Got dropped here at 9PM, still a bit of traffic, but 80% of the cars went to Narbonne/Montpellier. I got tons of offers. For my first offer to the south I had to wait 60mins. So I would say it's a 4/5 spot towards south but definitely 5/5 for northbound.

I think this is the best spot on the station, as you get all cars passing by. Got an offer for Marseille after 5min, Montpellier took me 15min.

Slow traffic, but people driving far distances. I got a car to montpellier. Good place to sleep when you jump the fence tho.

Too easy 😂😂 I just exited from my previous driver car, wrote my destination on my velleda when a 35 yo women took me directly to Montpellier. There were policeman near, I was lucky to be picked beefore they saw me (it is illegal to hitchhike at a toll station in France).

Great place, there's a safe place to stand and cars can stop. The cars don't go fast, as we were standing before the toll. We (woman and man) got a ride to Montpellier in under an hour (weekday in mid-August).

this was probably my bad or unluck, but i've noticed that if you pick the last gas station on the way to the city, no one will actually go the city in question. i had many offers to spain or further then montpellier, so in the end I accepted one and had to climb over the highway fence. wasn't hard or anything, but note that for Montpellier it can be problematic

got a ride to montpellier from a french guy. a shitton of cars, sign saying "montp" smile! french people are very friendly and responsive

I was heading towards A75 in the direction of Clermont ferrant. Waited 30min with my thumb and sign with approximately 1-2 cars/min without a success. Then I asked around during 15min and found a car heading to Montpellier that dropped me at the first exit near Béziers. I think the spot is good but I was there at almost 22h so maybe too late to catch a ride.

I think it's an ok spot. My problem was that I was heading in the direction of Clermont Ferrand and the people seemed to be going to Montpellier. Other problem is that it was in the evening so less people travelling. Approximately 6 car/min. Eventually some guy heading to Béziers took me in.

Perfect to go South to Nîmes, Montpellier with A9 or to go to Marseille or Aix en provence with A7 and A8

It’s one of the best spots to leave Grenoble going if you want to go north or south west. Very good traffic to the point we had to decline rides because they were too short. We used a Montpellier sign we found there from previous hitchhikers, although we only were expecting to get to valance a married couple brought us to a small village behind Montpellier. Might be the goat spot

I tried to go to Bordeaux (by Lyon or Montpellier). Lot of cars. Not much area to stop. 2 exits are free before first motorway rest area to Lyon. White male.
