One of the best spots in Hamburg. But for south or west you want to get a short ride to next gas station on the Highway, Autobahn-Raststätte Stillhorn, and then look for a good ride. Next spot has more traffic going more directions.Morning and evening with commuter traffic is best here.

Got a ride to Århus almost immediately. It is the first gas station north of Hamburg, so a good spot for going north, allthough it takes a long time to reach this place from the city center. Look for Danish cars.rating: 5/5, wait: 5 min, ride: 324 km ↑

Very bad spot if you want to go to the north. Almost all cars are going south or to the surrounding villages. After 3 hours without getting a ride north of Hamburg, we gave up and took a bus.rating: 1/5, wait: 180 min

Got offered a ride to Osnabrück almost immediately, but we had to wait for the car to be charged. In the meantime, we found a ride all the way to Hamburg. Good spot for travelling far into Germany!rating: 5/5, wait: 5 min, ride: 290 km ↗

Not that easy to get there, you need to take train and bus (~1h from Hamburg center)You have lots of chance to find cars going to Scandinavia, look at the number plate.

We paid around 7 euros to get on the ferry as a passenger and then asked around whether anyone was going to Hamburg (people go from their cars to the area with food and stores on the ferry)rating: 5/5, wait: 10 min 💬+🪧, ride: 188 km ↙

Very good spot to get dropped to Hamburg if you ask ppl around (Hamburg plates start with HH).I personally was too optimistic and asked people if they were going more North of Hamburg (Like Kiel or Flensburg) but after a hour someone said he could drop me to a gas station North of Hamburg and I settled for it.
Also I saw 2 others Hitchhikers in this gestation and not even in the same group, it's like seeing a shooting star

Should on paper be a good spot with the official sign and space to for cars to stop but waited 2.5h on a Sunday morning. Sign said "Jutland/Hamburg". Ended up going to the Q8 gas station a little down the road. Got a ride there to Karlslunde fairly quickly.rating: 3/5, wait: 150 min 🪧

Much traffic going north (Sweden, Denmark, Norway). I was going back to Norway, asked a Norwegian driver, but his car was full. Then after 10 minutes a girl with a small dog came to me and asked me "Hi, What is your story?". Hehe then she asked me if I had a driving licence and if I drank alcohol that day. So she was going to Gøteborg and then to Stockholm. She asked me if I would like to join her and help her driving to Copenhagen. So I became her driver that day and did it to Copenhagen. At that gas station you should even use "Oslo" sign :))) it is what I exactly did - I had 3 signs, i.e. Bremen, Hamburg, Oslo.
