totally agree, perfect spot to helsinki from tampere lots of cars and plenty of space to stop place yourself before the bus station good luck then :) (kebab in the other way is really good btw)

A big bus stop right after the intersection, good visibility and an old gas station next to it. Got a ride to Jämsä from a driver heading to Tampere while I was heading to Helsinki.

Good space for cars to stop, and nice starting point towards Turku area. Easy to reach with Tampere local busses.

a man approached me and offered a ride straight to Tampere. i just got lucky because there was almost zero traffic on a Saturday afternoon.

Stood with Tampere sign, cars come slow out the station and rather good amount of traffic

Walked there from Kamppi. In just under an hour we got a ride all the way to Tampere.

Good for getting to Tampere. Got a ride within 15 minutes waiting at the exit.

Managed to get a ride to Hämeenlinna that goes through Tampere. A lot of cars.

6min and we got a ride to Oulu. Low traffic and a bus stop. We came from Tampere and got a ride to Jyvskyl, but stopped already here 25km before Jyvskyl to get a good place to continue our journey to Rovaniemi. (If your going to Rovaniemi and you get a ride from this spot to Oulu, I would recommend getting out 25km before Oulu at the large traffic circle and stay there until you get a direct ride to Rovaniemi)

To Tampere a good place to hitchhike early in the morning (later a lot of trafic). It is easy to get there, many buses from center stop there. A lot of space to stop (and a bus stop in the end). You should get a ride in an hour.

got a ride to a place 30km from Tampere direction Jyväskylä. I used a "TRE" sign.

We were lucky, the first car stopped and took us to Tampere.

A lot of local traffic, but still the best bet for Tampere direction. If travelling light, even walkable (about 1h from downtown Helsinki), also blackriding the tram 10 is easy. If you get a short ride, be sure to get out at a petrol station (eg. Keimolanportti about 20 km away) rather than motorway junctions, which most are pretty quiet.
