This looks to be the most obvious way to get out of Brescia and from here you can go to any direction you want.To get here you can just take a short walk from Volta metro. There will be a gas station and when you walk past it, you will come across a comfy side of the road that seems great for HH, at least in theory. In reality though, despite a decent amount of traffic, it can be extremely hard to stop anybody here (especially without a sign).
If you get frustrated after waiting for a long time, I can recommend checking out the two gas stations on either side of the roundabout for any cars that may potentially go in your desired direction.
I rate this spot 4/5 just because it is one of the very few ways to get out of Brescia.
P.S. I'm going to post other ways to HH out of the city after I've discovered them. Look for any recent updates

I asked my ride to leave me here on my way from Milan to Brescia since I didn't want to enter Bergamo. I was surprised to see that many cars were passing through this gas station even on a Sunday night.Eventually got picked up all the way to Brescia relatively quickly.
P.S. On this Autogrill I came upon a couple of foreign backpackers that were headed to Venezia. They were standing with a sign on the entrance to the gas station, which didn't bring them much success since I found actually asking the drivers in simple Italian way more profitable.

So this is the spot â„–1 from the "how to get out of Milan" guide. At least that's how I got here. The instructions were mostly clear and intuitive, though some things have already changed since the article was written. As such, for some reason the metro train wasn't going all the way to Cologno Nord station. Rather it stops at Cascina Gobba and from there you have to take a bus to the desired metro station. The ride was about 20 min long and I didn't even pay for it.When I got to Cologno Nord I followed the instructions and walked for about half a mile in the northeast direction until I saw the big electricity pole. To get to it, I had to jump over a 2 meter wide trench (it's more convinient if you cross it at the car gate to your right). Then I had to make a jump over a yet another trench, this time just below the electricity pole. Though I found the doors to be closed with padlocks so I had to jump over the fence from where you can just casually walk downhill to the gas station.
Advice: watch out for the stingy bushes, wouldn't recommend going this way if you're wearing just shorts and a t-shirt (you're likely to scratch yourself badly due to the dense vegetation that stands in your way).
After I got to the station I got picked up pretty quickly. The driver gave me a lift all the way to Bergamo from where I went with another car to my destined city of Brescia.

I went to France (Aubagne). I arrived here in the evening. I waited about 2-3 hours. On the guardrail you can see writings from hitchikers. A Romanian truck driver with Italian number plate took me to Brescia.Franciaorszgba mentem Aubagne-ba Este sttben rkeztem, s 2-3 rt vrtam. A szalagkorlton vannak stopposoktl feliratok. It's very easy to reach! when you turn right at the bridge continue to walk you ll find an open door (07-2014)! but keep in mind there's a new highway that connects Milan to Brescia directly without passing to Bergamo! it's faster but this spot should still working good!―Vulla, August 2014

I was hitchhiking alone. My friend left me there and I waited 10 min with a pannel saying "Verona". A guy who just left his family at the airport took me to a gas station on the highway around Brescia. I started HHing at 11 a.m. and was in Trieste at 6.pm. Good spot to me―25onten, November 2013

Definitely, definitely do not get dropped off here. There is a huge Autogrill just a few kilometers away towards Brescia which serves well both for Milan and Genoa. Unfortunately I mistook this coffee stop (NO petrol station here!) for that place and got stuck here for nearly 2 hours. (Although afterwards I managed to get a direct ride down to Cannes, FR :)).―Anonymous, August 2013

Not as good but probably safer spot than the nearby toll gate. When I arrived, a couple just got picked up to Venezia. I got a lift to Brescia after an hour or so. Kind staff in the restaurant under the office building.―Anonymous, August 2013

Heading north to Brescia/Verona: This is actually just another gas station on the highway. Heading to Bologna from here you'll def find someone. Brescia/Verona was a bit harder though. In addition I wanted to add that in case you get stuck here as I did at late night there is a golf field just behind the gas station. If you're advanturous enough (and don't have a tent on you) jump over the fence, cross the golf field and you will see some cabines where you are save from the weather. I spend a quite comfortable night there without being disturbed by someone :)―Anonymous, May 2013

Getting a ride from here towards Brescia/Bergamo worked out well. Don't let yourself get scared off by the big sign which says "No Autostopp". I was standing next to it, four police cars passed me and no one cared about it :) Sign is necessary since people can take both directions! I was waiting for about 30 mins I guess until someone took me to a gas station on the highway.―Travelrebel, May 2013

i took a lift until a petrol station that located next to Brescia. I was trying to go to France. This spot is fairly good for leaving Venice towards south.―Kralx15, September 2012

I was dropped here (coming from Genova), and found this is NOT a good spot IF you want to go either into Milano or east towards Brescia/Verona/Venezia/etc.It is much better for destinations north or west of Milano (though there might be better service areas in other spots around the city).
To get into the city I got a ride to Rho and then another one into the city. Waiting time: about 2 hours.

an ESSO petrol station right on autobahn (autostrada, motorway) A4 BRESCIA-MILANO- TORINO. you can reach the station through the commercial area (north of the station) in walking a circle (westward) around some of the manufacturing halls, there is a swing door that connects the station's platform with the surrounding roads (street: "via aquileia") of the quarter. ATM-tram number 31 takes you from the city center to the corner "via monfalcone/via massimo gorki" from where you can walk to the station in 5 to 7 minutes. i have not hitchhiked from there but will do so next week (on a MILANO-TORINO trip), the spot seems to be excellent because of its safe surrounding, many cars passing by also easy accesibility. there is also a restaurant and a snack shop.rating: 3/5

a very good relay on my way from MESTRE (VENEZIA) to MILANO in summer 2010. as not everyone from the MESTRE-area (from where i had departed) travels on long distance i had a stopover here for 30 minutes. there is lots and lots of traffic at this place - trucks, busses, cars. there is a petrol station, a rest area as well as a large restaurant. people speak english very well. there are oppportunities to get taken to PADOVA, VICENZA, VERONA, BRESCIA as well as MILANO during minutes. on my personal rating from 1 to 10 (1 = worst ever, don't go there!, 10 = perfect spot) i want to rate this place a "9 to 10" as it is safe, clean and people are very friendly.rating: 5/5

> A4 Vicenza Verona Brescia Milano and further oncross on the other side (the autogrill is over the highway) and you have directions:
> Padova, Venezia, Udine, Trieste
never hh from there but brought friends there and they left successfully!
if coming from Padova take bus 11 to Taggì - or to Limena, try to get off nearby the highway then walk along it till the gas station
