Tallinn

Towards Risti/Tallinn, cars stopping here will most likely go at least to Risti, good visibility, and wide enough bus stop, wait times of 5-10 minutes expected, generally good spot all around

Towards Palivere/Tallinn, a small bus stop with okay visibility, you can also try the wider roadside by the Taebla school's turn, however a bus stop seems to be working a bit better here, wait times of 20-30 minutes expected

Temporary 5 star spot towards Tartu, due to the roadworks at Mäo cross which has closed both the entries to Tallinn-Tartu highway, which means all the cars coming from Rakvere-Paide road have to use the Mäo old road means low speeds and wide area for cars to stop on the speeding lanes, which means fast pickups, wait times of 5-15 minutes right now, (roadworks have been going on since May)

Towards Vasula, good spot, large area for cars or lorries to stop, you may catch a car going towards Jõgeva, Tallinn direction however mostly its locals, wait times of 10-20 minutes expected

For this spot didnt feel too good. Cars just go so fast here and they will not want to stop. Idk about other spots out of tallinn but maybe this is the best one. But if you get a ride most likely its a long one. Got one to almost Riga. But for driver stop he must be comitted to pick hitchhiker up. There place to stop and they see but the speed are the problem even for cars coming from the side.

I had an interesting time standing here late in the evening. Has ton of space to stop but not the best visibility because there is a hill in front so it blocks a view but if you stand at the end of bus stop there should be enough time for driver to decide. But either way i got offer to pay 100 euros for two boys to take me to helsinki even tho they are going there and grind never stops for them. But then i laughed and declined. In 5 minutes arrived a romanian guy going back to romania from nordkapp. And he was planning to go on ferry to tallinn which i needed also in the morning so we agreed to sleep in one of parking spots and go together to the ferry. Good gas station. Quite a lot of traffic in all directions: Riga, Tallinn, Viljandi. After 20 mins we got a straight ride to Tallinn.

Had no luck getting a ride straight to Tallinn, but it's a good spot

perfect spot in theory, but no one stopped. tried thumb, tried sign with Tallinn and sign with EST. ended up taking the bus closer to the border to filter out local traffic more, but if you wait longer you can definitely get a ride north.

probably as mentioned earlier by estohiker the best spot out of tallinn. both speeding cars coming from the city and those from the mall are fine.

Wide roadside, basically a gamblers spot as you can catch a car coing towards Lasnamäe, Maardu or to the Tallinn roundabout direction- Narva/Tartu/Pärnu, or even to Muuga (less likely due to the next turn being of the cars for that). Would recommend taking any car that takes you further. Seems like a spot where noone would stop and you will have loads of cars go by you, but never say never, as somehow I have managed to get always a car here before the rarely seen busses, if you feel lucky, definitely try this here, just make sure to be not too close to the bus stops as there's almost always someone waiting for a bus, ruining your chances of getting a car, wait times of 5-30 minutes expected

To Tallinn, aim for the cars coming from Jüri, basically everyone that uses Viadukti road heads at the least to Mõigu, where you can catch the Tallinn's city bus, though most cars head even further in to the city. Loads of traffic, and small but good enough space to stop a car, wait times of 5-15 minutes expected

Towards Puurmani, very low traffic, but locals are friendly, you can hitch basically anywhere along the road, walk along the road, wouldn't recommend being here very late or very early, otherwise good road with chance of getting cars or lorries going all the way to Tallinn for example, due to factories around Tabivere, wait times of 5-20 minutes expected

Towards Muuga/Viimsi/Pirita, nice bus stop which truth be told isn't the largest but does the job, place has streetlights and due to it being basically in Tallinn would have 24/7 traffic, try to make sure the car stopping goes the direction you want, wait times of 10-20 minutes expected

Towards Aovere, but a lot of the cars taking this exit actually usually go quite some long distance (Mustvee/Jõhvi/Jõgeva/Tallinn etc). The turn itself isn't the best, not the most amount of room but you will be able to stop anything due to the low speeds, don't be hesitated about most cars staying on Tartu-Räpina highway, try to aim cars coming from Räpina direction - those are the long distance ones, wait times of 15-45 minutes expected

I stood just before the bus stop/gas station. Perfect spot for Tallinn. Sign highly recommended though. Fairly slow speeds for such a big road and good visibility.

Very good spot towards Risti/Haapsalu/Tallinn. Not a lot of traffic and loads of cars turn the other directions, but the odds of a car picking you up here are pretty good, as well as loads of long distance cars, every time i have been here the driver has been going to Tallinn, which is very nice, as well as two good options on the way for Haapsalu, so all in all a really nice wide stop with good visibility, wait times of 5-25 minutes to be expected
