As a solo woman, a two hours waiting time is really bad. I made a mistake while reading the map and hitchhiked there to go to Clermont-Ferrand / Lyon. There were many cars going to Bordeaux but almost none was going North. I think it is not worth taking the motorway to go to Clermont-Ferrand when starting there. This is why the cars do not use the motorway there (too expensive) and why I waited so long. I was lucky to have old friends going in the direction of Paris on that day, otherwise I think I might have stayed 4 hours there. It might be a good spot for Bordeaux / Spain. Please comment if this works.

I guess that this spot may be very good to go to Bordeaux. I went to the Massif Central area

I was waiting for a while to go south, but I think it would be easier to head north. Lots of trucks, McDonald's, showers and a hotel - big truck stop. Had a sign for Bordeaux but got a ride to Spain. I stood at the roundabout and it didn't work (little space to stop), but when I went to the end of the truck stop parking lot I got my ride in 15 min.

Good for Bordeaux, Paris…. Lots of family

we were there for one hour. we wanted to get to bordeaux but started defenitely too late. cars stopped every 10 minutes offering shorter rides. should have taken those. amazing spot !

Nice guy from the Betherlands drove me directly to my hostel in Bordeaux

Got near the gates so I could be visible. I was going to Bordeaux but a couple people that were going to Toulouse stopped!

Many many people, 30mn asking around at the exit of the station, finally worked out. Was arriving from Clermont and it allowed me to turn around on the higway, to go in the direction of Perigueux / Bordeaux.

Was hoping to get a ride to Bordeaux but ended up just trying to get a lift into Clermont-Ferrand to get a bus and hitch again from the other side. Was 38 degrees but still not much luck

Bien pour aller a Bordeaux, Mais impossible d'aller à Toulouse, on s'est fait ramener à Bordeaux pour chercher un autre spot pour Toulouse.

Got a direct spot to bordeaux, best to be near the petrol station.

We met at least 3 groups of hitchhikers going south, didn’t wait for to long and asked around the station, got a ride to Bordeaux :)

At 2 am two very tired guys handed us the key to their vehicle (after asking if I have a license). Got a ride to Bordeaux. Asked everyone in all the language we know Reaching the place at night was not easy at all, we walked through the industrial zone with the truck then had to reach the truck rest area through a thin path seemingly drawn by a previous hitchhiker, climbed to the bridge and walked on the side of the highway entrance.

Got a ride really quickly, one person all the way to a gas station close to tulle, hoping to get to Bordeaux today

We had two signs one for Basel and other one for France, we wanted to travel to Bordeaux. I think it's a great spot to got to Switzerland. Two males.

Well I say it again, this is a good spot. Many trafics so I recommend a big sign with thick letters. Also, I believe it's better to be in between 2 lanes. But be careful while crossing. I tried it to Bordeaux, Lyon, Paris and Millau and it worked all the time with in 90minutes

As every petrol station, ask directly and it works. First car asked offered a ride to Bordeaux

Went to ask the drivers directly, the station is small so it doesn't fell rushed or awkward. Found a car to la roche sur Yon, we are going to Bordeaux

It's a busy station, great to get to Bordeaux.
