Asked near the gas station and got a ride to Frankfurt within 15 minutes! Lot of traffic with license plates from Köln, Bonn, Frankfurt, Freiburg, etcetera. On the way a lot of Baustelles and traffic jams took 4 hours for ~200km, but got there!

Hitchhiking to GER. Standing with a france and german sign. Got picked up from 2 german students and was driven until Freiburg. Lots of different tourists refill their tanks here and see u standing with a sign and have enough time to decide if they pick you up.

There were many cars here but we had to get to Freiburg. I think it can be a bit tricky to get into Freiburg as its not far away and people probably dont take a break so close to their destination. But we got lucky and a guy picked us (2 guys) up with his pick up truck

Many cars were here, but we had to ask around for a bit (two guys). We were trying to go to Freiburg and got lucky with an old couple that took us to baden Baden. Its best to ask around

Good to go either north or south towards Switzerland. Had a sign for Freiburg/France. Was a bit early, a bit later in the day I'm sure it gets quite busy.

Lot of cars heading towards Freiburg. There is a place to stop and the cars are slowed by the lights. Good for getting out onto the A5

Good spot in general. Free WiFi btw. I asked around to go to Germany. And after 20 minutes a German guy agreed to take me close to Freiburg. 1 male.

There's three places to hitch here: at the bus stop, at the entrance, or at the exit. All should work quite well. Someone stopped unprompted while we were still discussing where to stand, took us to Freiburg directly. In summer this is quite a common place to come to swim at the lake, so quite a lot of people from all the region (not only Freiburg) although a lot of full clars.

Maybe I got lucky, but I just made my sign for Freiburg and was lazily eating my lunch someone just stopped and asked to take me. Still, there was a good number and flow of cars for all directions.

On our way back we wanted to get to Freiburg Germany, after 1 Hour only 1 German car drove by, most germans get fuel right behind the border i guess. Eventually we got a ride to airport Basel where we didnt even have to wait 5 Minutes to get to Freiburg.

Good place to Freiburg im Breisgau. Less than one minute waiting with "FR" sign.

Not so busy Petrol station and McDonald's. But I got a ride to Freiburg, so it's definitely doable.

Good visible spot, cars can stop next to the road. Entrance to highways towards Germany and France. Lots of local trafic & French and German cars. But no luck with sign Freiburg. Finaly got a lift to Weil border gasstation.

Asked for a ride at the fuel station. I got a ride till Freiburg immediately.

A lot of car going to North A3, but some are traveling south. It took me 2h to wait for direct ride to Freiburg, but then it was very fast ride and directly to the place I need. The spot is good, with nice view and not so expensive (relative to other petrol stations). Many foreign car, mostly NL, but some B as well. People are friendly and it is worth to try to speak directly to them. During 2 hours of waiting 4 drivers offer me a ride to north, but I politely declined as there is no better spot further north to hhike south. You just need to be patient here

My new technique strikes again! (Monday morning solo female). Sign in hand (Freiburg, maybe Basel would have been better sign though), walking around looking lost, for a place to hitch, immediately got offered a ride to Basel. Lots of Swiss cars, some southern German, not many French.
