Even though this spot was very praised, and there's nice markings by fellow hitchhikers on a traffic sign, I had to wait 1,5 h to get a ride towards Trieste. Even got middle-finger'd once. Gave up with using a sign in half an hour. After 1h 15min the first car stopped for me, but was going to Novo mesto. A while after that, a super nice and helpful Slovenian mother picked me eventually up and took me to the halfway and donated me some mixed nuts and drove home. And then she came back to me in order to drive me to Trieste!!! <3 so the wait was deffo rewardedrating: 2/5, wait: 90 min 👍, ride: 34 km ↙

I waited like 6hours90% we’re renting cars and were going back to the airport. People weren’t nice, very few smile. However no problem from employees.
Also all the trucks were going off the highway in the nexts exits or many to Austria but no towards Trieste.

It’s Italy, so always more difficult then elsewhere.. wanted to go (trieste) to Slovenia. After 3 hours a guy drove me 30 minutes in the right direction. Was in October, so no tourist season, so more difficult to find people. But it’s the best place out of Padova I thinkrating: 3/5, wait: 180 min, ride: 31 km →

The worst place on earth. After getting stuck here the night before we did eventually find a ride with a couple of Swiss people, but just getting here and the utter disappointment at continuously staring at the perpetually empty gas station was beyond demoralizing. We spent the night in the gas station because we arrived really late and we didn't want to hitchhike at night so we decided to continue the next day.
Early in the morning 7:30AM we started to hitchhike in the exit of the gas station with a panel Slovenia, no one stopped for 4hours waiting so we decided to move to the exit of the restaurant first we started to with the same panel and after 5hours waiting someone stopped but he was going to Krakow! so we kept hitchhiking till we found a car to Trieste directly.
My experience in Croatia with hitchhike is really bad I don't consider as an easy country to hitchhike, Good luck.
