Eith a sign "LT", git ride to Kaunas in 15 minutes. I stood under sign "taxi" with some space for cars to stop.

Get here on foot from precious spot at Cirkle K gas station ~5km away. Way much luckier here, here is bus stop, plenty place for cars to stop, and 50m further is small truck stop. It was end of September around 8pm so getting dark outside but basically almost immediately van stopped and with a night stop at campsite took me inside Poland, past Warsaw and all the bad spots along the way. Best spot to HH to Kaunas or even further west. Great driver as well, spent the night at campsite and in the morning going further. Drop me off at MOP Nowostawy near Lódz

All the truck drivers was passing by, eventually got ride from guy who was going towards Vilnius, so dropped me off before last junction towards Kaunas which was my destination. Sign "Panevèžys/Kaunas", single male with big backpack and guitar. Wednesday afternoon around 2-3pm

Right after shop "Top!" is plenty space for a car to stop. I was HH with sign Panevèžys/Kaunas, got ride 3 mins after starting, which took me closer to Lithuanian border. Single male, big backpack and guitar.

High speed and traffic. A lot of space to stop. Got direct to Kaunas.

High speed, high traffic. Not so many truck stop at the Hesburger/Neste. Maybe bad luck but it was still morning traffic. Got little closer to Kaunas with a truck.

Its worked for me to better spot in kaunas

Late in the evening really wanted to go to klaipeda and the first car i asked gave me a ride there. The best gas station going from kaunas towards klaipeda or panevezys. You can find traffic going both directions.

Even late in the night got a ride to kaunas. But if i didnt speak lithuanian probably the guys would not have taken me. But took me so that was super nice.

Really nice MOP from here shoudl be very easy to go to suwalki or kaunas. Didnt want to wait for lithuanian cars so agreed to the ride to suwalki.

Petrol station towards Kaunas, amazing spot, loads of drivers, you can also stand by the speeding up ramp, there's gravel roadside for cars to stop, wait times of 5-15 minutes to be expected

Called the night by the castle and had a local kid my age show me around the town at night. Super good spot for hitching South. Had a sign LT Kaunas

If you go to kaunas use a sign bauska, we had a kaunas sign for 45 minutes, than we changed it to bauska and after 5 minutes we've got a ride to iecava. It's also a luck but still. Place just after the construction seemed to us better.

Going towards Kaunas. I think I was very unlucky since not a single person stopped even with the very high traffic and good visibility. Waited an hour before catching a bus further out of the city.

Heading towards Kaunas. Maybe I was unlucky but I waited here with my thumb for a while and nobody ever stopped. A kind man came up to me from the café and asked where I was going. He ended up bringing me to his home near Kaunas and I slept the night there.

Got all the way to Kaunas. Several rides into Riga offered as well.

Right next to the roundabout a little space for stopping. Third car that passed me took me straight to kaunas.

Moved here after an hour of waiting with the sign “RIGA” on the last bus stop on the Kaunas-Klaipeda freeway, this spot is way better than the bus stop, as at the bus stop cars are going way too fast to read your sign and stop in time. I wouldn’t say the spot is dangerous, it’s definitely legal, as the freeway has already ended. Best option imo if your driver is going to Klaipeda and you’re trying to go to Panevezys/Riga/etc., however expect some waiting time. Try to not get stuck here near the night, as it has no lighting and the forest around it is a protected area, so I’m not sure about the legality of staying there with a tent and it’s fenced off and extremely wild anyways, so the practicality isn’t great. Probably best bet is to try to get past Panevezys to the gas station even if you’re trying to go further.

3rd car I asked took me to Kaunas, car was going to Liepãja

a good spot for real lots of trafic but if u want to go to kaunas u have to show your sign to the cars in the middle of the road which is a big tricky but doable, i got take to kaunas in 15min good luck the spot is great (lot of space to stop) 😌
