It takes a long time to get to the station, we walked 35 min from Sarges Les Le Mans after 20min of bus from Le Mans trainstation but this spot is perfect ! A really big station si it was quite intimidating to ask people at first but the third person we asked took us and even brang us to the train station ( not on their road). It is hard to access but it’s worth the walk

We were two, goy stuck in Angers for a all day, nobody took us to Paris. We tried 3 différents spots and none of them worked, we had to take the train to Le Mans and go to a peage

got a lift here towards Le Mans on the smaller roads, as getting on the highway seemed tricky around Le Havre

Best spot to go to Angers from Cholet. People have space to stop and all so it's good. The only problem is that you will most likely arrive at the center of the city but it's not too bad to access other spots from there (at least the one going to Le Mans is really easy to go).

I waited there 5min on thursday and friday evening (6pm), I had a sign for the toll station (Péage St Arnoult) and got a lift for Limours-Janvry gas station. From there you can get everywhere West easily (Bordeaux, Le Mans, Rennes, Nantes etc). Everyone leaving Paris for west is going through this road.

It's the first petrol station after Rennes and it's hard to get to, but it's worth it!

Taken in a few minutes towards Le Mans by a young couple, the toll booth a few km further on looks to be a good spot too ;)

This is not a good place to head west, if you're heading towards Rennes, you'd better stop on the right of the town in the direction of Le Mans, if you're heading towards Angers, you can ask at the traffic lights if they can drop you off at the Jardins de Villandry service area 15km further on.
Taken in 30 min, then drive to Nantes

Best place to leave Paris heading west (NANTES,RENNES,ANGERS,LE MANS...)
At the roundabout, ask someone to take you to the Limours-Janvry service area (8min)
Alternative solution: we took an uber to the station (€12), from there it's extremely easy to get anywhere in 5 minutes.

Ok spot to go to PARIS or RENNES
This spot is quite special because people who take the toll can go east or west, there is a carpool area next to it to ask directly if you are in trouble.
If you're going to Paris, it's best to persuade someone who opens their window at the toll to drop you off at the Aire de La Sarthe-Sargé Le Mans (10min motorway).

The least worst place to get to PARIS/LE MANS
Getting to Paris from Rennes is a real challenge because there's no good place to hitchhike. I put up a "PEAGE LA GRAVELLE" sign and someone picked me up after 1 hour.
Position yourself on the roundabout before the exit to the ring road, there's plenty of room to stop.
Not very accessible by public transport, but still better than other roundabouts.
Info: I'm a young man of 23.

Also a good spot to go direction laval/Le Mans/Paris, easy to access. I wait at the light. People from south Bretagne must drive threw here to go to Paris. I've never waited more than 20min for a ride to the A81.

Waited a little while but a guy got me to straight past Le Mans. Better than the one close to the station.

Coming from Lorient, going to Paris. I was droped off there by another driver. I waited directly close to the road toll (peage) behind the safety barrier. If you wanna go to Paris, I think it's better if you can convince someone to take you to the gas station at the Aire de La Sarthe-Sargé Le Mans which is a bit more far still at Le Mans but directly on the A11 to go to Paris.
