First Lady I asked took me to Alt-Mariendoef subway station so I could go to the other side of Berlin

Had A guy going to Rotterdam take me to Berlin, however I met him in the evening and he offered me to sleep in his van and go in the morning.

I was dropped off there the previous night and slept near the lake very close, then continued hitchhiking in the morning. I expected to quickly get a ride to Berlin but it was a bit long, but finally I got a long ride directly to Poland.

Most cars are local or going to Berlin. 2 hours wait before someone agreed to drop me off near Bautzen. Still, one of the best spots for going east

A lot of cars going West direction. Very high chances to get a car to Germany and further. I got a ride directly to Berlin!

Got a ride to Berlin relatively easily by asking around

I was probably very lucky but a guy took me all the way behind Berlin with almost 0 waiting time. Asking around seems like a good option here, since not so much traffic goes around.

2026 update: if you're going to Berlin - congrats, this is your spot. if you're going east to Poland - in my opinion still the best spot there is to get out of Berlin. you might sit here for hours but no matter the day and time you will *eventually* catch a ride, which isn't always true for other spots. i've never had to spend a night on Michendorf :) it speeds things up to go up to truckers and people with PL plates and ask them in person, especially if you know polish

Came out of the bathroom and a guy offered me a ride to berlin. Station seemed super busy so if he hadnt been so nice i would have aimed for a lift further towards hamburg

Had a sign for Hamburg which was too optimistic, therefore the long wait time, bring sign for Berlin instead. Otherwise great spot, lots of traffic. There was a lot of people working at the toll who passed me doing their thing, and they did not bother me once. To get here a friend dropped me on the back road next to the highway, and I jumped the fence 200 m west of the toll where there is a gate that is sturdy and easy to climb, but still about 2 m tall so be prepared.

Almost everyone going to Berlin. Many have full cars but should be quite easy to find a ride there

Probably a good spot to get to Gedser and get om the ferry. My driver didn’t want to take me onboard, but you pay by car so be sure to explain that they don’t need to pay extra for you. Then ask around on the ferry for rides, Berlin is easy

We wanted to hitchhike to Berlin. Many people riding in different direction. Non the less we 2 got a ride to Nürnberg after some Time which is very helpful. No Ants in Juli

Sucks for sleeping at, but there's a hole in the fence that leads to a field away from the trucks, only got 1.5 hours of sleep before it started raining, but that was more on us for bad planning. Getting to Berlin was super fast considering we were up at 4 and started looking for rides at 5, standing near the exit worked great, drivers could see us and slow down to talk before leaving.

Missed the first ferry by a couple of minutes, but was able to sit in the grass right before the gates, ate some food with a sign and thumbed when cars came by. After we got a ride, staff told our driver that we technically weren't allowed to hitchhike on scanline property, but that it was fine anyway. Ride went almost whole way to Berlin, but otherwise we considered talking to people on the ferry.

A good spot, not great. If you’re coming from Krakow, hitching at MOP Aleksandrowice, I would recommend you continue hitching there. The flow of traffic here is much lower; a steady trickle rather than the gushing flow of Aleksandrowice. Still got a ride in less than an hour more than half the distance to Berlin, all the same.

Arrived at midnight and asked drivers pulling in for rides toward Germany. Lots of false starts and difficulty given the hour, but a good ride to Berlin (Michendorf) within about two hours in the early morning/late night I consider reasonable. There was quite a bit of traffic given the time, though much of it couples with packed cars. Hitching in the day I don’t think you’d be waiting very long.

Lots of people going different ways (Germany, Netherlands) and far away. The did not always have enough space but a guy that went to Berlin took us in less than 30 minutes.
