It was looking like a great spot with plenty of space for the cars to stop at the only exit of the big rest area, and surely it is to go south to Munchen but I was trying to go North in Regensburg and after hubdreds of cars NOBODY stopped, it was a the end of the aftenoon so I had to camp nearby and tried again the day after at another spot

Not a lot of people stop there, I was there with a Pannel for Regensburg and someone took me to another rastplatz further

Stood there with a big sign Regensburg on a Monday morning. Not a lot of through traffic, mainly people visiting some of the shops on the industry park.

Contrary to others, I did not have the best experience here. Was actually looking for a ride towards Regensburg Passau but only people to Munich stopped. In the end someone brought me to Ingolstadt.

We got stuck at this gas station on Sunday evening from 18:00 till 22:00…then we decided to go to sleep behind the nearby restaurant. We started hitchhiking on Monday morning at 6 am and we were picked up by nice driver at 8 am who drove us at least to the following gas station (18 km away - we are stuck here now…so for 2,5 hours and still waiting while writing this review). We are two girls. Trying hitchhing with/without a sign and even approaching people as we are so desperate. Nothing seems to work. We wanted to go to direction of Norimberk. Preferably Regensburg, Pilsen and final destination Prague. This never happend to us. Ususally we wait like 30 minutes. Münich seems like a very bad place for hitchhiking as we were stuck at another gas station on north (aiming south) for 3,5 hours.

Asked around for a lift to Regensburg, found one at the gas station.

Wanted to go to Regensburg, but seemed hopeless, got a hitch to the next rest station, took 45 minutes to get anything with direction Nürnberg

Good if you're going to Munich or Nürnberg. We first tried to get to Regensburg but no luck so eventually we settled on Munich. If you're going to Austria like us, it might be easier to get through Munich and Salzburg than to try and cut across

There is place for cars to stop. You can go to Regensburg from there.

Difficult to get towards Czechia. Wait for a car towards Regensburg. Don't go to Nürnberg Feucht, there won't be much people there going to Czechia!!!

Two guys hitchhiking to München. We got a lift to Regensburg (north of München). We were picked up after a while by a nice lady heading to Austria. We stood by the on-ramp to the autobahn. It’s not a perfect place for the drivers to pick you up, as they can easily block traffic, but if there’s a will there’s a way.

great spot, very easy to get a lift to neumarkt if you have a sign and then regensburg. i was lucky though and got a lift straight to regensburg early in the morning

Not perfect spot, a lot of cars, but it was raining day so maybe because of this a waited long, a lot of people go to graz (which I want to avoid and all austria), Poland, and Czech Republic. I want to go to Prague but I catch a ride to Regensburg

Once have been "dropped" at the OMV station, it was no longer possible for the two of us to hitchhike on the A93 towards Regensburg. The busy road is fenced all the way around and crossing it would be very dangerous. The driveway is also leading in many directions from there what makes it difficult to hitchhike with a sign. Through a conversation, we were able to get a lift to the McDonald's on the opposite side of the road and continue from there.

Directly behind the McDonald's is a "natural" parking bay free of grass, which was obviously often used dir Card to stop beide heading to the highway. For the drive via the A93 - direction south we got a lift directly to Regensburg in only 15min. In the afternoon it is easy to go with the rush hour Traffic.

Great spot for short distances and small towns like Bad Abbach; terrible for longer distances or the autobahn. People are super friendly and many cars stopped, but we were going to Munich and didnt want to get stuck in a small town 5km down the road. Finally after an hour crossed the road and hitchhiked further into Regensburg to another spot where we got a ride straight to Munich in 5 minutes. Big bus stop, cars going slowly.

Onramp from Regensburg to autobahn. We were going in direction Munich, got picked up in less than 5 minutes. Cars coming slowly as they have to turn; there's no real place to pull over but they stop anyway, everyone in this area is very friendly and willing to help. We tried hitchhiking in other spots and many people stopped but nobody was going the right way; finally we got to this place and got a direct ride immediately.

Great spot to get to Regensburg during the summer

Good spot to go to Salzburg. Lots of people and trucks stopping here. Asking people works better. Another hitchhiker, however, wasn't lucky, he was on the way to Regensburg and couldn't catch a ride since hours
