I got a ride to Nagykaniza. People are not that much hh friendly. Guy from Budapest picked me up after 45-60 minutes. Sunday 10am

It’s not really a spot I would recommend. Quiet little traffic and no good spot to stand or hang around. I decided for the Gasstation at the beginning of the stop. Sitting/ standing next to the entrance. Quiet frustrating to wait 4h. Was about to give up but then a lovely Hungarian Coupple took me all the way to Budapest. If your there: don’t give up! Talk to people and make a sign. Gasstation is open 24h. To stand at the entrance or exit didn’t work for me, but try it. Started at 13:00 with nearly no cars at the Gasstation. Got picked up at 17:00 with more traffic coming.

was okay. I started very early and the station was still quiet empty. I stood in front of the pertrolstation entrance with a sign saying Austria and Budapest and talked to people as well. Long time waiting what so ever

Second person I asked took us all the way to Budapest. Great spot

With a sign to lublyana went to maribor. Possibility for Budapest and Romania randomly.

Had no luck going to Budapest. People didnt look very pleased and we gave up at some point. Very loud place due to the 8 lanes of traffic

Tried this spot to get a ride to Hungary as an alternative to the highway entry near the UFO bridge thing since that one wasn't working at all in direction Györ/Budapest (with big sign). Here was very dead however, even though cars have lots of space to stop. Probably lots of traffic moving only into the suburbs. Only use as a last resort. You can probably camp very well in the nearby forest though

Snow was falling and traffic was low, so got a bit nervy. Almost all trucks here, but I wasn’t getting much love from them. Finally saw a car pulling in to the vignette station, asked him in the parking lot for a ride to Budapest and he was happy to help me. Would recommend this approach over thumbing trucks. Not a bad spot and a fun walk to get there as well

I was in no rush, so take my waiting time with a grain of salt. This is a good place. A lot of trucks are going through this place, most of them heading toward Budapest, but after asking for a while, I got a ride directly to Romania.

Very good sport, after roundabout and bus stop, plenty of place to stop, good traffic, got a ride quickly to Budapest

Impossible to go to Budapest from here. Waited for 1 hr, and walked 5 km to the end of Fishamend, from where easily got to Budapest with 2 rides and 20 min total waiting time. Highly recommend doing the same and not wasting time near airport

perfect little bus stop, most people are going straight to Budapest

I was lucky and got a ride almost straight away from a truck driver directly to Budapest but I also met another hitchhiker there that had been waiting for a ride towards Vienna since the evening before.

Probably the best spot in the Hague, got a ride to Utrecht fairly easily. Its an official Hitchhiking spot so there space to stop. Great start for our journey to Budapest

Got a ride directly to Budapest. REALLY GOOD SPOT FROM CLUJ GO THERE NOT THE NOD N THING. Plenty of space to stop and people way more willing to help! Thanks Ferenz

A German guy stopped and drove me all the way to the Serbian border. Probably better than anywhere inside Budapest proper

In direction Budapest it’s probably better than any bus stop around because you get all the traffic. There are two lanes so cars can stop kinda safely

There is good space, truck drivers can see u when stop for chech. Also there is space for car drivers to stop. 2 Ukrainian guys take me a ride to Budapest center. Trafic is not really insane.

Difficult to get a ride to Budapest. Probably best to look for Slovak plates and get a ride to “ASFINAG Raststation Göttlesbrunn”. There you’ll see more Hungarian plates.
