Good spot to go the east for Metz, Reims and Strasbourg. Lot of cars but some are local cars. Need to walk through the fields to get there but it’s okay

We were looking for a ride to troyes, but instead got a ride with someone going to Metz who dropped us off at a service station before the turn Eastwards

i slept in the forest next to the station, theres a metal grid fence that you can easily climb in the truck stop area next to the highway. just make sure to wake up early to climb it up again with no one seeing. got a ride to metz by a nice belgian couple on their way to italy. lots of people were willing to take me but their cars were full of luggage.

Parking space next to autoshop and vet-clinic just after a roundabout. Got a ride to Metz in 10min.

In the morning of the national holiday, not many people. We (2) asked around and had a sign 'Allemagne/Deutschland'. We didn't succeed. After more than 1,5 hours, we tried to go to Metz which was quite hard too. Lots of Belgian cars.

We were two, early in the morning of the national holiday. Very few cars as we expected. We were standing before the bus stop with a sign 'Metz'. As we were about to give up on this place, a car stopped and took us to the nearest service station on the highway.

You have to walk here along the Avenue de Champagne from Rue de Louvois, then just stand next to the "no pedestrians" sign, there is enough space for cars to pull over and pick you up. We waited here as 2 guys with a sign for Metz and got a ride from a guy going to Strasbourg who initially said he could drop us off at the Aire near Metz but ultimately decided to drop us off near the city center.

Very good spot to catch a ride in towards france. There is a broad and long shoulder for cars to pull over, and there is a lot of traffic moving into France. My shoulder started hurting by holding up my arms for so long because so many cars were passing by. I got a ride to Metz in about 25-30 minutes.

Low traffic in early morning, got a lucky ride to Austria. I've seen mostly local plates and several german ones, I've been told that people going to Strasbourg from Metz prefer to take the free motorway through Nancy.

Asked one Person for going to Nancy. Said yes. Then drove to Metz. So not 5 stars for logistics but otherwise great spot for asking around. At least you will go more west.

Slightly annoying to reach, but a great spot to get out of Paris heading east. Lots of traffic, the first car we talked to brought us to Metz.

There are many cars in different ways, but they go slowly and can see you well. You need to have a sign. We went in direction Metz.

Waited a long time to go to Metz. Many families going for holiday to the South (lots of Dutch people too). Found many rides to Troyes but we didn't need them. Not the greatest spot in my opinion.

never got a lift so fast. really shortly after arriving I got a ride to Metz. there are a lot of cars passing. coming from the roundabout in two lanes. there is a small parking bay for cars to stop.

Arround noon. Got lucky. A CZ couple stopped and drived me to Pragua. My sign : METZ
