Looks like a good spot to get out of the city. The highway entrances have no space for cars to stop, but here there is space next to the road. Traffic is going slow because of traffic lights. Lots of local cars. Also Köln, Düsseldorf and Neuss license plates. Somebody stopped for direction Dortmund, but not my direction. Tried with sign 'Neuss'. Took a break at the cafe around the corner for a coffee and toilet. And then with sign 'D' (Düsseldorf). Nice guy picked me up and drove to Neuss.

Different experience's, can be fast and also be very slow here. Even slept there when not getting away late at night. This time going south with asking ~45 minutes and good ride to Dortmund. You can ask at gas station or on parking lot next to restaurant & electric loading. A lot of traffic during daytime.

Traffic could be better but isn't bad
I waited about 40 minutes with a Hannover sign and got a ride all the way to Hamburg
Most cars are from Kassel but there are a lot truck drivers
3 people stopped and said there heading to Dortmund
Don't forget to smile and good luck :)

We (2 people) got there at around 11am and were looking for a ride to Koblenz. For 3,5h of asking people we had no luck. They were either going father north towards Dortmund, or were rude or unwilling to take us. Decided to walk back to Wittlich and take a bus to Bonn :(

Wasn't successful with talking to people for 45 minutes, so I thumbed at the very end of the service station. Got super lucky with a lift to Dortmund.

Pretty good to get south, although most people were not going far (maybe Köln or Dortmund). If you're trying to go further, stay on the A3 at all costs

Got a ride to Kassel. Don't take this road if you want to go to Osnabrück, as I was, Dortmund route is better I guess.

Only good spot we found to hitchhiked East out of Dortmund. We waited about an hour and a half and got a ride all the way to Leipzig.

Two people hiking on Thursday noon, within 45 minutes 5 cars stopped, out of which 2 were going to Dortmund and the last one brought us to Belgium, good spot.

Very nice spot, even at late evening quite some cars were stopping here, very good for going west (cars going to Dortmund, Bielefeld, Düsseldorf were frequent), but little traffic towards south, wait time of 50 minutes towards south direction, could have gotten a ride to west before that

I asked around for an hour trying to go towards Dortmund, I got an offer to Munich and to Leipzig, and ended up driving with a truck for two hours to Magdeburg. Definitely a good spot to get out of Berlin. Good luck hitchhiking family!

I was travelling to Dortmund. It is not the best spot but it's ok.

Great spot, got a ride to Dortmund within 10min and before three cars had already stopped....
there's no pavement at the road but you can get there from a gravel square from the back side...

quite easy to get on A1 south or North or into Dortmund. But getting on A44 towards Oberhausen/Arnhem(NL) is more tricky

Senseless if you are going towards Dortmund. We had to eventually book a blablacar. I don't add our Experience since it was our bad choice - wrong direction
