There's decent space after the roundabout for cars to stop, later the road becomes a highway. Alternative route if you want to get past Mulhouse towards Besançon.

Not much traffic to go directly south further than Mulhouse, so I decided to go towards the D83 on a little detour to get to Besançon. Slower but effective.

No room for cars to stop at the end of the station, but they are still doing it. Refused one ride to Paris and one to Dijon before heading to Besançon with someone going to Montbéliard.

Stood with Lyon sign at the exit of the car area. First car stopped to Besançon, I took it. Accessed the gas station from behind as my previous driver didn't want to pay toll (there is one couple km before the station).

Very good spot in direction of Vesoul/Besançon. Cars have a lot of space to stop so its easy. We didn't wait more than 5min, in the morning so a lot of people on the road also. Directly to Vesoul

if you stand right at the roundabout exit this can be a great spot. its before the lanes split going onto the autoroute, theres lots of cars going both east and west so bringing a sign is necessary. we got a lift with a sign for besançon very quickly, theres a mcdonalds across the road where you can ask for cardboard or use their bathroom.

there is space to pull over after the sign but many drivers cant see it until they get off the roundabout. possible drivers to stop in the roundabout though, but theyd have to really want to because its a bit risky. we waited an hour with a sign for dijon, but got a lift when we switched to one saying A36. if you want to hitch from here bring a sign for Montbelliard or Besançon. traffic was good around mid day, you could probably get a lift really quickly during peak commuter hours.

Great spot to go to Besançon. I had the chance to be taken as far as Besançon, but I've been on this spot only once.

Most of the people are going to Lyon, and also some to Geneve, but it is possible to find to Besançon as well. A gas station, a shop, so it's nice

Once i was walking to a better spot but i decided to ask people at the traffic light and the 1st lady i asked drove me to Valentin's toll. Another time i struggled and had to walk 1hr to get ou of besançon

In the evening (19:30) we could not find a new ride, so we pitched our tent on the field behind the gas station. In the morning, there was more traffic and we found a ride to Besançon quite fast by walking up to people and asking.

Found a ride to Besançon within a few minutes. Seems to be a good spot for hitchhiking.

Plenty of place to stop after the peage, free toilets. Decent amount of traffic, but no one going to Mulhouse apparently. We waited 3h on a Saturday afternoon until someone took us to Besançon.

Didn't have the time to write on a cardboard that a family came to me asking my direction, and gave me a lift toward Besançon.
