Got a nice ride to kavala i highly recommend choosing this regular road instead of highway, also because of possibility to stay at paradiso for a sec :))

Good for Poland, there is place to stop and nice views

One male 40+, a sign "Wroclaw", one small and ane big backpacks, a cloudy day (about to rain, but it didn't). Saturday. On my way from Budapest to Wroclaw. A very nice looking spot. After a petrol station, an exit 100-150 m extra lane, which gives loads of space to stop. Good visibility. Quite busy traffic. But I waited 2,5 h for a ride. I started at 15:00. At 15:30 a German girl stopped and said she was going to Wroclaw, but in 3 h. We exchanged the numbers. She left and I put my thumb again up. At 15:40 a guy offered me a ride to Krzeszowice. 20 kms west and off the highway. I turned down his offer. At 16:00 another (male) hitchhiker, going to Gliwice, joined me. At 16:20 a car going to Kuźnia Raciborska stopped. 130 kms west but off the highway again. If it wasn't for the German girl I'd have taken the ride. But I turned it down. The other guy went with them. At 16:45 another offer to Krzeszowice by a woman. Again I said "No" coz it was off the highway. At 17:10 the German girl called asking if I was still waiting and at 17:30 she and her boyfriend picked me up and took me all the way to Wrocław. It looks it's very hard to get on the highway from here. But it's not hopeless spot if you are willing to travel off the highway or wait long.

spot is nice, rally nicely visible, a lot of space for cars to stop

Not ideal as I thought it would be. There really is not so much space for the cars to wait, but with the right sign you can manage a nice long ride.

Gas station and frequent traffic, together with a sign for your direction, make a nice combination for this spot! Before, I tried at an access lane for 1.5 hours and then found out about the gas station

I stood on a pedestrian walk/curb thing and got a nice look at every single car passing by into Switzerland. In my eyes the perfect spot as everybody has enough time to decide and to read your sign. Initially I wanted to get to Mulhouse from the other side, but there was no traffic so I switched for a ride towards Switzerland.

Had lots of luck on this one as I managed to convince the fourth car coming onto the rest stop to take me in. Many people stop there for a nice break at the restaurant.

We were two people and actually wanted to get further south, but apparently we struck a period of bad luck on that specific Sunday. The spot itself seems very nice, but except for three people offering us a ride back to Rijeka (which we didn't want) nothing else happened for the whole period. After one hour of nobody offering any ride we decided to take the next opportunity that anyone offers, which was Bratislava. So yeah. I don't know if that spot was good enough to make people stop for you. Others seemed to have had more luck.

We got stuck at this gas station on Sunday evening from 18:00 till 22:00…then we decided to go to sleep behind the nearby restaurant. We started hitchhiking on Monday morning at 6 am and we were picked up by nice driver at 8 am who drove us at least to the following gas station (18 km away - we are stuck here now…so for 2,5 hours and still waiting while writing this review). We are two girls. Trying hitchhing with/without a sign and even approaching people as we are so desperate. Nothing seems to work. We wanted to go to direction of Norimberk. Preferably Regensburg, Pilsen and final destination Prague. This never happend to us. Ususally we wait like 30 minutes. Münich seems like a very bad place for hitchhiking as we were stuck at another gas station on north (aiming south) for 3,5 hours.

Enough space to stop, very nice

A loooot of space to stop but some cars (more locals) go very fast so should bet on tourists to stop more. But after hour got a ride straight to the coast. Very nice. There is a restaurant a bit further on the road with plenty of space to stop. Cars will go slower for sure because its on incline but maybe less willing to stop because of that? Idk tbh

It was night already, we were 2 guys. A really nice guy from Netherlands took us to the next city as he was going to take his sister from the club. We've had a sign and pointing it at the people on the road

Waited not long, a nice Croatian guy took us to the next gas station and have us some beers as it was holidays in Croatia the next day and he wanted to celebrate with us

We've got taken to Dubrovnik after little time by a Croatian coming from Austria. Car smelled like a marijuana and he was kinds tripping but overall a nice guy.

Walked here for 2km. It's a good spot cause there plenty of shadow and cars do not tend to go fast. People laughing at us still and showing the sings of money. Apparently a Croatian stopped and got us to Neum Spot seems nice but Bosnia was a real struggle for us

A nice lady stopped after asking around for an hour and staying with a sign. She stopped just because I yelled the name of the city through the window. She was very polite. We were two guys, a lot of traffic

It was already dark. We were stranded there. Went there on foot 5km through all the city and apparently there was not much traffic. Hopefully some guy speaking nice English stopped for us and took us to the next city, also gave us a place to sleep in his apartment
