brilliant spot. traffic lights before are inconvenient for drivers. was planning to go to kaunas or poland, but was instantly offerred a right to vilnius.

Towards Kaunas, loads of truckers in the petrol station to ask around, a lot of truckers use this for the night and longer stops tho, if you don't find one going fast enough in the petrol station, you can try your luck and get a personal car from highway, however it is very uncomfortable for cars to stop (still managed to stop a car with a trailer), wait times of 10-40 minutes expected

Towards Kaunas, uncomfortable spot, but doable, cars on highway are less likely to stop, so best bet is to aim for local cars joining the highway, wait times of 10-30 minutes expected

A great spot going further south, ask for a driver to let out you on the highway shoulder if they are going to Vilnius and you are headed towards Kaunas, good visibility and okay speeds, wait times of 5-15 minutes

Works very well for Kaunas. Okay amount of traffic.

With a sign saying LT, got a ride to Kaunas within an hour. Definitely stand at the bus stop at the exit instead of the gas station parking, that way you’ll catch all the traffic.

Good spot to get a lift by lithuanian drivers - there is a roundabout before the spot so traffic is a bit slower. I stayed with sign Kaunas before "Taxi" road sign, as there is enough space to stop for drivers. Got direct ride to Kaunas within 10 minutes (but maybe I was a bit lucky). You can also try your luck by asking around at the gas station across the street.

A bus stop with enough space for cars to stop. Good spot if you want to get out of Augustów and go to Suwałki (which is eventually much better city to get a ride to Lithuania). Waited 25 minutes with sign Suwałki/Kaunas.

Bad spot for hitchhiking as speed is very fast, but drivers can see you from far away. After almost an hour of waiting got a ride to Kaunas

Long strip of gravel on the side of the road, even unsure drivers can take their time to think and stop (mines stopped a couple of hundred meters forward, almost didn't see them). Sign Kaunas, got ride to Kaunas. Solo female, Sunday morning.

Feels weird to hh long distance in the middle of the city and some drivers made annoyed gestures, but I got the ride and this should be the best space to go eastward with how the roads work here. Sign with kaunas (even though I wanted to go to Poland) would probably be very helpful here.

One of the better highway exits in Lithuania outside the big towns. Took a fairly short ride, would have waited for direct ride to kaunas hadnt it rained.

Good spot for Kaunas. Only thing that you have to use public transport to get here (bus 20)

After trying for 45 mins further on the Road we were lucky at the Traffic light and found someone who brought us to the Gasstation direction to kaunas

Good spot how to get to Lithuania. Infront of the gas station. After 25 mins guy called us from gas station and take us to Kaunas.

mostly local traffic. many lithuania cars but almost none stop. I declined 2 rides to marijampole in the hopes of getting a ride further but it was a mistake and i got stuck for 2 hours. its not a bad spot but i think i was just very unlucky. in the afternoon many lithuanians go back from shopping so in the end i got a ride to Kaunas.
