Un gars (Stephano) s’est arrêté alors que nous marchions. Il nous a déposé à la ville d’après car il nous a dit que ventait plus facile de trouver des gens pour Turin ici.

Nous avons attendus 120 minutes pour trouver une voiture pour la france ou au moins un peu apres Turin. Finalement nous sommes sortis de la station à pied pour dormir dans la ville voisine

Service station with lots and lots of truck where you can even grab a coffee on the go I was holding a sign with "France" written on it and I tried both asking to the truck drivers and standing thumbs-up on the exit. Sadly, most of the truck drivers were going back to Turin. I got lucky to find a really kind polish driver that was going all the way to Troyes. My goal was to reach Lyon so he dropped me in a service area just outside the city

Follow the instruction other people wrote in order to reach this spot. Personally, I bought a €2,6 train ticket from Turin to Alpignano then walked for 20 minutes I was holding a sign with "France" written on it and the second person I asked got me a lift to Susa Autoporto, where he was heading to to work. It probably helped that we were both Italians but I will forever remember this as my first ever hitchhiking lift and I can only thank this community for the help

Was here on a sunday, at the end of easter break, direction turin, very little traffic, waited for 2 hours and gave up, only got offered one lift in the wrong direction. During the week there is probably much more though. Be aware that there is staff roaming the gas pumps helping out drivers, and they did not want me to run around the pumps talking to people but they were friendly and said i could go stand after the pumps, and even helped translate with the one guy who offered me a ride

Probably great if you go to Genova or Turin, but I asked for Piacenza and no one was going this way... I eventually found someone but prepare to wait quite a bit

Is not a station but is full of cars, good for turin or milan direction. I suggest to stay in the spot where I point because is where all the cars went for the highway. But there you meed a sign(a lot of store you can ask for one).

Got a ride really fast just asking to the parked cars to Turin

I was trying to get to Milan but I couldn't find anyone, it was all locals. Eventually I got a ride to Torino porta Susa and took the train. Getting to Turin is very easy and sometimes more south but not north

Wanted to go to Turin but no one stopped. Decided to go to Albertville and someone took us after 15min

Just like Melaine said, take the bus from Turin to Rivoli or Alpignano, then walk to the highway. Follow the gravel track "Via Valle" on 400 meters and then you will find a low fence easy to step over, enter the service station and ask people for a ride. I was lucky, the first driver I asked said yes so it was my fastest hitchhike ever. Do not stick your thumb up or wait with a sign, police will fine you.

-----2024---- Very good spot to go to France From Turin, it's better to take the bus to Rivoli and walk to the station rather than try to hitchhike elsewhere. The fence around the station is bent to the west and you can walk in without any problems. Be careful not to stick out your thumb as the police fined the young woman who did so; it's better to ask people directly when they stop to take a break, A gentleman took us to the border in a few minutes. Info: I'm a young man of 23.

Got a ride to Turin in 1 min. I was hitchhiking straight from the toll, plenty of space to stop safely. The tunnel Frejus was closed tho, so the way was longer but it still worked easily

Not many cars, most of them going in the french alps. I refused some ride to saint jean de Maurienne (but maybe it would have been good to hitch from there), after 60min, I got a ride to the toll at Saint martin d'arc, perfect for going to turin.

Waited 50min with a sign Turin, many many cars were about to pull over but they were going to Grenoble. So excellent spot to Grenoble. After 50min, I thought I should write a closer destination, so I wrote A43, direction albertville and got a ride in 10min, to a station calle "Aire de l'arcluza".
