Not the best spot for cars for stopping but they still do. After 25 minutes of waiting and rejecting one offer in different direction than mine driver approached me and told me that he didn't had place to stop at the roundabout so he stopped at the parking nearby and told me he is going towards Ulm. I accepted ride as it was on my way but later I found out that he was actually going to Saxony but it was pure luck. Nether the less good spot for Ulm and Munich even if it doesn't look like that

Always ask on the ferry, it's likely you can find a car going for a very long journey. I got lucky and found a car going directly to Munich. Our ferry was going from Bastia to Livorno.

Good spot, esp during aummer holidays lots of morning traffic to munich and towards innsbruck, prob about 3cars/min to approach

I don’t know why this spot is so bad, but I tried both standing with a sign and asking drivers (for Nuremberg or at least somewhere closer), but for 4 hours nothing, everyone just refused. Ended up taking a ride to Chemnitz, where I had luck after just 10 mins of waiting (straight to Munich). So maybe if you are going from Dresden, rather go to the rest area near Chemnitz.

Amazing spot, cars are going super slow, plenty space to pull over. Its the most busy crossing for cars going towards munich, even though it seems like the crossing at Höchst might attract more traffic. But that isnt the case according to a local. He even took me across the border just to get me here

VERY VERY quiet on a tuesday evening, but the first man i asked was super kind and helpful and took me to a great spot on the border towards munich:)) The Lustenau crossing, he told me, is much better if you want to catch the traffic going to munich, as the höchst crossing is less used.

Two guys heading north, had a sign saying Austria/Germany. Asked people outside the shop and eventually got a lift to Munich.

All the reviews are true, avoid this place at all cost. The traffic is mostly local or eastbound (heard a lot of Munich and Nuremberg), nothing going west. I settled for Wurzburg after two painful hours. Find another place or try to a least find a short ride from here to a better place.

Bus lane thumbing. Offered ride to Munich but took it just to the centre of feldkirch.

Very good if you're going to nurnberg, but if you trying to go to Munich like me I think it's best to go to nurnberg to A9 higway

after about 30 mins a guy going into the McDonalds said he was going to Greece and could drop me off in Bolzano… twenty minutes later he came out saying he had just gotten a call that he needed to go back to Munich! I was absolutely devastated but just a few minutes later a trucker saved me and dropped me in Bolzano

Saturday in April, either the A8 or A9 was good for my route to Belgium. Most cars were full or drove into Munich. Eventually, a business man took me in direction of Ulm.

I was going to Munich, I was dropped off here by a trucker taking me from Prague. It was a pain getting south out of here! Hot and low traffic. Everyone is super nice, but Thursday mid-afternoon most people (especially truckers) were either going east to Prague or north on the A9. Finally got a short ride from a super nice German-American couple to an A9 rest stop

I live in Munich and mostly use this spot. I think it's the best to go north. (Never use the spot in Garchig to go north it's horrible!) Most of the time I'm waiting there 5 to 15 min. Not sure if it's better to stand directy on the entrence or the intersection. Only problem: the cars are driving fast. Evenso someone will stopp.

20 cars per minute on a saturday morning. Many people going to Germany. I got a ride to Munich directly

We were going to Munich… We asked the staff at the Restaurant for some cardboard and marker so we could make a sign, they were kind enough and gave us both. We then made an sign with “Plzeň” on it and after some while a couple took us. We were standing next to the Bageterie.

Great spot, around 40 cars per minute on a Friday midday. Our sign said Munich and we got dropped off close to Linz.
