Evening on a workday, busy traffic. We (2) stood at the sign "cédez le passage" on the D331 with a sign LUNÉVILLE. A lot of folks go to Nancy but we found a car after 10 minutes. There is a space to stop on the little road at the first exit.

Standing on the on ramp with a Nancy sign, cars have space to pull over on the right. Got a direct ride to the center of Nancy.

I only waited 5 minutes to find a lift to Nancy

Quite a busy spot, cars are moving slow enough to see you and can pull over easily at the roundabout but mostly just locals. Still lots of offers to go North/West towards Nancy etc but not so good for going South. Eventually got a ride to Colmar but the driver took a detour for us

Low traffic in early morning, got a lucky ride to Austria. I've seen mostly local plates and several german ones, I've been told that people going to Strasbourg from Metz prefer to take the free motorway through Nancy.

Le spot était assez réputé dans le temps de ce que les locaux m'ont dit mais depuis qu'ils ont refait la route, la bande pour que les voitures s'arrêtent est trop petite et ça freine beaucoup de conducteur à s'arrêter. Cependant avec un peu de patience il est possible de remonter vers le Luxembourg ou descendre vers Nancy. Si vous Descendez et que vous avez moyen de prendre le bus je vous conseille la zone industrielle de Corny sur Moselle.

It's super fine for going to south of France. But apparently not so many people want to go to Nancy.

I waited so long because we were 4 Autostopper. Really good spot for going in a lot of directions. You can ask for Paris/ Strasbourg/Nancy and you'll find somebody. Good resources in Gas station. It has Toilet, Power outlet and big entrance for many people.

Asked one Person for going to Nancy. Said yes. Then drove to Metz. So not 5 stars for logistics but otherwise great spot for asking around. At least you will go more west.

Cars can stop easily behind you at a gas station thingy. You have a clear view at the Cars and they are not fast yet. But be aware for the buses ( they come super close to the walking side) Wanted to go to Nancy, a person took me to the next Peage to A4. Worked great.

it was tough here. I waited for more than one hour and was about to give up when two girls came up to me and offered me a ride to Nancy. There are not too many cars passing for here.

Easily got a ride to Kaiserslautern. I used "Kaiserslautern" sign. But a woman who stopped was going to Nancy/France. She didn't have GPS working that day, so she asked me to help her and she was going the same way. Many cars stop at this rastplatz.

Mots of the people go to luxembourg city but if u target french car you've good chance of finding a good one to go to Metz /. Nancy / ...

Picked up by two lovely people going to Versailles from a festival near Nancy, with a sign saying "route vers Paris" (Paris was written much larger than the rest)

Started at 11h30, got a ride to Nancy at 13h, but we weren't positioned well, at the end with the EV chargers we got picked up in 10 minutes (and dancing to our music made most good people smile which kept up morale)

Started here many times since I live in Luxembourg. Luck varies: from 2 minutes to 1h. Lots of long distance traffic I guess but no one ever took me further than Nancy/Toul...

Beaucoup de voitures vont à Metz, peu vers Nancy, peu de places pour s'arrêter mais bon au bout d'une heure et demi j'ai été prise.
