Very good spot. I always leave Montpellier from there. You can go to the west (Béziers, Narbonne, Toulouse, Perpignan...) or the east and north (Nîmes, Marseilles, Lyon ...)This time I had a sign "Toulouse" and got a ride directly to Frouzins (south west of Toulouse). A guy solo with just one place. This day I hitchiked with a French girl going from Marseilles to Toulouse. We had to separate since the guy had just one place. Undoubtedly the best spot in Rieupeyroux for those headed east. It's easy to get to on foot, the traffic is thinned enough to avoid any cars that aren't going your direction, and there is adequate space for a car to pull in, with it being right on a side road access for a small shop.You could easily get a ride to Rodez, as we did, or if headed south, anything stopping at Baraqueville is perfect. As per usual with this rural area, don't accept anything that won't at LEAST stop at Baraqueville, as spots are scarce hereafter, the junction onto the N88 at Baraqueville is the perfect solution for Rodez, Albi, or Toulouse.

Decent spot for those poor souls stranded in the countryside headed in the direction of Rodez/Albi/Toulouse, would be however rather awkward for going in the opposite direction. Great spot actually!You can go just before the peage, there are 2 lanes to Montpeillier/Toulouse and two to Barcelona/Girona.
Your allowed to stand right before peage but not after. Cars go slow.
I was picked up to Montpellier after 20min on a tuesday morning.

Stood with a sign saying "South/A35" at the entrance to the high way. Cars are stopping for red light and you can stand and smile here.A guy offered to drive me to Obernai but I predered the high way station Ostwald Ouest because I was going further south to Toulouse.

Good spot to get out of the city, Waited 10 minutes on a Saturday morning with very little traffic.
