Good spot, waited a bit longer than expected, but worth it. A couple took us to Perpignan, directly in front of our accomodation. We (2) had a sign Perpi, because of space in our notebook.

A lot of traffic going around, but mainly locals, so we (2) made a sign Nîmes, to continue from town to town. There we continued through Montpellier and Perpignan.

Good spot to stop someone who goes to Arles or maybe further. With a sign Arles it was easy. There we continued through Nimes, Montpellier and Perpignan.

Direct way to Arles, but on national road, not highway. Young guy took us to nearest town, where we continued through Arles, Nimes, Montpellier and Perpignan.

I often use this spot, I wait between the lanes at the toll, which is forbidden but that's really far more efficient than waiting before the parking lot. Anyway, no workers at this entrance so they won't say anything. Just once (among the 30 times i hitchhiked) the police passed by and "asked" me to move. I usually do not use a sign because there are several options (gas stations) to stop between here and Montpellier or Narbonne/Perpignan/Toulouse.

A lot of the Cars go to Narbonne. Not ideal if you want too go to Perpignan.

We waited in front of the fence and where really lucky to find an old couple who tuck us all the way to perpignan!

Talked to people at the gas station, found someone going to Perpignan almost immediately.

We had to wait the next train coming in 50min so we decided to try hitchhiking ,and someone took us directly to Perpignan.

i was standing literally between two entrances of the toll, and with a sign to perpignan, in 5min, a car picked me up immediately they were going to spain, so im sure you can aim further a guy with hithhiking there just before me, he waited propably 10/15min, with out a sign, so i dunno where he was going great spot some cops pass by me and said nothing i was a bit paranoid

Asked the first French number plate I saw and they took me just above Perpignan where I got another lift within 5 mins to Toulouse. This location also has a 24h cafe so I slept in there overnight

Quite a long wait for a ride to Perpignan for that much cars. Asking around is probably better here.

Very good spot. I always leave Montpellier from there. You can go to the west (Béziers, Narbonne, Toulouse, Perpignan...) or the east and north (Nîmes, Marseilles, Lyon ...)This time I had a sign "Toulouse" and got a ride directly to Frouzins (south west of Toulouse). A guy solo with just one place. This day I hitchiked with a French girl going from Marseilles to Toulouse. We had to separate since the guy had just one place. If you read this message, I hope you got a lift and could manage to reach Toulouse on time ;)

I was there on a Friday, there weren’t so many tourists. I had to ask around a lot and nobody wanted to take me. After that I took a sign saying “France” and stood at the entrance of the gas station, which eventually got me a hitch to Perpignan.

There’s only a little place for cars to stop and cars are also going pretty fast, but ve were lucky and one couole took us to Perpignan Sud.

There's a space next to the road where people can stop safely and it's on a straight road so the cars have plenty of time to spot you and think about it. I got to France easily. Not so Manny people passing by than in the main highway of Girona but a great possiblity to get to Perpignan.

Mainly people go to Narbonne, there is a split, hold a sign “Perpignan” and someone will stop, also i saw some spain plates which i suppose were going to Barcelona or beyond

Headed north. Not the best spot in the world, but far from the worst. Drivers slow down for the bend and have good enough time to see you and there's enough room to safely pull over on either side of the road. Majority of people going north take this route out of town. Waited 4 hours, for a total of 10 hours over 2 days trying to get out of this town. By some miracle the coolest Dutch woman ever came by and stopped for us and drove us all the way to Perpignan, saving us from this hitchhiking hell they call Spain. We got very very lucky. Save your sanity and take a bus or rideshare with BlaBlaCar or fly out of the country. Hitchhiking Spain is a nightmare. If you want to make more than 50km a day and not wait 3+ hours every time, you gotta hit it lucky with a non-spaniard.
