Good spot towards Skibbereen and Cork city. Hard shoulder to stop, good traffic usually and the cars are not very fast. Used this place several times and the average waiting time was ~20 minutes.―Anonymous, September 2014

Got a lift here and the next on to Cork pretty easy. However consider its the motorway and it's not really allowed to do.―Anonymous, September 2014

It's on the motorway under a bridge so you have a dry place if it's raining. Traffic toward Cork, Limerick etc. It was easy to get a lift.―Anonymous, September 2014

There's a small bay normally for roadworks but a car can stop there. You can get the bus 13 from the city close to here and the traffic from this lane goes to Cork, Limerick etc.Otherwise it's pretty difficult around the motorway.

This information is incorrect, you should not be looking for rides to Cork from here on to the west of the country. Cork is south west.―Anonymous, May 2013

If you want to reach Ireland by boat, here is the ferry to cork ! Rosko/Roscoff is an easy city to reach by thumb, but people pay the ferry by person and not by cars. If you're in Brittany, it's still the best option and you can buy tickets for less than 70euros in summer. If coming from outside of Brittany, it's probably better to cross the channel in calais (people pay by car) and then hitch in england and wales, even if it's a little bit more difficult there. In wales, you still have to pay the ferry but it's cheaper !
