There is a bus stop - first guy stopped for us. He bought drink and also some food for us. Two people. nice countryside. safe travel

This is a very good spot for hitchhiking. There are a lot of cars, they are going slowly and they can stop easely. We had a sign to Zagreb and (but you could definitely go further). A nice young guy took us and even offerd us, that we can spend the night at his house in Zagreb.

Picked up by a nice couple and got further down the road. Good space for cars to stop.

Guy and girl heading to Cologne. Waited 2h15 at the exit/entrance to the highway with a sign saying Germany / Köln. No luck, mostly Belgian cars. Moved to outside the shop entrance with our sign and immediately got offered a lift to Leuven by the Chief of Brussels police... (ACAB but they can sometimes do nice things)

Asked around and got a ride to Ćuprija from a Serbian couple going to Kruševac. Solo female. We couldn't communicate due to language barrier but they were super nice

Tried to hitchhike at night. 9pm (the sun had set) in August. A truck driver took me to Pirot. Nice but there are no gas station on the highway between Nis and Pirot so then I had to spend the night there (completely doable). At night I’d advise on pushing farther than Pirot if going to Bulgaria. Ps : gas station accessible on foot from the city, you have to climb a fence coming from the west.

Mixed feelings about the spot. One the one hand it is good because all the traffic will go towards east (besides a few cars that are heading south to the airport). On the other this service area is dead. No shop, gas station is abandoned, no restaurant - the drivers will see all of this on their navigation apps and not stop there. We were lucky and after 30min a nice couple took us all the way to Xichang - but maybe the more busy service area a few km beofer this one would be better (oft some cars might not go towards east but still). Toilet and shady rest area are available.

Objective : Bukhara. Indeed very good spot. I was offered a melon 🍈 and then a redhead teenager talked to me. At this moment a bus stopped. I was like : naaah I don't want to pay. I then explained in ouzbek than I travel without money from France and the bus manager said "OK LET'S GO". Made a lot of friends in the bus ! All nice people. Was also offered launch. Deo Gratias!

Nice spot, waited with sign Rampa, got a ride to the toll gate, but apparently the public transport is free and u can get a bus to the toll gate

Not a lot of traffic going on here at an afternoon in july. Was trying to get closer towards the Balaton after getting dropped of at the highway next to here, but wasn’t taken by one of the few cars going by, after trying for some time, so I decided to walk towards the town of Koröshegy, where I luckyly found a cozy camping site for the night. Somehow was the only guest there at the time so I spend the evening eating some repowering homemade hungarian stew with the owner of the place and watching the worldcup finals in my tent :) Very nice guy - let me sleep there for way cheaper than the normal price and even drove me to a gas station at the highway 20 minutes from here in the next morning!

kind of a nice spot for gdansk got took to morag in 5minutes and that girl was going to gdansk the day after !! i am lucky i think but it help me a lot good luck you are very visible and cars are slow here 😸😸

I waited in front of the last shop. Nice owner. The road is slightly uphill and before a turn so cars don’t go too fast and can stop on the side. My ride got me to Qukës, where I got a ride easily to Macedonia.

on this road you need to flag down the driver if you want to make it into the mountains. a nice Italian hydro worker dropped me by his station so I had more work to do...

Quite a good spot! Came from the direction of Mostar and was dropped of here - just after the traffic lights at the right side of the road. Eventhough the houses here are quite close to the street and there is no real space to pull over, cars just stop at the road, so that’s no big problem. The spot also got some good shadow and you will be seen quite good from the cars coming from the crossing. You can also sit at some parts of an abandond house/sidewalk thing there close to the road in the shadow which is maybe nice if you have to wait longer. Waited there no longer than 10 minutes though at a saturday morning on my way towards Montenegro. (Single male with a sign „Trebinje“) Was taken by a very nice Bosnian couple, which was coming all the way from the north of BIH and was on their way to a friends birthday in Herceg-Novi, Montenegro, so they offered me to take me not just to Trebinje but directly all the way over the border to Montenegro which was actually my goal for the day :) Was invited for a short coffee break on the way in Trebinje and afterwards waited in the brutal sun at the que at the border for 3hours!, cause it was high season (August) with a lot of tourist cars packed on a road which is just one lane in each direction with border guards working quite slow at the border… :) (But don’t try to walk over the border, its a very long walk without any houses, shadow, or anything else at the road (and probably even hotter if you are not in a car) with some unfriendly snakes living in the areas on around the road.) Made it over the border in the end despite everybody losing their hope and arrived in Herceg-Novi in the afternoon after beeing in the car for more than 5 1/2 Hours for a distance of around 100km :)

Nice spot - was just waiting a couple of minutes at a sunday morning before getting taken by a nice couple from Belarus which just moved to Montenegro 2 years ago and took me to the ferry terminal at Kamenari. (single male with a sign saying „Kotor“) *Also can recommend the bakery next to the spot, located at the street going up the hill at the other side of the road next to the pharmacy - you can get yourself some very nice apple-strudl like pastry there for just 1€ which is quite cheap (and very yummy!), and you can also see a lot of locals going there, so its really a good place to stop by if you are hungry ;)

Was dropped of here at the bus stop by my previous ride. Honestly thought that it will maybe take a while to get a ride from here cause it is basicly in the middle of nowhere and cars are going not very slow, so I was already prepearing myself to walk all the way to the next city but I decided to still try to maybe get a ride first ofc, what worked quite fast :) I was taken after not more than 10 minutes to my suprise, cause it wasn‘t actually a lot of traffic going on tbh (probably because it was already quite late). But it still worked pretty good and the spot itself wasn‘t bad - cars can see you quite good when they turn around the curve and can easily pull off at the bus stop, so not a bad spot at all. Guy who took me was also very nice and we even stopped at one of the sunset viewpoints on the way to Bar for a little photo-break, very beautiful :) (Single male with a sign „Bar“)

Good spot if you want to go to the city centre of Bar - got some shadow and some space to pull over. Slept at a small camping site at the sea directly next to the spot (huge shoutouts Sergej, guy let me sleep there for FREE even though the place is normaly just for campervans and not for tents) and just waited around 20 minutes until getting taken by a old german couple to the city centre - very nice start of the day :) (Single Male - Sign „Bar“, but just thumb will probably also work if you just want to go more towards the city centre, cause there‘s pretty good traffic going on and basicly everybody is going there or further)
