Super stop pour aller plus loin que Lyon. Nous sommes allés jusqu’à Clermont

On trouve facilement ici pour la France, nous avons été jusqu’à Lyon

few cars are stopping at the gas station, and it is quite difficult for the cars to stop there (except at the traffic light) furthermore not so many cars really take A7 (that was my goal) as most of those heading south are ALREADY on A7 which goes above you... I have to find a better place to go outside Lyon!

Asked around for one hour or so with a sign with "Lyon" written on it. Paradoxically, this service area is so close to Lyon that nobody was going there, all the people were just taking a break before heading to further destinations. I gave up and walked to the nearby train station (25/30 min walk) and took the train for Lyon-Perrache

Service station with lots and lots of truck where you can even grab a coffee on the go I was holding a sign with "France" written on it and I tried both asking to the truck drivers and standing thumbs-up on the exit. Sadly, most of the truck drivers were going back to Turin. I got lucky to find a really kind polish driver that was going all the way to Troyes. My goal was to reach Lyon so he dropped me in a service area just outside the city

got there in the evening. not much traffic. maybe i'd try the gas station a bit more up north next time. found a ride that took my beyond lyon though which was reaply lucky

I believe it's the best place to cross the Montpellier without going into it. There's a lot of traffic in many directions. We've been asking everybody around and many people were going to the next city 60 km away or Lyon, fewer to Aix-en-Provence but it's the best way to Italy and we were heading to it. It's kinda hard to navigate on the map what's the best way to Italy cause there is a lot of roads crossing each other after Montpellier. We 2 guys got picked up by a father and son from Germany that were supposed to go to Monaco but on our way there the son got so angry he had no cigarettes left that he broke the car (tear out both the mirrors, started to throw things into the car) and told us to leave

Nous voulions aller vers Lyon en venant de Poitiers mais très peu de voiture s’arrête sur cette aire. Nous avons finalement réussi à trouver une personne qui nous a déposé dans le centre de Tours.

Très bon spot pour Paris vu que tout le monde y va. Par contre je descendais direction Clermont-Ferrand/Lyon, quasiment personne n'allait à Tours. Mais j'ai quand même fini par trouver, pour Lyon !

jours de trafic toujours moyen de trouver pour lyon et même facilement plus à l'est (grenoble, annecy...) ou vers le sud (vallée du rhone) recharge voiture électrique, station service, commerces, y aller en heure de pointe !

utilisé très souvent seule ou à 2, facile de s'arrêter, facile de trouver pour lyon/sainté/roanne ( et même montpellier en départ de weekend et vacances), utilisé pour aller à lyon et sainté, possibilité de se faire poser à l'aire de lezoux à 20min

pas mal de se mettre sur la voie d'accélération pour sortir de l'aire, pas mal de monde mais peut etre un peu long (on a eu qqun qui allait direct à lyon )

Stayed there the night, a lot of traffic but only to Lyon or near by cities. Nobody goes far

found nobody going further south then lyon, hitched a ride to lyon after some time

got a ride to lyon by asking around. many people there also going to germany or switzerland.

Had really bad luck traveling to the South in March from here, everybody was going to the Alps, but no matter in which direction the cars ate full, so I took a bus from Lyon to get weiter.

Good spot, went to lyon, almost got there with my ride.

Glad to see other comments replicate my experience. The truck driver who dropped us off here said there were going to be a lot of spanish trucks that could take us directly to Spain. We had our hopes up in the beginning, but we slowly lost hope... Basically, this is a good spot to go to Geneve. After some hours, we were just trying to go past Lyon into the A6 or A7 highway. Took a long time, but in the end we found a truck driver from Spain who, after a little bit of conversation, became willing to take both of us (a couple) all the way across the border. Lucky! I don't know what I would have done otherwise.

Good spot. Big tolls so get your biggest sign ! ;) I went to Lyon and some people go up north (Paris/Oyonnax): you can still jump in there car and be dropped to a gas station before the roads split
