It’s really a bad place with only like 10 trucks - I, solo female, started feeling unsafe quickly but I got extremely lucky and found two very nice truck drivers who offered me food and coffee and after waiting with them until their break was over (4 hours😭) because no one else would take me / my motivation to ask truck drivers in the rain was not so high either they took me to orleans. But on the positive side it’s walkable distance to some small city so you’re not completely lost in the wild as I felt at first.

Walked 10 minutes out of town to the last crossing to get a car who went to Tuchengzi. There's a huge temple there. Then i took the ubike and crossed the beautiful national park, and arrive to the Anping old town touristic area. Nice plan.

Got picked up by a nice taxi driver returning to Ocaña after 4 minutes. Far better spot than in the city. Worth the bus ride.

Not so many cars, but high possibility they go to Ljubljana or that direction. We wrote a sign “LJ”. Be careful, in Slovenia the license plates are not always as they are. Nice and helpful people around.

Nice place, a car take us few km to another gas station (BP) , from where we took a car directly to station on Maribor highway.

Not a bad spot, I asked around and found a guy going to Sibiu. It was kinda funny because he spoke no languages I speak, and it was truly a spiritual experience, but he was nice and got me to a place where I changed cars.

This is likely a good spot, during the working week, when the trucks are on the road, but during the weekend, it is mid. The traffic was relatively infrequent, and people told me they weren't going to Constanta; I'm not sure if I should believe them. I unpacked my lunch here and ate it in the shade, so it did not bother me that much. After that, a car picked me up, got me to Vama Veche, and helped me find a summer job, so that was nice.

Nice place, and a bit of luck on a way directly to Graz. Guy took us to gas station near Graz airport. Probably good spot to Slovenia - Ljubljana.

Took me 45 minutes to pass the border. Customs asked a bunch of questions, but they didn't check my bag. They were concerned if I had adapted gear for the cold. They also asked if I had a place to stay during my time in Canada. Saying I was couchsurfing in Vancouver and didn't have the address yet was enough (Although I had another place with a proper address and proofs that I was expected there.) I also had to show I have enough funds for the length of my stay. Probably easier to hitchhike directly at the border, but I wanted to walk and as border patrol was not the friendliest, I preferred taking my distances. Few cars passed me (On a winter morning, the traffic was more important southbound) when one finally stopped. Two young adults on their way to Cranbrook. They were nice.

This is a nice spot for going south. I waved to cars going from the parking lots. I had a sign saying only FR.

Last gas station before heading out of town. Tried the last 45 minutes before sunset the day before, but no one stopped. Next morning, the first car stopped. Nice ride, originally only up to Fortine, but he eventually offered to drop me in Eureka. He told me crazy stories about his childhood, "On The Road" type-of, and how he got once into a deer on purpose.

I switched trucks here, and it was not bad. There is a larger truck stop down the road, but I think this one was kinda nice. Some normal cars stop here as well, but I had no luck with them.

Quite a good spot. I hitched from here a few times and always got a nice hitch in a reasonable time. Cars are slow, not much space to stop, but a nice one.

People are driving too fast to feel comfortable hitchhiking and too many ways. Not a nice spot. Drew gave me a ride all the way to Whitefish, telling me about his theories and life stories. He offered to host me if I couldn't get a ride. I ended up at his place where he cooked me dinner, played guitar as I was eating and had great convo all along the night.

Gas station with few people stopping and even fewer car heading north on 20, easy to hitchhike both at the same time. I received $12 in total from people going to the drive-thru. People were quite nice and friendly, just hard to get a ride. A girl who passed me when I started came back to give me a ride as she was about to take one herself to chill from her studies. Lots of fun and giggles with Madi, almost convinced her to go on an adventure all the way to the Canadian border. Instead of dropping me in Ashton, she drove me a few extra miles to Last Chance, ID.

Great shoulder, but almost no traffic. Exit that really exist for the casino. As I was to leave and get my chance on US 91, a mexican woman stopped. Losing track of time playing at the casino, she got late for her job as she was now broke. She was nice and drop me where it was most convenient for her.

Arrived there in the night and stood there for at least one our and nobody took us so we slept on the football field nearby and had some food in the nearby Restaurant (very nice owner ) . So we tried it the next day also wait like 1 hour and then a nice lady took us to trebenje . All in all ok place if you pass by this village

Very very big toll ! My precedent ride dropped me just after the tollgate, where the trucks rest. I tried asking them but they were not allowed to take hitchhikers :( and people speed up after the toll so they were not really seeing me. So I crossed the toll to go just before (be careful doing this so that the cars don't crush you haha), and people were seeing me better. But even if there were a lot of cars I still waited 30 min on this side of the toll, then a nice guy from another toll entry called me and took me further haha

Most cars going to Lyon center, but still found one to take me north. I was going to Strasbourg, my ride was short but still helped me to go closer :) Also it's a nice spot with place for cars to stop and a good visibility.

I was on the side in the grass, between the parking and the road, there is place for cars to stop and it's safe. Lots of cars but I waited 1 hour until a nice person stopped, maybe because it was early and people were going to work and were late ? My ride took me to the huge peage before Lyon (St Quentin-Fallavier), where it was a bit dangerous because I had to go inside the peage. So maybe try to go further than Lyon to avoid this ! Also this spot leads to 2 different directions, Lyon and Valence, so it's better with a sign I guess.
