Super quick lift to above hamburg

You have to wait a little but it's fully doable. I rejected fiew rides to Hamburg itself and went with driver who was going towards Bremen however during ride I found out that my driver was actually going towards the Netherlands so I decided to go there with him. At the spot itself there is nice forest for camping at night, you can access it by first crossing first fence using an open entrence for service road located in between two fences, then go litte bit north till you se place in which fence has been cutted. Then you are here, actually I would say that this spot is much better for sleeping than previous little bit up north of here and yes, thumbing at the exit works, you just need to be patient so if you are shy like me just stand there and somebody will stop

First I tried to get behind Hamburg towards Hanover but only people who stopped were going into Hamburg itself. After some waiting I decided to accept ride to another gas station little bit closer to Hamburg

Good for a Ride a north Germany (Bremen Hamburg)

11am on a Friday, was very lucky. I was dropped here by a guy going to hamburg (I needed to go to Rostock/copenaghen) and I think this was the best spot, better than the one just after. There were quite a few cars and in the end a guy bought me all the way to copenaghen, ferry included.

Got a ride to Hamburg by asking around

Two of us, waited for 15min. Stood with three signs: E47, Rødby and Hamburg. Got picked up by a lovely couple going south.

literally the first truck I asked told me that he would pick me up and go to Hamburg. 9:30am on friday

Got off here from a lift to Hamburg thinking i might be able to catch a car going north, skipping the city, but that was the worst decision of the day. Almost all traffic going to Hamburg only, and few filled family cars going north, so ended up jumping on a car to Hamburg and was dropped off at an entrance to the A7 heading north which was a much better idea and got a lift north instantly from there. So if you are going north, dont fight it and go to Hamburg first.

Came out of the bathroom and a guy offered me a ride to berlin. Station seemed super busy so if he hadnt been so nice i would have aimed for a lift further towards hamburg

Had a sign for Hamburg which was too optimistic, therefore the long wait time, bring sign for Berlin instead. Otherwise great spot, lots of traffic. There was a lot of people working at the toll who passed me doing their thing, and they did not bother me once. To get here a friend dropped me on the back road next to the highway, and I jumped the fence 200 m west of the toll where there is a gate that is sturdy and easy to climb, but still about 2 m tall so be prepared.

The guy of the petrol station told us not to ask the drivers and we had a sign "Hamburg" for cars on the road but we waited for 1h30 before changing spot because no one stopped.

Not that many cars passing, lots of them going to Hamburg but we were trying to go into Hannover. We waited like an hour then decided to take the bus that was just next to it so still a good spot to go into Hannover

Realy nice spot. We have writen Berlin and Hamburg. We are two man.

After 1,5h we got two ride-offers simultaneously! A German family offered to take us all the way to Hamburg with the ferry. Tip: have a walk around in the ferry and use that time to network and find your next ride if you hear the language of the next country you’re heading towards! We heard a few Dutch families (but their cars were full).

We where 2 men on the grass between the roads which lead at the hyway entrance. Some of the cars where going fast, despite on the other road they start from a traffic light where they can sea you easily. Found a kind man who took us to Hamburg. Recommand to go a little bit down on the road, where the cars go less fast. A sign is mandatory.

Wanted to go North. Waited with a sign at the entrance of gas station. On sunday, not many cars with double H on plate (Hamburgs cars). Lots of taxis and ubers from airport. A kind man drop us of few meters away, at the entrance of hyway 352, under the sign Hamburg.

Wanted to go North, to Hamburg. Lot of cars go east to Berlin. Decided to change spot. A young couple kindly drop us of near A352 at airport. Thx Assan who work at gas station for advices and help.

Pretty nice spot, hitchhiked as a couple and got lift pretty fast to Hamburg
