don't go to the north if you want to go to the north-east. Otherwise you'll get lost between Stuttgart and Heilbronn

Countless cars, but it still took an hour and a half to get anywhere. My signs went from Czechia to simply Południe (South) in an effort to get to Brno. Ended up with two guys going to Stuttgart who dropped me off in Worcław.

Perfect place for a ride into Stuttgart.

Stood at the exit with a Stuttgart sign and I waited more than an hour I think. Another hitchhiker passed by who wanted just go north and got a ride easily. Also be careful that before Stuttgart there is no good place to get dropped. If the driver goes more north (Nurnberg, Dresden, etc) they take the A81 and don't pass below Stuttgart. I was really lucky that the driver offered me to make a bit of a detour to drop me at Sidelfinger Wald Rastplatz.

Perfect place to go far north, rejected lots of cars going to Frankfurt, Kassel... Waited at the end of the station, where both the people from the gas station and the food court came. I was trying to go towards Stuttgart so had a sign for it, took a while but eventually got a truck. Waited

Really good spot to get a ride far into Germany. Got a ride till Stuttgart airport where we took the s Bahn to the city.

I asked people who came out of the restaurant. The first people I asked would have taken me to Stuttgart but I declined. Around the 10th person I asked took me to Karlsruhe. They were really suspicious and didn’t quite understand why I was hitchhiking but it was a very nice ride :)

This is a nice traffic light on an intersection - gives you plenty of time, probably around 1 minute or more. You can actually walk through the cars and people will often open their windows to ask where you're going. I wanted to go south to Stuttgart and I thought this would get me to the A5. I was wrong. Most people coming through here are going to Mannheim. It's a good spot if you're going in that direction, otherwise you should find another one. To go south like me, try the Speyerer Strasse in Kirchheim.

I initially stood by another traffic light farther north with a sign, and then I walked to this traffic light because it stays red for much longer, giving you time to walk around and actually get in a car without disturbing traffic. I had a sign saying "Stuttgart" and eventually a woman waved at me from the passenger's seat. They took me straight to Stuttgart-Messe.

Great spot, lots of people going far. Got a ride to Stuttgart after asking 3 people.

Classic big highway station, perfect to go west to Stuttgart. Got a ride there in 20"

Waited quite a long time with the intention of going to Stuttgart or Frankfurt. Got picked up eventually going to Ulm. Would say its an okay spot.

Spent an hour here with a sign saying "Ulm/Stuttgart", first possible ride after 30 mins but didn't take up on the offer because there wasn't a good spot where they will eventually drop me off. 2nd ride wanted to drive me to Ulm directly but decided to join him to Sigmaringen due to it being closer to my end destination. Enough traffic to get a decent chance for a ride, a chance came every 30 mins.

High Traffic Area, T intersection. Was able to get two rides in the same location within 30 mins. Holding a sign "Ulm/Stuttgart." 1st ride had to return me to the spot because they got a work call forcing them back to Munich. 2nd ride drove me to a high way gas station closer to Ulm.

Best place imho to go to Stuttgart.
