Another french hitchhiker was there, he was going north and me toward bologna. I was asking drivers with my best italian "lei parla inglese? no? ho, vado verso alessandria e mi serve un passagio per favor." I had a lot of friendly reaction and many people were not going there, eventually, a french dude drove me to an autogrill close to alessandria. Nicerating: 4/5, wait: 60 min, ride: 103 km →

Normal spot in order to get rides road to Genova, Alessandria, Milano or Torino. Right at the end of the last long painted median strip before the toll. You can have a good eye communication with the drivers because they pass close to you for your left and also for your right. The traffic is affluent and the cars are slowing down. It's better to use a sign.―Anonymous, September 2015

Me and my girlfriend had to got East and it was pretty hard to find someone that goes in the same direction, with space for us and willing to gave us a ride. Fortunatetly after more than one hour and a half, we fould a polish couple that brought us almost until Venice. Before we managed to find a ride to Suisse and one to Alessandria, but they were not useful respsect our destination.―Samthesam89, August 2015

I got a ride to Italy from this road in 10 minutes. I was with sign ITALY and got to Alessandria (driver went to Turin, I was going to Milan). I think any place on Av. de Sospel will work. I saw many cars with italian plates. Bus from Nice or Monaco costs just 1 euro.―Anonymous, February 2013

Waited for 3 hours in total (2 seperate hitches). TONS of space to pull over (autogrill plus big unused bus stop), but after a few insults shouted at me and 120 minutes waiting, I got a lift to Novi Ligure. Traffic here goes 2 ways, not a good spot but seemingly the only one in Alessandria.rating: 2/5
