Was standing with a sign "Remscheid" for 1 minute before the traffic light where people turn left to get on Autobahn. A kind lady picked up took me to the resting station (the one before Remscheid). The best spot in Cologne to hitchhike towards Hanover/Berlin so far, cuz you target exactly the traffic which will take you to the big resting station which is very good for hitchhiking.

Waited for about 1,5 hours here on a Sunday morning going to Cologne. A lot of local traffic, but eventually someone took me to Remscheid (40 km from Cologne).

From here you can hitch a ride only in direktion noth (Dortmund). Stod there on a sunday with not much traffic and waited 30 min. During the week there sould be a lot more cars coming by because of the big shopping centre. Good spot to get to the next pertrol station (Remscheid) on the Autobahn.
