Very good spot to reach wurtzbourg and Nuremberg. A lot of cars and easy to ask around.

It's very easy to get to Nuremberg with this spot

A great spot if you are heading north along A3. For half an hour I was standing with a sign A6 Heilbronn, but nobody stopped. I changed my sign to Nuremberg and immediately car stoped and took me to Wurzburg Nord gas station. From there it will be more chances to go south.

Stood at the end with a sign for a bit, no luck. Then the first truck driver i asked took me all the way to Pilsen. I think had a lot of luck tho.I was heading to Czechia so i just asked the trucks with czech plates. But there was a lot of traffic so i think its a fine spot to Nuremberg or east in general.

As of august 2025 there’s a whole in the fence just under the bridge. I think it was the fourth car that took me immediately to Nuremberg.

I wanted to go Nuremberg from this spot which is far south-east from here in Bavaria. But I didn t find anyone willing to take me in that direction for more than two hours. After which I found a non-native who agreed to bring me to Passau which is even farther. Generally people were unreceptive to taking me with them.

Not really busy in the morning, after 90 minutes a guy approached us and offered us a ride to Nuremberg. We were just standing before the ramp to the highway, so maybe it's better to try to talk to people

For going to leipzig very good. Me i get i ride close to nuremberg

Great for Czechia or Poland or Munich or Bayreuth, but difficult for Nuremberg/Erlangen/Bamberg, we had to walk to the next village and go from there

Got dropped off and instantly picked up at the petrol station. Seemed to be a fair about of traffic heading to Nuremberg from here.

Plenty of cars pulling in at the petrol station and services. Lots of traffic heading onto the A6 towards Nuremberg

Was with a friend with a sign "Angers", found a car directly going to Paris (actually he was going to Nuremberg) so that was quite the luck! But this spot never failed me.

I was really lucky. I got dropped off at the gas station but I wasn't in the mood to ask people after a long day of hitchhiking. I wanted to try the ramp to Nuremberg but a guy picked me up on the way there.

This is a great spot for hitchhiking! My original plan was to hitchhike to Kaiserslautern via Nuremberg. After just five minutes, a car stopped, but I turned it down since it was only a very short-distance ride. Twenty minutes later, I got lucky with an 80 km ride to Augsburg, which I gladly accepted and decided to adjust my route for the day. This spot is also excellent for night hitchhiking from Munich.

Got dropped on this bus station. Cars there are going really fast! Nobody was stopping and mostly local traffic. But I was very very lucky and caught a direct lift to Nuremberg!

I arrived around 20:30 on a Friday in summer, very glad for the free bathroom (not super clean but not too bad) and free drinking water. Had a bit of a hard time finding a ride into Nuremberg despite lots of traffic since most people were going to Munich. Found someone to take me to an U-Bahn station nearby (Herrnhütte.)

Despite being quite a big service station with a big parking it was hard finding people going to Nuremberg - lots of other friendly travellers though who seemed genuinely bummed to go a different way (even got some van coffee.) I think I did pick a fairly good day and time with a Friday in summer between 18:30 and 19:30 but still. Bavaria just doesn't seem as hitchhiking-friendly to me (as a first-time hitcher.) Found two nice older ladies to take me eventually.

Someone took me from here to oldenberg. Many people go north, also someone offered me ride to nuremberg. Many long distance rides. Many foreigners.

We waited literally 5 seconds before one man picked us up on his way to munich :) we were going west so we got off at nuremberg

It is a spot on traffic lights. We stood next to crosswalk. We had sign Wurzburg and thumbs up. Its good place, because there is big traffic and also cars have to stop at traffic lights, so it is easy to interact with them and they have also time to decide. There is a space behind the light to stop, so i think it is not dangerous or risky for drivers to stop. Also people from Nuremberg told us that this spot is good and kind of “famous” for hitchhiking. I recommend you to write a sign and be funny, use your hands and smile. Impress drivers, it really works. Finally we drive to Bamberg instead Wurzburg, because we just wanted to go away from Nuremberg, but it is possible to catch something this way.
