One male 40+, with a sign "VILNIUS" , one big and one small backpacks, dry but cloudy day. Going to Vilnius. A very good space. A bus stop, with enough space even for a truck, just after the entrance/exit to a petrol station. 8:45 in the morning. A perfect traffic, a car every 20-30 seconds. I barely started hitchhiking and a car stopped and took me to Bauska, where after 15 minutes I got another ride, all the way to Vilnius. The only problem with this place is getting there. Before, from Riga, there is a highway, plus it's 20 kms from the centre. So no chance to walk there. I got a ride from my friend. But I guess there must be a bus from Riga, stopping there.

A lot of cars (most of them to Bauska and riga) and trucks (frequently to Tallin and poland). I caught a nice man who went to Ukraine, and left me in warsaw. One of the best spot Nearby riga

Towards Smiltene, the map is incorrect as they moved the bus stop further and put there a speed camera, so it's 50km/h and a speed camera, therefore high likelyhood of getting a car. Also the sideroads from either direction get cars going to Smiltene/Riga etc so good chance to stop them also, wait times of 10-30 minutes expected

Good spot to get a direct ride to Riga, a lot of Latvians stop here. After asking around for 45 minutes it worked for me.

After asking around for 30 minutes with sign Riga got a ride to Panevezys. There are a lot of truck drivers but it didn't help me to get a direct lift to Riga.

There is a bus stop: "Neilandi", the bus 26 go there from city and across the road is the sign of RIGA. Firstly I try to hitchhiking with the sign Vilnius but after 30 min with no result, I change the sing to Bauska. After this in 5 min one driver stopped and bring me to Bauska

the bus stations does not exist anymore😭 The highway is not available, so you have to Hitch on the district roads where everyone heading to Riga.

Not the best spot, lots of locals, but there is space to stop on the side and gas station nearby (Circle K) if you want to ask. Ended up taking the bus into Riga 2€ after 15 minutes.

Good spot to catch cars/trucks out of the ferry, there's space to stop and entrance to a parking. If you come in the Viking Line you will have time to catch at least the last half of the vehicles heading out. Got a truck almost all the way to Riga. Solo female, in the middle of a storm, sign Latvia.

2nd car stoped directly to riga

Restaurant and 2 gas stations, but the traffic was very low on monday morning. Decided to hitchhike by the road just before the station. Cars ignored us, finally someone came and offered us a ride to Riga. I guess we were unlucky, spot looked decent.

Towards Riga, but on a pretty big corner so cars are cautious and during evening no lights, the spot at the railroad crossing is probably way better, as well as using the crossroad to go to Dobele, but here I'd estimate you'd need to wait at least a hour.

Amazing spot towards Riga direction, speed camera in 50km/h area just before the bus stop as well as the stop being itself very wide and comfortable for drivers to stop, wait times of 5-15 minutes expected

Had to wait for a while, but eventually got a ride till Riga.

Works well, watch out for the trucks driving on high speed. Waited 15min in a Friday evening, got a ride to Riga.

I thought there was no need to go to the next bus stop so i stayed here. First car went to Riga, put me where i wanted and i ended with food, drinks and ice cream 😅 So i was very lucky, 'cause there are not a lot of cars going by

Many cars that go to the Latvia. We talked to 3 drivers and found a drive almost to Riga

Aldo the traffic was really low probably because of en early hour I've menage to get ride all the way to Riga pretty quickly

Not to much traffic but there is a bus bay which is so big that even a truck can stop. Got ride to the outskirts of Riga
