quite big, many cars to talk to. but you need to walk back and forth a lot. somehow a lot of cars going to west Germany. We were a bit frustrated at some point. took us so much longer than expected to find someone to take us (2 male passing people) to berlin/Leipzig.

For some reason it took me much longer than expected to get a ride to Leipzig.

Some space to stop but only cars coming from the right will see you, and only those on one lane will be able to stop. Had a sign saying Leipzig, eventually changed for A4 tankstelle, after which I got a ride to Dresdner Tor very fast.

(Towards Poland) On a Friday morning in august, many cars going relatively slow, great visibility and space to stop. Most cars have German plates and are going to Berlin or Leipzig, but Poland is definitely possible.

Decent traffic and most cars are going to or towards Leipzig.

A lot of traffic towards Leipzig and Chemnitz.

We tried to get to Poland using the A38 to Leipzig, but the cars that stopped all wanted to go Northern so we decided to take a lift to Braunschweig and then head Eastern

Waited 20-30 min, got a ride past Leipzig to another gas station.

Only good spot we found to hitchhiked East out of Dortmund. We waited about an hour and a half and got a ride all the way to Leipzig.

Got a ride to Leipzig fast. Theres some place for cars to stop but not alot and not legal. Worked much better for us than the truck stop. Our ride invited us to join him at a post punk club!

Really bad place to get to Leipzig. We recommend the highway exit instead close to here. Ut went much faster.

Good spot, we think. It seems to be a regular spot for hitchhikers heading south/southwest/west. We stood by the western on-ramp to the autobahn. Not a lot of traffic, but we also arrived late in the day. P.S. There’s a shower: think about using it you bum! We were two guys hitchhiking late in the afternoon/evening. We were signaling to go for Leipzig/Magdeburg. The hour was late in the day, so when a driver offered us a ride to Leipzig we accepted. In hindsight, we should probably have headed straight west towards Magdeburg/Hannover, since it was difficult to plan the route after stopping on the road to, or in, Leipzig. We were heading northwest after Leipzig towards Göttingen/Kassel via the A38. We did however get onto the A38 by sheer luck, the driver’s poor sense of direction and him being a bit creepy (esoteric guy that let us lie in the back of his van). Stay safe out there folks.

Two guys hitchhiking. We hitchhiked here from Wannsee to Potsdam intending to head southwest, either to Leipzig or Magdeburg. We hiked from here since there was construction at the on ramp to the autobahn in Nikolasse. We were picked up quite quickly and there’s a busstop + handicapparking where the drivers can pick you up. Please note that if you just want to get to Potsdam you can take the S-bahn from Berlin instead.

Right now the road to leipzig is in construction and it is a terrible spot. Just with 2 buses (30 minutes) you can go yo a yet gas station that is a little bit south. Very good that one.

For going to leipzig very good. Me i get i ride close to nuremberg

Not perfect place. Mich people to Dresden or North (Leipzig Berlin)

should be doable to get quite long rides from here. good spot, got taken to Leipzig but the driver went all the hannover

Very good spot to go in direction of Leipzig. Cars can stop very easily. And as they have to drive around the corner before they are going slowly and have enough time to see you :)

Held up a sign with Erfurt/Leipzig/Berlin and my thumb out on a Sunday noon. Got picked up after 40 minutes for a 90km ride to an autobahn gas station and from there it was easy sailing (asked people directly and two more drivers gave me a ride within a few minutes)
