Should be a good spot with coming through to bologna, only problem is that Italians kind of struggle to understand hitchhiking, they just tell you to take bus. After 60 minutes a guy took us to the next town

Good spot to get out of imola northwards. After the roundabout there is space for cars to pull over, also good traffic. After 2 minutes a guy took us and brought us to the next town. His dog was also in the car, was a very good boy. Used bologna sign (only 4 stars because it was a short ride)

Well it's a good spot but i needed to head to Bolzano, and everyone was going to venice or bologna... Also it was during early summer, on saturday so many people stopped at the lake. Idk if i should have gone on the small road by the lake or keep waiting for a car going to bolzano. I think i did good to wait patizntly there

Good spot to go towards Bologna. After 30 seconds a campervan stopped and took us to the next Autogrill. There is some space to stop right at the exit of the roundabout. We stood at the site of the roundabout, there is enough space. 1 female & 1 male

Good spot, waited for 15 minutes and got offered a ride all the way to the Austrian border, but we only needed to go to Bologna 1 male & 1 female

busy gas station, getting a ride to Bologna should be easy as pie

Pass station for motorcyclists mainly, great view but not that many cars, and most of them seemed very desintrested, got a ride after 70 min, luckily up until bologna Probatly still better than most spots as there is nowhere to stop most of time

I had sign to Bologna and after first hour I gave up and went to the city. After some hours I returned and I get a stop after 5 minutes. But I think that its a bit illegal here since two police cars told me, that I cant hitchhike there, but I explaind them, that it is not highway yet (they were laughing at my italian and let me hitchhike - cool guys). And italians are not into taking hitchhiker so the driver was Albanian.

I was alone with sign trying to get to Bologna. You are kind of hidden behind the curve and there is a big sign "no autostop" above you. There are a lot of cars, but they are speeding. Also the spot where they could stop you was still occupied by some other cars setting their gps. And italians are not into taking hitchhikers, so the driver was a foreigner and he took me to the first exit.

Waited at the exit of the station, with a sign Venezia/Padova. I had a lift to Ferrera, but the guy used the national road, not the motorway. If you want to go fast, ask the people if they are going through the autostrada or not, and there is a autogrill between Bologna and Ferrera where you can hitchike.

I took the tram T1 to the airport and walked there. Many people are going to Prato. After asking around for more or less 20 minutes I got a ride to Bologna

Arrived by ferry (which i paid for) in Ancona. I stood near the exit for cars with my prepared sign, and someone stopped in less than 10 minutes and took me to an Autogrill in Bologna.

I was asking almost all people entering autogrill bar, I had a "Genova" sign with me. Most people were heading east (Piacenza, Venezia, Bologna) while the others (some of them going south) were simply refusing to take me. Finally, after more than two hours, I asked sb to take me to the Alessandria's train station (the first person I asked, agreed) and I continued by train. If you go east, the place seems to be very good.

very bad spot, the highway sign is placed so that all the good spots for hitchhiking are blocked off and you will be risking a fine if you pass it, also be careful, it turns out there are 2 signs marking the start of the highway, where one of them is just for show i guess cuz we got police kicking us out behind the first one, which we didnt notice at first. If you are heading towards Firenze it should be okay since we got like 5 cars stopping, but noone is heading towards Bologna. If u end up here going towards Bologna, I recommend making a sign and standing at the road marked by the map, where most cars pass through and try finding a place with the most space at this road, its not ideal, but its better than nothing.

good spot towards the entrance to the highway, but be careful cars are mostly heading towards Firenze and its hard to stop at the entrance, so if ur heading towards Bologna id rather take the non-highway route and go city by city.

Good spot towards the highway, but I would not recommend going towards the highway if you are heading towards Bologna, since there is not much place to stop for cars before the entrance to the highway and in front of the gate it is illegal, we waited there around 4 hours, so id only hitchhike towards the highway if ur heading towards Firenze, otherwise try taking the non-highway route to Bologna.

We started at Rimini Nord toll booth and easily got a ride here. It was very hot in the morning so we didn't want to wait. After 10 minutes a camper driver saw us waving from afar and came back to pick us up. He took us to Samoggia a little town after Bologna. One girl one boy.

Got lucky that some workers were opening the gate as soon as I got to the station. Not sure if access is possible otherwise. No sign, asking people directly. Most foreigners were down but usually had full cars, a couple of Italians on their way to Vicenza dropped me off in Bologna.

Was looking for a ride south along the Adriatic, we found one before we even got to the spot we wanted to hitch from by walking along the SS64 with our thumbs out. Bologna is great!
