2 hitchers, got a lift towards Oulu

Best place in Ii i reckon. For north at least. Only one lane forward and there is lights in front of the bus stop so the cars go slow (no roof on the stop though). There are many people from Oulu going to Tornio at all times of the year but idk about how good it would be at night. This is also in the Bible belt of Finland so there is higher likelihood of running into a gooder person who picks you up. Also many Norwegian tourists in the summer who could take you straight to kilpisjärvi or norway

100% agree with the others, i got taken in almost 1 car to jyvaskyla :)) the bus stop is awesome, plenty of traffic and full of space to stop all of them go south so probably the best spot under oulu 😺 good luck !

ahahahah wtf i just meet a guy who drop me to rovaniemi and then to oulu also!!!! what an unexpected meeting ahahahah (under the rain and all ahahah) maybe asking the cars will get u further, there are a lot of ppl even on summer 😌😌😌 good luck and say hi to santa claus for me please

I would say its amazing spot because cars drive so slow and there is a lot of space to stop. But i was trying to get to Oulu early at morning like 8. So ig there wasnt a lot of shopper going back to Finland but eventually one lady took me.

We waited a lot because it was quite late in the evening around 22 so very low traffic but just before giving up at 23 we got a ride to Palokka Abc which was amazing way to strat tomorrow towards Oulu. Big bus stop. Cars go slower a bit and good visibility.

Better spot than the ramp! 2 drivers I heard talk about a hitchiker that was on that ramp could not react to them in time, so they were only able to pick me up. This may be the best spot going south from Oulu!

Arguably the best place to leave Oulu region if you’re able to get to the bus stop from the city and heading towards Helsinki.

Had a sign for Oulu, was expecting quite a while, literally within a minute from putting my sign up a lovely finnish man pulls over and takes me to Liminka.

We tried at the gas station entrance at least half an hour. Then we walked to this spot and caught a ride after 5 min. It has begun to get dark, both spots might work better earlier. The driver had already seen us at the gas station and take us to Oulu.

Towards Oulu. Better to use the bus stop, asking people at the gas station might work as well. The driver could've taken us to Sievi, but we hopped off at Pihtipudas. (2 of us)

Great spot for Oulu. Pretty much everyone from here go there.

At evening time there are lights, good visibility for cars and by now most locals have turned to sideroads, direction Oulu, wait times of 20-30 minutes

We have tried to catch a car to Oulu Sunday noon. There was a few cars and enough place for them to stop.

People going out of work. Find a guy to go north of Oulu. Lot of locals but worked for me

Not so much traffics but find a ride straight to Oulu

On the way north, waited with an Oulu sign. Got a short-ish ride to ABC Kirvaskangas relatively quickly. Not a perfect spot for cars to stop, but good enough. Walkable from the city center.

We were on the way north to Oulu. The first person we asked offered to take us 300km most of the way there to Kempele.

Bus stop next to the highway, there is also a gas station here. Speed limit increases from 60 to 100 km/h immediately after the bus stop, so choosing one or two bus stops earlier might be nicer for the cars to be slower (speed limit is 60 all throughout Kuivaniemi and there is a camera at one of the bus stops so cars actually go slowly) . But there is plenty of space to pull over, I got super lucky and after about 30 minutes a truck stopped for me and took me to Oulu. (Female, summer, daytime)
