After a while asking people at the gas station to get a ride to Caen, an employee came to me telling me that I can't hitchhike at tbe gas station, because it's 'private'. I told him the pumps might be some sort of private, but the rest of the parking lot surely isn't. He told me that's also private and that I couldn't ask people on the parking lot either. He said I should go to the departemental road and hitchhike there, to Caen. I refused his idiotic proposal. He then went back inside to call security or whoever he wanted to call. I went to the parking lot and found a car that drove me straight to the last gas station before Caen, part of the same company. I waved there to the cctv haha.

I went to Caen from here. There is a space to stop cars

Pas de mal de passage pour l'heure (20h), bon spot pour aller à Caen avec suffisamment de place mais peu de gens nous voyaient à cause de la nuit donc personne ne s'arrêtait. Au bout d'une heure, une dame nous a déposé jusque la porte de Bretagne à Caen

Les gens roulent très vite et le spot pour se garer n'est pas intuitif. Quelques personnes se sont arrêtées mais n'allaient pas où nous voulions (Caen). Nous avons attendus 3h avant que quelqu'un nous avance jusqu'à Saint Aubin..

Il y a une entrée d'usine pour que les gens puissent se garer mais ils roulent trop vite. Personne ne s'est arrêté donc nous avons changé de spot (direction Caen)

a lot of cars are passing, a lot of them are going to suburbs close to the station. We took 2 bus from Paris to arrive there. We found a ride to Caen in about 30 minutes while asking to people.

I was going direction Caen and got a ride in 10 minutes. It's quite safe to hitchike close to the rest area

You can take a bus and like 20 minutes walking and you are there. Best way to go directly to Roun or Caen

We waited for approx 40 min, about 3 cars stopped during that time but went to other directions (we asked for Caen or Mont Saint Michel), then a super nice lady stopped for us and took us all the way to Mont Saint Michel. There’s shade and tables outside plus free toilets so overall good spot, but the food etc is really expensive there. We asked around and then stood at the exist without a sign. The traffic was pretty solid even between 4-5pm which is pretty good i guess?

ne pas aller sur cet aire si vous vous allez au mont saint michel ce n’est pas directement sur le chemin même si l’aire porte ce nom la (la plupart vont vers caen). si bloqué je conseil de trouver des gens pour rejoindre la départementale vers le mont saint michel (plus direct)

très bon spot pour aller à caen/le mans, se placer bien avant le rond point (que les voitures puissent s’arrêter sur la droite). je recommande de fsire de grand geste de loin pour être vu et avoir une grande pancarte est 100% recommandé ici (ps: le spot est accessible avec le bus t4 depuis le centre)

très mauvais spot pour aller à caen, personne n’y va. j’ai finalement décidé d’aller à rouen pour repartir de la bas (pris en stop en 5 min le matin)

A lot of space for cars to pull over and take you, and a lot of tourists heading to Caen. Tried sitting here as 2 guys with a sign for Caen and got a ride directly to the city center within 15 minutes.

A lot of cars are just driving nearby. I had not that much luck, trying to get to Caen.

The spots from Rennes to Caen are not nice cause it goes directly from the ring to the highway But it works, for me it is the best place, the last entry before it splits, and the highway is free

Nobody's going to Caen There are a lot of cars and a lot of place to park but the people driving are unfriendly, i waited 2 hours, people don't say hello and don't smile, there are more chances that they make you a fuck 🖕, you should never go to Rouen it's one of the worst place to hitchhack in France
