Main spot to get to the capital city Riga. There are lot of cars going, usually takes less than 15-20 minutes to get one. Stand right after little bridge and you will get lucky. :)

Probably got quite lucky, but got ride to Riga in 30 minutes using a sign "LV". Mostly trucks ride here for some reason, personal car traffic is quite low and a lot of cars are locals Ithink (not many cars with foreign license plates). There is a bus stop behond curve (the curve slow down cars, but they can still see you and cars go still quite fast there). So you must be lucky, sign reccomended.

Great spot for way to Estonia. Bus stop. Got ride in 20 minutes with a sign. I think it is worth to get from Riga, if you want to go to Estonia.

Spot speaks for itself. Just after the lights, perfect place for people to pull over. Bus stop for shade and to hide from rain. Sign for Riga

Trying to get a ride into Riga late at night. Super long walk so I put my thumb out even with super little traffic. A few cars later and someone brings me closer to the centre. Probably very lucky.

Heading towards Riga. Great place where even trucks stop although traffic was quite minimal. Keep an eye out ahead of you on the Latvian side as I missed a truck which stopped there since it was quite far ahead. Still got a ride with the second truck driver who stopped there to the edge of Riga (he was headed to Lithuania).

Not the best spot for drivers to stop (due to cpnstuctions) but we've got picked up by a car going to riga after a while

Got all the way to Kaunas. Several rides into Riga offered as well.

Got there early (8am) thumbed for 2h unlucky, then switched to sign "RIGA", and got a truck ride directly to pärnu in 1h. Very fast traffic, best to go stand on the road before the bus stop, because else they cant see your sign.

Lots of drivers going to Riga or the surrounding area. Got a ride to almost Riga in 10 mins at 22:00

Moved here after an hour of waiting with the sign “RIGA” on the last bus stop on the Kaunas-Klaipeda freeway, this spot is way better than the bus stop, as at the bus stop cars are going way too fast to read your sign and stop in time. I wouldn’t say the spot is dangerous, it’s definitely legal, as the freeway has already ended. Best option imo if your driver is going to Klaipeda and you’re trying to go to Panevezys/Riga/etc., however expect some waiting time. Try to not get stuck here near the night, as it has no lighting and the forest around it is a protected area, so I’m not sure about the legality of staying there with a tent and it’s fenced off and extremely wild anyways, so the practicality isn’t great. Probably best bet is to try to get past Panevezys to the gas station even if you’re trying to go further.

100% the best spot from riga to get to liepaja! full of space and all of the cars are getting on that direction u can take the bus 43 from the center, sleep on the forest next to highway, ask the restaurant for water and all and hitchhike on the morning it’s like 40min of bus from center of riga good luck! the spot is awesome :))) 😌

really nice spot for real we were two guy and finally we were taken directly to riga !!! lots of trafic, visibility and cars are not really fast recommend it 100% 😌😌😌good luck !

Great spot to get to Latvia. Many cars with Latvian license plate were stopping here. We were lucky a stopped a guy travelling to Riga.

Iconic hitchhiking spot. A lot of place to stop for the car, but the speed of cars ir fast, so use you sign. Easy rides to Klaipeda, but it's possible to get a car to Riga as well.

Came here from Riga by bus and waited around 2h Some empty bus took us to Poland

I think it might be the best place of you want to skip Riga. Just ask drivers if they are going to Bauska or firther. As I am lithuanian I could just ask lithuanian drivers and I instantly got a ride to Panevezys.

For this spot didnt feel too good. Cars just go so fast here and they will not want to stop. Idk about other spots out of tallinn but maybe this is the best one. But if you get a ride most likely its a long one. Got one to almost Riga. But for driver stop he must be comitted to pick hitchhiker up. There place to stop and they see but the speed are the problem even for cars coming from the side.
