Good place to Freiburg im Breisgau. Less than one minute waiting with "FR" sign.

We had a sign with direction Freiburg!

Not so busy Petrol station and McDonald's. But I got a ride to Freiburg, so it's definitely doable.

Good visible spot, cars can stop next to the road. Entrance to highways towards Germany and France. Lots of local trafic & French and German cars. But no luck with sign Freiburg. Finaly got a lift to Weil border gasstation.

Asked for a ride at the fuel station. I got a ride till Freiburg immediately.

A lot of car going to North A3, but some are traveling south. It took me 2h to wait for direct ride to Freiburg, but then it was very fast ride and directly to the place I need. The spot is good, with nice view and not so expensive (relative to other petrol stations). Many foreign car, mostly NL, but some B as well. People are friendly and it is worth to try to speak directly to them. During 2 hours of waiting 4 drivers offer me a ride to north, but I politely declined as there is no better spot further north to hhike south. You just need to be patient here

My new technique strikes again! (Monday morning solo female). Sign in hand (Freiburg, maybe Basel would have been better sign though), walking around looking lost, for a place to hitch, immediately got offered a ride to Basel. Lots of Swiss cars, some southern German, not many French.

Amazing spot, if you need to get up north definitely go here. We met another hitchhiker who was not so friendly. But five people stopped but did not go to a tactical good location. Next person brought us to freiburg. Amazing

We were hitchhiking from Freiburg South and had to wait around 75 min. It´s not a really good spot. So if you're going from Freiburg South. Try another option.

Police were nice, let me hitch from just after the border (where cars are slow). In the end somebody from the restaurant called me over after seeing me for a while. Easy to go direction Freiburg

Got a direct ride to Nurnberg after waiting 30 minutes or so. Usually my go to stop, easy to go south to Freiburg or north to Heidelberg.

Very wide shoulder where cars frequently stop just after the roundabout where the cars are anyways really slow, lots of cars, direction Freiburg, wait time of couple minutes

Towards north, roundabout slows traffic down before, lots of locals, but might get a ride to Freiburg, got a car within couple minutes

Don’t try to get here by foot, I walked via the motorway and it was super dangerous. The first people I asked went to Freiburg Germany, the Gotthardt tunnel closed at night, so if you are late you might have to wait for the morning.

We were trying to get towards Freiburg. Most cars were going towards Stuttgart so not the best stop for this direction but we got a ride after about an hour bringing us before Karlsruhe
