Easy to hitch to Clifden. Maybe a little bit harder for the way to Galway but lots of space for traffic to stop. Plenty of traffic as well for a rural area.

A bit long to go there from the city center. But I really think this is the best place to Galway.

Good spot to reach Clifden and Galway. It's a good idea to wait tourists getting out from Inishbofin's ferry, more chances to get a lift ! Waiting time : 20min

Just before the bus stop, good way to catch cars from the exit. To the west (Galway, Athlone, Longford, Westport ...) Waiting time : 15min & 1h45

Point de stop correct, juste avant un arrt de bus, moyen d'attraper les vhicules sortants du centre commercial qui n'ont pas encore acclr. Temps d'attente : 15min & 1h45

The motorway junction was super busy one afternoon so I decided to walk up to here. Got a lift all the way to Galway pretty quickly!
No hard shoulder, but I stood in front of a wide entrance...

Got a ride all the way to Galway from here! Visibility is not great as there is a hill in the way, but cars are going slowly as they turn left from the R344 (most cars will go in the Galway direction).

Busy at the time (Bank Holiday afternoon). Got lift within 20m. This is the road most people in Letterfrack take for getting to Galway.

Towards Galway/Sligo/Mayo. Stood by sliplane. Took a while, but might have been bad luck. Maybe better to walk up R407 a little...

A busy petrol station. Very good to ask for to Ennis, Limerick or Galway

Great place to go to either Limerick city, M18 Ennis/Galway or M7 Dublin. A sign might help because drivers might be going in any one of the 3 directions. Its almost the last stop before the motorway starts.

A 10 min walk out from town but it is worth it, hard shoulder for cars to stop. Toward Limerick, Galway.

We were extremely lucky because we got a lift to Galway from here from a guy who was surfing here. We only had to wait for a few minutes.

Good spot if you are going to Galway. There is a stopping lane after the roundabout where the cars can stop easily. The traffic is also good.

We got a lift in 15 min to Ennis from here (we were going to Galway). There is a bus bay which is quite long so the cars can stop easily.

Good place to hitch if you want to go in direction of Spiddal, or Connemara by the coast road. You can take a bus, to get closer, or it's one hour walking from galway city center.

Great for getting into Galway, just follow this road until the sidewalk ends. Loads of cars, plenty of room for them to pull over, we got picked up in less than 5 min :)
