3 ppl going south we were hoping to just get to Ancona on our first day but in the end got picked up by a guy going to Foggia so we stopped in Termoli. He asked us if we could split the highway fare tho :(

It took me 2,5h to get a ride only to Foggia. There is not much traffic and most of them going south. Maybe it somehow could work to Bari. Also it seemed to me like they just don't want to take hitchhiker to a highway. Police passed me twice and they didn't care, so at least spot is legal.

You can get on SS16 to Cerignola or to Foggia if you are lucky.

hard for cara to stop here— we split up so 1 person was closer to the exit of the tunnel, and another one was right in front of the gas station so cars had more time to decide whether to stop. we were trying to go to foggia, but here it’s mostly local drivers so we didn’t get far.

There is a good Esso Petrol Station, lots of people stopping, to Foggia very easy but you may find lifts also for Naples region or at least Candela, motorway entrance. I waited 4 hrs for that but anyway is Italy..;)
