A small local gas station, but a good spot if you’re heading to Kaiserslautern—there’s plenty of local traffic. Hopefully, this spot works well for trips toward Trier, Saarbrücken, or even France too.rating: 5/5, wait: 40 min 🪧, ride: 25 km →

Couldn't get to Saarbrücken or even Kaiserslautern for 3 hours, then accepted an offer towards Mannheim. There's a fair amount of local traffic here according to the driver.―Anonymous, June 2020

Good to reach from Saarbrücken but not many traffic. There ist just a petrol station (no more Bistro).
I had luck and meet people from my home area after round 45 minutes in Direction Heidelberg.

The next Service Station to the North is in about 20 Kilometers right before Pont-a-Mousson (so in case the driver goes to Pont-a-Mousson he could drop you at this station). There it is very easy to find cars to Metz/ Netherlands/ Luxenburg. some cars also go to the North of Germany but it is very difficult to find cars in the direction Saarbrücken.

One guy, one girl weekday 6PMHeading north for Saarbrücken/Luxembourg. Waited for three hours and got no ride. Almost only locals. On the next day tried to hitchhike in the morning for one hour and a half with the same result. Not recommendable. There are some nice places to sleep, though.

I got lifts to Saarbrücken or at least to the Rasthof RAMSTEIN or Raststätte WALDMOHR. Looks calm, but absolutely easy-going.―Tommy90, July 2015

been there twice the first time I had to wait about 20 minutes and the second time I have been there for about an hour. Both times my destination was Saarbrücken―Niklas, September 2013

Depending on where you go, it's definitely a good spot. If you are planning to go back to direction Saarbrücken coming from Luxembourg, it is a hard spot if you wanna find a direct hitch. We then decided to take the route via Metz to SB. To Metz/Nancy/Thionville it's easy to find cars.

ce n'est pas un super spot pour aller du cote de Francfort. Les gens vont apparemment plutot du cote de Saarbrücken / Metz...―Anonymous, December 2012

Depending on your direction it's a pretty good place to either get to Mannheim or North towards Frankfurt.I tried making it to France (via K'lautern and Saarbrücken) and failed miserably. I definitely wouldn't recommend hitching from here, but rather trying to get south on the A5 towards Strasbourg, that worked fine.

the service station Homburg is a quite good alternative for Goldene Bremm Süd in Saarbrücken, because there are more cars who take you till frankfurt or nürnberg (even Prag) but at least till Kaiserslautern and Mannheim. the waiting time really varies regularly. I waited from 10 minuts till 2 hours.―Tommy90, May 2012

To go to Sarregumines/Saarbrücken/Metzor Zweibrücken.
