I arrived a little late here around 6 pm, then was good movement of cars but less than in the morning or in the noon. I wait a little longer here, but some people offer go to Nice or aux Provence. Take a little longer to find my ride to Marseille, I recommend a good sing to show your destiny mine was little and not easy to read, but I found a nice guy who leave me exactly where I need to go in Marseille.

Perfect spot going out from Lyon to the South. I have the chance to go to the toilet take a coffee and I stay just in the gasoline area in the entrance to the parking area with my sign going to Marseille. There a Big car pick me up. the gay was super nice, was a slow ride but I could arrive to my next spot just 30 minutes from Marseille in the highway. I think was the perfect spot to find people going to the south.

A really good spot, I took public transport from Genève to the border in Ravières; from there I walked like 15 minutes or less (trust in google maps, the route will take to some fields but you will arrive in the border zone, next to some toilets and parking area). I stand next to the exchange store, is perfect because the cars pass by in low velocity and they can see you really good. A sing always helps to save time and make the right people stop. There, a car took me directly to Lyon and the driver, Thoma, was super nice he leave me in the next good spot in the highway to continue my journey to Marseille

I think this is the best spot on the station, as you get all cars passing by. Got an offer for Marseille after 5min, Montpellier took me 15min.

We were trying to go to Marseille, or Lyon. Only two cars stopped in one hour on a busy day, but then a cute girl took us to Chalon-sur-Saône:)

terrible for us. we only waited because one bus driver told us there will be another bus in few hours going to marseille and he might take us. as you might guess, there was no bus. tried to get to dijon / lyon btw

Coming from Marseille, got dropped off here to change direction and go westwards. I stood rigth after the toll gate, next to the toll's rest area entrance so cars could stop there. There is a nice tree to give you shadow here super neat! I had to wait a bit but a truck stopped goind to Barcelona, perfect ride ! No sign.

Perfect to go South to Nîmes, Montpellier with A9 or to go to Marseille or Aix en provence with A7 and A8

On the right side of the roll, lots of people going to Paris, Avignon Left side is mainly Marseille and Aix

Got dropped off here while going towards Nice from Lyon.Saw and talked to a fellow female hitch hiker who often does Lyon Nice, a lot of cars that pass by since it’s a huge stop with a Burger King and several other restaurants and shops, did seem like a lot of people were going more towards Marseille than towards Nice, people are friendly.Know how to speak French helps a lot and having a sign is better 2males with 2 big bags

Good spot got picked up pretty quickly with a sign “Marseille/a7” it’s a bit difficult to access from Lyon 2males and 2big bags

Single male, no French. Plenty of cars, mostly heading Marseille I believe. But I spent the night here in this Aire, I set up a tent but it was a little terrifying ngl. After 1 am, car thiefs started robbing the place, or it was an alarm triggered automatically to scare of thieves but surely it was an dangerous place to sleep. If you ever need to sleep here, there is a partially hidden and safe spot surrounded by trees and have two big poles, next to the benches when you pass the basketball court. It is also a home to bunch of cats. I set my tent there but still didnt sleep until 4 am just to be sure. Also keep it in mind that thieves come by with a car and get away with a car, so anywhere away from the roads are more safe.

Single mail, no French. Waited around 3 hours with a sign and a thumb, tried every possibility. First tried the roundabout, it was no good. Then I tried the spot I tagged, and got a ride in 20 mins. It was Cyann, heading to Marseille, he dropped me in an Aire before Marseille

Bad spot, not a lot of place to stop and mostly locals, in the end I got a ride to the first gas station on the highway but it was kinda the same :/ I had a sign with Cannes but people were laughing at it because it was too far so I put AUTOROUTE on the other side. My advice is that if you can afford leave Marseille with another mean.
