Great spot for people to stop but Wednesday morning afternoon not much traffic going out of Lyon and south.

It was raining a bit and we stood there at around 3pm. Someone took us directly to the next gas station in the direction of Marseille, which is great for travelling further. Perfect spot to go south from Lyon.

Waited for a long time because many people were going to lyon and i was trying to go north to reach Paris. But when i was about to ask people instead of thumbing, a couple stopped and took me directly to Paris.

Got a ride to lyon pretty fast standing next to the roadsign. :)

VERY nice spot, many many many cars, and got an easy ride to Valence, could have gone all the way to Lyon and Paris tho, but it wasn't where i was trying to get

Saw multiple stoppeurs (without signs) at this spot when we arrived and also encountered one when we left. We used a sign to lyon (hard to source nearby cardboard but found some eventually). Seems like the spot!

Bon spot, à peine arrivé j’ai demandé à un monsieur s’il voulait m’emmener vers Lyon, il m’a dit sèchement « non désolé », avant de revenir me voir et de me proposer de l’emmener à Macon ! Ils allaient ensuite vers Genève

Debout avec un panneau "Paris". Énormément de touristes qui vont au sud direction Lyon. Au pire lâchez le panneau, si quelqu'un va vers Paris tant mieux, sinon faîtes-vous déposer à l'aire de Beaune et traversez la passerelle. De là-bas il est très simple d'aller à Paris.

I stood here with a sign "Lyon" on a Sunday evening. Only two rows of cars can see you there but I found the location convenient for cars to stop afterwards. And there was enough traffic on the Sunday evening. It might be better standing somewhere else during low traffic times.

The cars drive a bit fast but I got a quick ride to the Voreppe toll. Got pretty fast to Lyon afterwards !

Quick pickup to Lyon.

Perfect spot going out from Lyon to the South. I have the chance to go to the toilet take a coffee and I stay just in the gasoline area in the entrance to the parking area with my sign going to Marseille. There a Big car pick me up. the gay was super nice, was a slow ride but I could arrive to my next spot just 30 minutes from Marseille in the highway. I think was the perfect spot to find people going to the south.

A really good spot, I took public transport from Genève to the border in Ravières; from there I walked like 15 minutes or less (trust in google maps, the route will take to some fields but you will arrive in the border zone, next to some toilets and parking area). I stand next to the exchange store, is perfect because the cars pass by in low velocity and they can see you really good. A sing always helps to save time and make the right people stop. There, a car took me directly to Lyon and the driver, Thoma, was super nice he leave me in the next good spot in the highway to continue my journey to Marseille

I really love this spot, hitchhiked here several times already and it never disappointed me. I wish we had the same kind of spots on the West side of Lyon to go far West ! Well, this time I had a big sign "Grenoble" and it worked well. I advise you to write as big as you can (big cardboards are your friends) so that the cars can read it from far away. I also managed to go to the Maurienne Valley from this place, or to a petrol station on the way to Grenoble, this is great too.

Was heading to exit of gas station and a guy pulled up to ask where I was going and took me directly to Lyon

We were 2 guys on a sunday lunch. There was a lot of cars, we just stood in the shade with a sign Lyon

Sign in hand, many drivers even at 8AM on a saturday. 5 minutes later I am off to Lyon:)

Great spot if you want to go to Lyon

Waited for 5 minutes, and a car what smelled soooo goood came and picked us up. Good in the direction of Lyon.
