100% the best spot from riga to get to liepaja! full of space and all of the cars are getting on that direction u can take the bus 43 from the center, sleep on the forest next to highway, ask the restaurant for water and all and hitchhike on the morning it’s like 40min of bus from center of riga good luck! the spot is awesome :))) 😌

Great spot to get to Latvia. Many cars with Latvian license plate were stopping here. We were lucky a stopped a guy travelling to Riga.

Iconic hitchhiking spot. A lot of place to stop for the car, but the speed of cars ir fast, so use you sign. Easy rides to Klaipeda, but it's possible to get a car to Riga as well.

Came here from Riga by bus and waited around 2h Some empty bus took us to Poland

I think it might be the best place of you want to skip Riga. Just ask drivers if they are going to Bauska or firther. As I am lithuanian I could just ask lithuanian drivers and I instantly got a ride to Panevezys.

For this spot didnt feel too good. Cars just go so fast here and they will not want to stop. Idk about other spots out of tallinn but maybe this is the best one. But if you get a ride most likely its a long one. Got one to almost Riga. But for driver stop he must be comitted to pick hitchhiker up. There place to stop and they see but the speed are the problem even for cars coming from the side.

Good gas station. Quite a lot of traffic in all directions: Riga, Tallinn, Viljandi. After 20 mins we got a straight ride to Tallinn.

Quite a shit spot. Akward for cars to stop. We got offered two shorter rides to surrounding areas but a guy on his day off offered to take us to the A1 right after Riga. Seems mostly local traffic. Not much people going onwards to Estonia

If you are trying to go past Riga i would probably not recommend choosing this road because after it becomes only local road more. But we were going to Salaspils so that was all good but after getting out of it wasnt so easy. The spot itself is alright. There is quite a lot of space to stop even tho you just stand on the road but the outside lane is long so all good

If you are trying to get to Riga dont get off here. People who go to riga stop at Circle K gas station after Panevezys. Your best bet is to try to find someone going to Pasvalys and get of there and get to Riga. If you are going to Siauliai its alright. But the gas station has low traffic. And most of the traffic are locals

I would say the best spot into riga direction but i would recommend first trying to get to panevezys and then to riga because i dont think there is a lot of cars going straight to riga. But try to get to circle k after panevezys because its the most popular gas station. And getting off earlier will mean you will likely get a bit stuck

Had sign to Jelgava, traffic goes slow due to construction but our ride took us to a bus stop outside of Riga suggesting a better spot.

We got a ride to Panevezys on a Tuesday morning with a sign Panevezys/Riga very quickly

Got a ride to Riga with a Parnu sign. Good traffic and space to stop but only cars or small trucks and mainly traffic coming from one end of the roundabout as there's a separation on the road for other incoming traffic.

Road works don't really reduce to one lane anymore, so people don't want to stop there. Therefore being so close to Riga there's a ton of traffic but not willing to stop. Got a ride after 1h30 to Kekava from 100m down the road.

Probably just got unlucky but we stood at the bus stop for 40 minutes with a sign for Riga and got no one to stop. Mostly just seemed to be local tradfic at 10:00 on a weekday. Afterwards we moved to the grocery store parking lot and got a ride to Riga in like half an hour.

Got picked up by asking around the gas station for rides to Riga. Mostly commuters heading into the city so better to be there early. Otherwise not a lot of traffic.
