Perfect to Come to Berlin

This is THE spot to get to Dresden/Berlin. Did it a few times now. Not a lot of german number plates, but the vast number of cars going in that direction compensates for that.

waited for more than two hours on a monday morning, inscriptions on the nearby column are telling the stories of other waiting hitchhikers and my ride told me that she had to wait longer and longer on this spot during the last years, the circuit still seems to be the best option towards Berlin

Great rest area towards north, decent amount of traffic, few trucks, wait times of 5-25 minutes expected, most cars are doing long distance, easy to find a ride to Berlin

Wanted to go North, to Hamburg. Lot of cars go east to Berlin. Decided to change spot. A young couple kindly drop us of near A352 at airport. Thx Assan who work at gas station for advices and help.

Hitchhiked in a group of three on Easter Monday and asked around at the parking lot/picnic area. There were plenty of cars heading to Berlin and we were offered various lifts for just one or two until we found a car with space all of us. If you are arriving from the South on the B 195, your driver doesn’t even need to enter the A 24. The route shown on Google Maps would mean an unnecessary detour if they just want to drop you without using the gas station. Instead, tell them to drive up to the rest area from the back via the street “Am Heisterbusch”. The street is blocked for cars just at the entry to the rest area so this is a great spot to be dropped off and will save them 15 minutes of unnecessary driving on the Autobahn.

Was easy to hitchhike there. There were a lot of cars, and the could stop right behind me. Good spot for Berlin or Leipzig, Chemnitz

We had a sign for Berlin but were aiming for Denmark, got picked up by a lovely couple who took us all the way to Flensburg and let us stay with them overnight.

Likely a good spot for Berlin and Leipzig, but I had little luck here going in the Chemnitz direction. It was one of the last hitches of my journey. I looked a bit desperate, but one elderly couple took mercy on me and took me in.

Good spot, i got a ride to Berlin. the bus station is a very nice help because the cars can stop there. i had a sign "BERLIN" with me

Waited with a sign for Berlin, Leipzig, Erfurt. There is space to pull in and lots of cars. Enjoy!

My ride to Berlin was already waiting. Great spot.

Lot of traffic, many people going far. Been there twice one time got a ride towards Chemnitz very fast, one time longer wait but ride all the way to Berlin. Sign recommended.

Tiny gasstation little traffic and many going north to Hannover/Gottingen. I had to go to Osnabrück. I did get offered a ride to Berlin tho.

Best spot if you want to hitchhike to Berlin. Traffic and visibility was great. We were hitchhiking in group of 3 people.

After camping for the night in the woods next door I got a huge ride towards Berlin.

I hitchhiked there in the morning, there wasnt a lot of traffic, I guess its better to get onto the bigger gas station further on the highway, but it is easy to get there from Frankfurt (you have to jump over the fence tho) and there are some cars going to Berlin/Poland

Huge gas station, was trying to get to Poznan but no one was going there, some people were going to Wroclaw, most to Berlin, 2 guys
