In my opinion tricky spot but perhaps the best around Strasbourg to get south. We were hitchhiking there on 1st of May (Labor day holiday) so usually full packed cars and very low traffic. We got lucky and 2 guys who stopped to just change their clothes approached us and ask if we want ride.

Good spot, lots of smiles and interactions. Drivers can easily stop by the side of the road. We managed to get a ride to Strasbourg in 30 mins.

got picked up quickly while looking for a lift to strasbourg the driver offered to take me to mulhouse and I kind of regret accepting because it took 2 hours to get onto the a34 again from the entrance he dropped me off at, and later on when trying to leave strasbourg I had to wait 3 hours at the a4 entrance service stations along the motorways had more normal pickup times though, I'd excercise caution on where you accept lifts to because of this, if you're only being offered a lift partway make sure you can get dropped off at one rather than a random slip road

Most cars going to Lyon center, but still found one to take me north. I was going to Strasbourg, my ride was short but still helped me to go closer :) Also it's a nice spot with place for cars to stop and a good visibility.

Big area where people stop to eat and take gaz. I was trying to go to Strasbourg, but lot of people were going south, and the one going around Mulhouse/Strasbourg were already full of people&package. I tried both sides of the area, on the left asking trucks conductors but they weren't allowed to take hitchhiker's ; and I also went on the right side near the gas station and shop, to ask directly people. I waited 2 hours and eventually found a nice couple that took me to Toul, near Nancy. Not really my way but I took the train from Toul to Strasbourg!

we found a ride to Metz in about an hour. we saw a lot of cars going to Luxembourg or to Strasbourg

Good spot to go Paris or Strasbourg, harder for Germany but it can be done.

Good spot to go the east for Metz, Reims and Strasbourg. Lot of cars but some are local cars. Need to walk through the fields to get there but it’s okay

I was already in a car going to Mulhouse, but I had to get to Strasbourg. It was already late so the guy offered to stop at this station so I can quickly ask the few cars that were there. Sadly no one went to Strasbourg so I joined the man to Mulhouse train station

Was tired of asking so stood at the exit with a sign Besançon/Strasbourg. Got a ride to Besançon with a fellow hitchhiker

Easy to access with public transport and enough place for cars to stop. Most of them going to other french cities in the suburbs of Strasbourg

Really quick hitch towards Strasbourg. Truck can't ride during weekends, but some personal cars stop here as well.

Two young people (one woman one man) going north, trying to get a ride to Dijon or Strasbourg. After standing a while, we started asking people directly who stopped at the red light. Unfortunately, everybody was going either to Paris or Clermont-Ferrand. Ended up getting a ride to Lille instead.

Mostly Basel (those usually wouldn't stop) or Strasbourg. We had to refuse multiple cars, as we were trying to get to France near Mulhouse

Not a great spot, good enough to go to Strasbourg. Not much traffic but enough people go to the gas station.
