Lots of local traffic but it is quite possible to find a car to the A7 (Aire de Portes les Valence, south of Valence). But I already found a car to Montpellier or even Toulouse.

A good place to leave Romans towards Valence or further. I usually stand with a sign, or just with the thumb and passing by the cars while they wait at the traffic lights. A good option is to ask to be left at the gas station Aire de Bayanne where you can more easily find people to the A7.

Use this spot to leave the royans very often to go to the South (Montpellier, Marseille). It's quite easy to find someone who can drop you on the A7, at least at the Aire de Portes les Valence, juste afeter Valence towards the South, and then it's easy.

Sûrement un bon spot pour aller à Barcelone. Mais pas du to it pour aller à Valencia. On m’a posé ici en me disant que c’était un bon départ pour Valence, puis en regardant la carte je me rends compte que pas du tout. Heureusement un espagnol s’est arrêté pour me Dire que je n’allais jamais trouver une voiture pour Valencia, mais qu’il allait me poser de l’autre côté de la ville, ou ça a très bien marché !

After missing the bus 8, we tried to hitchhike in the city center to get at least to the highway, but we decided to change and to go further to this point, waiting the second bus coming. While waiting, we tried hitchhiking again a someone took us to Valence (he was going to Romorantin).

Our goal was to catch a car to the south of Valence but luckily we got a ride to Montélimar (almost).

We were not so optimistic, and after trying 10min at the bus stop, we thought it would be better to walk to the exit of the city. But finally someone stopped and took us to Valence. If you are going to the south of France, better catch a ride straight to the south of Valence, we were dropped at the north side (Bourg lès Valence) which is not really good to continue the way.

With a sign Valence, we got a ride really quick. We put our thumbs after the crossing-road, there is a huge security-lane so cars can easily stop.

I wanted to use the parking lot spot but there was some construction. I had to try here. Nobady pick me up(the lights turn red and green very fast, not so much time for cars to see you and decide to pick you up) until a girl saw me from a different road and brought me to the next gas station. Despite that is not so bad as spot, i had a sign with lyon-valence.

Toms of traffic going in the right direction but nobody wanted to take me to Lyon. Very sunny. Eventually got a ride to valence but honestly I think I got lucky

Don’t go here if you are going south. Everyone is going to the mountains. We ended up running over the highway to get to the other side. There we got a ride to Valence

It's a perfect spot, many international plates. restaurant parking, truck parking and gas station are all in one triangle so easy to keep an overview of new arriving cars/trucks. Still waited almost 1,5 hours, many cars were full are people with Children. Got lucky with a ride to my destination Valence, would've taken me to Austria tho

Got a ride for Valence in 2 mn with a “A7 sud” sign :) wait after the roundabout, there’s space for the cars to stop!

spot très compliqué pour ceux qui souhaitent aller vers nîmes/valence/montelimar. demandez aux gens a la station où mettez vous juste avant en bordure de route !

Super spot ! A peine déposé, j'ai été repris pour un trajet en direction de Valence.

I waited 2 minutes and a car stopped. I had a sign "prochaine aire" (next station). I have been left at the next station (Solaize) where I found easily a car to Valence.
