This is a decent spot for cars to stop and I think, in that regard, superior to the previous one at the traffic light. We used a "Strasbourg" sign and got a ride quickly even on a sunday.

So this spot is also doable in Nord direction. Medium traffic. Cars + trucks. Also toilets and water tap behind them. Lot of ppl going to Strasbourg/Germany. Got a ride Luxembourg in like 30 mins.

I never really succeed getting long distance rides in Luxembourg, despite the possibilities. Had a sign for Strasbourg in the torrential rain past ten pm. Eventually a car for Metz stopped - it was foolish as there's almost nothing to stop at before Metz but I took it anyway and spent the night camping. On another occasion, perhaps I can crack this...a sign for Stras/ Germany? Who knows..

Well, this is a strange one. Arrived at midnight - camped behind the little (very little!) woodland towards the entrance to the left and put in earplugs (as the traffic is really loud). There was maybe two cars around at that time and I was beat. In the morning it felt a little bleak - traffic was so so but it felt like mostly locals. Still, I knew I would eventually find someone for Strasbourg. I began to heat water for a coffee and along cones a Luxembourgish car. He was going to Nancy, I believe, but decided to deviate to Stras as it was faster. Think he just wanted to take me. He hadn't seen a hitcher in a long time. Awfully sweet guy. Shared his veg wrap with me. You have toilets here& tap water. Not a place I'd like to be in winter, but frankly the road sucks from Luxembourg to Metz and there's little other options. I had stood in Luxembourg for two hours under heavy rain and storm with a sign for Stras to no avail. But, arrive I did...finally :-)

It was at twillight, direction Strasbourg. I gave up and walked to the tollbouth C'était au crépuscule, direction Strasbourg. J'ai laissé tomber et marché jusqu'à la barrière de péage.

We were trying to go towards Dijon. Found someone who worked in Strasbourg but was happy to take us to Colmar

Big station lots of traffic and a McDonald's, full with families today because vacation but also lots of trucks going to France and Spain. I waited at the end because it was too much for asking, but I'm sure it'll get you something faster. Had sign France, rejected a couple of rides to Strasbourg took one to Colmar.

I couldn't get a ride to Strasbourg. After 4 hours got a ride 100 km north. The timing was maybe wrong - I started standing there around 17:00. The truckers went off to sleep already. At the end a car stopped.

Quite busy ramp Most traffic goes to Strasbourg though I finally got a ride with a delivery driver to central Metz and slept in a forest at the edge of the city

always tricky to hitchhike on a highway, but this spot turned out to be super useful and successful, coming from Strasbourg and wanting to go south to Switzerland. cars have room to stop (only) on the left hand side, and you can get a ride to any gas station or parking/rest place further on the highway. i got there by being droped on the previous highway exit, and walking along the fields, coming up to the highway right at the beginning of the exit lane.

Very good spot to go ouest (ausbourg, Ulm…) with luck we had a direct ride to Strasbourg, in France

Perfect spot to go to Strasbourg. We wait just 10 minutes, it's very easy to speak with people. They are very nice

In my opinion tricky spot but perhaps the best around Strasbourg to get south. We were hitchhiking there on 1st of May (Labor day holiday) so usually full packed cars and very low traffic. We got lucky and 2 guys who stopped to just change their clothes approached us and ask if we want ride.

Good spot, lots of smiles and interactions. Drivers can easily stop by the side of the road. We managed to get a ride to Strasbourg in 30 mins.

got picked up quickly while looking for a lift to strasbourg the driver offered to take me to mulhouse and I kind of regret accepting because it took 2 hours to get onto the a34 again from the entrance he dropped me off at, and later on when trying to leave strasbourg I had to wait 3 hours at the a4 entrance service stations along the motorways had more normal pickup times though, I'd excercise caution on where you accept lifts to because of this, if you're only being offered a lift partway make sure you can get dropped off at one rather than a random slip road

Most cars going to Lyon center, but still found one to take me north. I was going to Strasbourg, my ride was short but still helped me to go closer :) Also it's a nice spot with place for cars to stop and a good visibility.

Big area where people stop to eat and take gaz. I was trying to go to Strasbourg, but lot of people were going south, and the one going around Mulhouse/Strasbourg were already full of people&package. I tried both sides of the area, on the left asking trucks conductors but they weren't allowed to take hitchhiker's ; and I also went on the right side near the gas station and shop, to ask directly people. I waited 2 hours and eventually found a nice couple that took me to Toul, near Nancy. Not really my way but I took the train from Toul to Strasbourg!
