Monday morning, we were two. First we stood at the exit but the cars were going fast. We then went to the exit of the gas station itself where the cars slow down. A guy took us to Stuttgart.
Not many cars, but this spot is worth the wait.

Don’t do this spot unless you absolutely have too, it’s dangerous, especially if cars don’t merge on time. I got picked up by a guy who did a U-turn to get me since it’s was so bad, he dropped me off 10 minutes later at a gas station where I got a ride close to stuttgart.

I found a guy after an hour of waiting who took me to Stuttgart. However I think it’s not that easy there because there are a lot of local drivers. But if you are patient it can work.

Took us 10 minutes to find a ride for Stuttgart BUT it was lucky (driver was coming back from a football game and stopped for a quick snack). The suggestion provided by another hitchhiker to ask for rides at the beginning of the petrol station was right. Again though, it was lucky. Karlsruhe doesn't seem like an easy place to hitchhike out of. Maybe it's better to wait for people to take you further like in Stuttgart, and staying on the A8 highway.

Tuesday morning, the place was a bit more sleepy than usual rasthof, even though it serves both directions. I hitchhiked direction Nurnberg and many people said they go only to Heilbron and Stuttgart, but there is no petrol station on A6 on that way. If you go to Nurnberg, you need to get at least to Hohenlohe. Waited about 1 hour to get a car to Nurnberg. Overall not great, not terrible.
