IF YOU GO TO LUXEMBOUR DONT GO HERE!!!!! I thought it would be gteat spot but even in rushhour no one stoped me. After 2 hours I rewrite my sign to Metz. After 59 minits of nothing I ran to closest vilige got ride to Metz in 3 minits and then got the train to Luxembourg (right now only 10 e). This spot is good to go to Paris Ok for Germeny Terrible for Luxembourg and Metz

I never really succeed getting long distance rides in Luxembourg, despite the possibilities. Had a sign for Strasbourg in the torrential rain past ten pm. Eventually a car for Metz stopped - it was foolish as there's almost nothing to stop at before Metz but I took it anyway and spent the night camping. On another occasion, perhaps I can crack this...a sign for Stras/ Germany? Who knows..

Well, this is a strange one. Arrived at midnight - camped behind the little (very little!) woodland towards the entrance to the left and put in earplugs (as the traffic is really loud). There was maybe two cars around at that time and I was beat. In the morning it felt a little bleak - traffic was so so but it felt like mostly locals. Still, I knew I would eventually find someone for Strasbourg. I began to heat water for a coffee and along cones a Luxembourgish car. He was going to Nancy, I believe, but decided to deviate to Stras as it was faster. Think he just wanted to take me. He hadn't seen a hitcher in a long time. Awfully sweet guy. Shared his veg wrap with me. You have toilets here& tap water. Not a place I'd like to be in winter, but frankly the road sucks from Luxembourg to Metz and there's little other options. I had stood in Luxembourg for two hours under heavy rain and storm with a sign for Stras to no avail. But, arrive I did...finally :-)

Not the greatest to go far, but with a sign A31 I managed to get to Peage couple minutes ahead. There going to Swiss, Lyon, Mulhouse or southern france is possible. Going to the North for me didn’t work, I have waited more than 2,5h at Peage and finally changed approach by taking a short ride to next rest stop/gas station and there walking to gas station on the opposite direction and Hitching to Metz.

Très spot mais il faut être patient (c’est paris comptez minimum 1h), j’ai été pris jusqu’à metz avec un panneau indiquant ‘reims’ se mettre au niveau de l’arbre pour être visible et montrer le spot derrière

Quite busy ramp Most traffic goes to Strasbourg though I finally got a ride with a delivery driver to central Metz and slept in a forest at the edge of the city

Reached this spot via urban bus. There's a boulangerie where I bought lunch (the clerk spoke italian, incredible!) and a pharmacy in the vicinity Waited with a sign with "Belgique ou Nord" written on it and after 20 minutes or so I got a lift to Metz Amazing place to go north because, as my chauffeur explained to me, all the cross-border workers pass through here in order to go to Luxembourg and additionally they can stop easily because it's a bus stop with an additional lane behind your back

Dimanĉa posttagmezo estis vere sufiĉe kvieta, do post kiam mi prenis la malĝustan buson de la domo de miaj amikoj, ĉar mi estas miopa kaj ne havis miajn okulvitrojn (kiujn mi perdis grimpante ventan montegon en Kaburbo), mi iom promenis tra la urbocentro por esplori kaj poste mi alvenis al ĉi tiu loko. Bedaŭrinde, mi ne filmis multon, sed mi memoras renkonti scivoleman junulon dum petveturado, kaj post kelkaj minutoj iu portis min al Metz. Li laboris kun organikaj produktoj kaj donis al mi iom da fruktoj.

Rapida veturo, sed ĉi tiu regiono estas iom konfuza, kaj por iu, kiu ne estas tre blanka kaj aspektas kiel enmigrinto, estas malfacile fidi je oftaj veturoj, do mi fine akceptas la plej rapidajn eĉ se ili estas al lokoj pli proksimaj, por daŭrigi la vojaĝon, strategie kompreneble. Estis la tria tago survoje al la Eŭropa Ĉielarko, komencante de la domo de mia frato. Ĉi tiu veturo kondukis min iom pli suden, sed proksime al vojo, kiu povus konduki min al Metz, kaj de tie al Luksemburgo estus mallonga salto.

we found a ride to Metz in about an hour. we saw a lot of cars going to Luxembourg or to Strasbourg

Good spot to go the east for Metz, Reims and Strasbourg. Lot of cars but some are local cars. Need to walk through the fields to get there but it’s okay

We were looking for a ride to troyes, but instead got a ride with someone going to Metz who dropped us off at a service station before the turn Eastwards
